Volkswagen Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI 200PS

This is the car i currently own and it has been utterly brilliant for the 1st year in our lives, the most amazing thing is the high miles per gallon, its great on fuel and also extremely reliable, never broke down or let us down once so far. A cracker of a VW.

We have always been fans of German cars having previously owned Mercedes, BMW and Mini but I have to say that the Scirocco has to be the best out of the lot.

The build quality is superb, the driving position perfect the look of the car stunning and you can just tell that every little detail of the car has been designed with a passion.

We looked at lots of similar cars in this segment but I can honestly say that none of the others come close, if you are looking for a nice sports coupe then you cannot go wrong with the Scirocco, hats off to Volkswagen.

Brilliant performance and stunning looks, I love it!

first up, I don't own this car. I've test driven it twice as I'm trying to save my pennies for a deposit. Firstly, the pictures of the vw scirocco don't do it justice. It's rare for the car to look better in the flesh and this one certainly does. It looks far more low slung and sleek. It looks quite aggressive too.The scirocco is based on the vw platform but rest assured it's better to drive than the golf gti (i test drove this one too).Disappointingly the interior is rather sombre. The dashboard has been taken straight out of the VW EOS. It's clear and all controls are presented in a logical way. I did find the interior a little claustrophobic. I'd suggest going for the tan hide interior to lighten it up a bit.This car is a joy to drive. The controls are light and easy to use. The steering on the scirocco is light but there's still good road feel through it.The ride is firm (a lot firmer than the golf gti)but not overly firm. I did play with the ride settings (Standard, Sport, Comfort) but to be honest I couldn't really notice the difference. Maybe on a motorway drive you'll notice the difference between the settings.In terms of performance the vw scirocco feels superior to the golf gti. It's lighter for one. It just feels more eager and you can feel the turbo when it kicks in a subtely whistles away. The handling is a lot better than the gti too. It benefits from less weight and more importantly the scirocco has a much lower centre of gravity which means you don't get the body role you do in the golf gti.The golf gti is an excellent family car however, if you don't have a family but still want a practical sports car that you can fit more than a sport bag in the boot this is definetely the best all round package. Surprisingly it's not much over £20k. I've had a look for secondhand sciroccos however, their little cheaper than new. I suspect these cars will hold their value well.

It has to be the handling. For a fwd car The Volkswagen Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI 200PS sticks like anything. Also very well priced. Same as a GTI and if you look online there are some great discounts to be had. Dealers on http://www.scirocconet.co.uk forum are offering 10% off! You need ot buy one!

A little cramped inside plus it's only a 2+2 so no chance of squeezing a fifth person in. Some rattles which the dealer is unable to iron out.

A great looking car with vw reliability. It gets all the attention from young and old. a true future classic.

Great car to drive ,handles great sounds brilliant looks stunning.dsg gearbox brill paddles perfect.2 or 3 minor bad point that i can easily live with...

Is not the easiest of cars 2 get in & out of if u r not fit.deep boot means high lift for your shopping 2 get in and out no problem if u r young and mobile.heater seems to take a while to heat up in winter large engine be the cause of that.vw should have fitted it with a heated screen would have made a big difference in winter...

love the look of this car so dose a lot of people.this car doesn't turn heads it snaps necks honestly from young to the very old r stopping to look at it people have stopped in there cars outside the house to look at it.strangers have said nice car pal,people have been staring at the car for more than 30 seconds before they notice someone is in it.have had 2l gti couler concept in the past and vw 2l tdi and neither come close to the scirocco in my opinion.i don't think a new porsche could turn heads like the scirocco by one you wont be disappointed!!!
