The Most Amazing Shop Ever!
I love Hollister, I visit my local store almost every day before or after work. The staff are so friendly in there and (most) the clothes are just to die for! Online is amazing too, I ordered a bunch of stuff and spent over an amount to get free delivery, and I received it 3 days later, and no customs costs etc being in the UK. I have never had any problems with store refunds, or anything, and the quality of their items is just superb, and you get what you pay for, really. Lovely!

Good Clothes, Satisfactory Customer Service, Bad Prices.
I've shopped in the Hollister in Bellingham, Alderwood, and Southcentre. (Washington.)
I've also ordered online a few times and had no problems.
I LOVE their clothes: They always have really nice jeans/shorts/swaters/etc depending on the season that are exactly my style.
My only complaint about the store is the prices: Not only are they overpriced, but when they do have a sale in the store they only leave big ticket items out. (Example: On black Friday the entire store was half off. However, there were no shorts or sale items out. Only expensive jackets/jeans.)
Online I've noticed that when they put everything 30 percent off, they hike the price up so that you end up paying the same amount you would have before the sale. Extremely frustrating. Unless you're prepared to pay close to full price, I don't recommend ordering online.
I also hate that the clearance items never have my size left, and I wish that they would include the models size/stats in the clothes online so that we can compare for sizing.
I don't know why everyone says they fit small: I'm 5'5 120 pounds and I'm an XS or 25 in there.
Customer service has been great, however the store IS annoyingly dark.

Horrible Experience
The size guide is pretty much useless as everything is either too big or too small, the prices are way above average for cheaply made clothing which is uncomfortable to wear and the customer service is a joke!
I bought a £60 jacket (Size L) from the Hollister website and I paid £10 for delivery. The jacket was way too small so I used the speed exchange option on the website which clearly states they would ship the "replacement merchandise to you at no cost for shipping". Instead I was charged another £10 for delivery and deducted £9 for exchanging the jacket.
When the replacement finally arrived after 10 days it was too big even though I had only gone up one size and the previous one seemed to be made for a child. So I returned it and was charged another £9 for that.
I contacted customer service and they didn't reply for two weeks, when they finally got in touch I was promised a refund of the two £9 charges within the month.
A month later I had still received no refund and the customer service has never responded to any further emails sent by me.
All in all, I'm out £28 for nothing.

I Love Hollister!
What's not to love? The clothes are great & of really good quality.I wish they would have a few more colours though. I just can't stand the hordes of screaming teenage girls, spending 20 minutes deciding to buy or not to buy exactly the same top they are already wearing while oggling every male that passes nearby.

Weird Shop, Nice Fitting Clothes
The shop is so weird, it feels like a nightclub. The music is quite loud and it's so dark! The only other shop like it is, obviously, Abercrombie.
The clothes themselves are great. They look good and have a great fit for an athletic build. The only problem is that the do tend to stretch and look less good after a few washes.
I kind of see Hollister as "Abercrombie light" - meaning that it's a cheaper, watered down version of Abercrombie. The clothing is more affordable, but it is also lower quality.
I think the clothes are still better than the likes of Topman & Burton, but probably on a par with Superdry.

Clothing Doesn't Look Great For Long!
Clothing from Hollister only looks good a few times it never come out the wash looking the same!
Tshirts are the worst for fading and bobbling!
Staff are very fake and forced!
I do love the smell of the shop and some clothes are reasonable prices!
Having the lights so dark is annoying and really need air con on when it busy as it get so hot!
Also changing room staff are to busy talking to each other about the weekend making the sue move very slow!

Turn The Lights On!
Hollister is quite an experience. You go in, feel slightly sorry for the male model by the shop door - clearly there for the purpose of putting up gawking teenage girls (why don't they have female models, would that be sexist?)
Then when you go in, you can't see anything really. I don't know why a chain thinks that its a good idea to have clothes that you have to squint at and hold up to the sparse lamps to see if they're nice. You'd think that they didn't want you to buy their product.
The staff (at the Cardiff branch anyway) did an excellent job of making me feel uncomfortable and like I shouldn't be there. I'm not an old woman I'm in my early twenties and I can fit into the clothes they sell so their dismissive and up themselves attitudes was quite beguiling. They all looked like someone had just murdered their parents and I was the prime suspect, maybe its not being able to see anything that makes them so miserable.
The actual clothes themselves were all right. Nowhere near worth the price they're selling for though, not when its just tee shirts and denim shorts.

Zero Costomer Service In Uk
I bought a cream cardigan for £40 from the Norwich store, after the first wash (at 30 degrees) the colour went patchy, we complained in store but the manager refused to leave his mood lit store to look and fobbed me off with a complaints email address, i tried this but no got reply, and found another on their website. I emailed this and got a reply asking for more info, after sending 3 more emails with attached images, which were replied to, all we got was a refusal to overule the store manager and a phone number in the usa that wasnt answered. It seems to me Hollister are buying very cheap clothes in China and selling them in the uk at a huge mark up with no regard to their customers, of which i am no longer one. I would have been better shopping in Primart.

I Too, Am Surprised At The Lack Of Reviews For Hol
I too, am surprised at the lack of reviews for Hollister clothing - although this may be down to review centre being a better documentation of negative reviews. This is a review of the website rather than the physical shops.
I bought about £120 worth of clothing on the Hollister 2 weeks ago, overall amounting to £25 shipping and handling. Not bad considering it is coming from America and they cover all of the import tax/customs charges on their behalf, but also considering they have a large string of stores and suppliers throughout the UK it's an absolute wonder why they don't have a UK website and ship from the UK. It's a bit disappointing but not a total miss... as £25 was half the price of driving to my nearest store and back, I opted for the online option.
Hollister predicted a delivery date of 7 days from my order, which sounded very quick coming from America - and it was infact too good to be true, arriving 12 days after my order was placed.
I'd like to stress that you won't be charged extra on top of your delivery. I read several reviews on the internet of people saying they were charged taxes on top, which worried me to no end - but all was well!
Their sizing -in my opinion- is dead on. I guess from their "look policy" and the bad side you hear of Hollister, I expected the sizing to be SMALL = UK 4-6UK, but as a UK10 size M fitted me perfectly.
The clothes are great - one of my favourite parts of Hollister's range is that they are always very soft and comfortable. Some tops I bought were very beautiful and they come in a wide range of different colours suitable to a wide range of tastes. I don't really know what to say about the clothes to "sell" them, I'll let them speak for themselves. I think some items are overpriced but for their quality I feel they're reasonable.
The only reason I give it 4/5 instead of the full 5 is because the S+H is a bit pricey and the missed estimated delivery date of a 5 day difference. Otherwise, I had a great shopping experience and would happily use them again. :)

The First Time I Went Into Hollister I Was Mesmeri
The first time I went into Hollister I was mesmerized - they really put everything into the shopping experience: the interior/exterior, layout, plants, seating, TVs...! And the clothes? Oh, the clothes!
But it's just what they stand for that gets me. They will only employ young, slim, typically attractive people and stand for stereotyped, high-status 'cool'. So, I find the shop to be quite shallow, and it also has a conceited or arrogant air about it - it knows it's 'the best'! It's quite sad that they don't uphold the laid back, chilled vibe you get from the surfer themes.
Also, a bit pricey. Although I have nothing to complain about the clothing quality, I'm sure I'm one of many for whom their budget simply cannot stretch as hollister-far as we would like!
But finally and that aside, I like that the variety of their clothes are pretty much unique to them anywhere outside the US! In the UK we simply dont have much of this beach style that I love.
