After calling round several of the majors and spending a large amount of time fighting through automated systems I was recommended I try xln. The quote process was fast, friendly and efficient. The person I dealt with was very patient as we were dealing with a complex old system. Regular contact, simple pricing, the right product for my business without lots of time spent running through the multitude of "optional extras" the big players want to push on you. If you need a simple solution and don't want to be pushed into extras and line speeds you don't need would recommend highly.

“Refreshingly easy compared to some big name providers”

When we approached XLN initially, our business wasnt listed with royal mail and we had been messed about for months by the provider we were going to go with. XLNs prices were cheaper than the competitor, plus I heard good things about them from a business owning friend of mine. XLN gave me a date that they planned to have the phone and internet working by - unfortunately that date was pushed back by the royal mail issue. But without worrying me about it, XLN registered us with royal mail so now our address comes up in the prefilled address info for the postcode. About a month later, I wanted to have the facility to set up call divert to my mobile. I spoke to a lady and she started the ball rolling with that, true to her word all was set up within 48 hours! Everytime I called XLN I have spoken to someone who knows what they are doing and isnt reading from a script - something the other company could learn from if they werent so big that they didnt care! The only thing I wasn't so impressed about was the fact the phone number given on the website isnt a normal landline number, so isnt covered by my mobile tariffs free calls. If that was different, I would have given 5 stars, but if thats my only issue then its not a bad company at all! I dont tend to recommend places often, but I do recommend XLN

I needed to print out some invoices for my accountant and need to back track quitea few months. i done an online chat and my request was sent to my personal email almost immediately after conirming my name and address. thought it would be a loot longer to sort out but only took me a few minutes. extremly happy

I have been with XLN for quite some time . few months back I recommended a friend to XLN waiting to get the £35.00 rewards for the last 3 months I was promised and never happened. Out of desperation asked a very kind lady in XLN to look into my none payment of the rewards. Within a day she came back to me telling me it was all sorted out and confirmed it by an e-mail that the rewards has been granted. She was so very helpful, also apologised for the delay. She gave an excellent customer service and I am very happy with XLN . Thank you.

“Twitter Query”

We were having issues with slow broadband speed and placed a question twitter to see if it was a geographic problem. Within 20 minutes we received a call from Gareth who diligently went through the issue with me. We moved the router from it's current position and Gareth also noticed the interference on the line. Once the broadband was working he also undertook a line check which cleared the interference. Thank you for your help!

“Best customer service I've received in a long time”

I left BT after 10 years of loyalty because they were unwilling to give me a router that wasn't antiquated and would work with my wireless mac and printer, despite me paying them 56.00 a month for a line and a broadband connection! I then called talk talk who were unable to provide me with a service as my business address did not appear on Royal Mails website. I then called XLN who have helped me identify the problem worked as far as they can to resolve the Royal mail issue, which is now being resolved, and from start to finish have provided an excellent service at a really competitive price, with a better than average quality product. My account manager, and has made sure that I've been kept informed from start to finish and has even taken the time to call me to make sure the effortless switch over went well for me. No more automated helplines, waiting on hold or phoning India, just proper, friendly human being you can talk to anytime you need to! Thank you XLN for a great service.

“Broadband support are excellent!”

We have a card machine through Elavon and they use an American company called Trustwave to run the PCI compliance checks. As part of their checks they electronically scan the line. When I first got the machine 4 months ago the line was failing the test eventually after a month we resolved it through XLN closing off portals etc. Today after 4 months of successfully passing the tests we received a monthly report saying we failed. I phoned XLN technical support who initially said they couldn't help and I had to buy a new router. After 'discussing' it with the adviser at length he got Mark Woodhead to ring me back. Mark was extremely helpful. He explained he had come up against this issue a couple of times before with other customers and had rung another American PCI compliance check company called 'Security Matrix' apparently they worked together to find a solution. Mark helped me implement this protocol on my router, subsequently I ran the vulnerability scan again and we passed! Mark said they are in the process of cascading this protocol to all in the technical team and that's why the first adviser wasn't aware and struggled to understand my issue. Mark is a credit to XLN. He has truly gone above and beyond. From previously understanding there was a real issue that previous customers had, found a solution and as a result helped me. PCI compliance failure is a major concern for SMEs as you are fined daily and monthly for not complying. So thank you Mark. You are not only a credit to XLN but to yourself as an individual, displaying ownership and a high level of customer understanding and needs.

“So much better than BT (so far)”

Having been with BT for 3.5 years, the first real technical glitch I'd ever had and suddenly the threat of huge charges started appearing. I looked up the options and XLN appeared on my radar so I thought I'd check them out. All I really wanted was working and reliable broadband and a phoneline where I could hear people on the other end. Even though it's still BT's line they had threatened a potential bill of £235+VAT for sending out an engineer even though they admitted it was highly likely to be the line and they needed to fix it. So there wasn't likely to be a charge, but if it was discovered to be anything other than the line the charge would be in place. I discussed it with my sales advisor at XLN (Yanis) and although a similar policy was in place the potential charge was less than a quarter of the amount. A much more acceptable risk. The other advantage was the potential to save on our bill. We haven't had one yet to prove it, but it looks like we will be close to £10 per month better off. Nothing spectacular, but an improvement is just that and every little helps. We were going to lose a few services by switching, but the important one to us (caller Id) was given to us for free and we were also given free calls to mobile numbers for a year on a 2 year contract. None of these things were what sold me, I just wanted the phone to work again and the broadband to stop dropping without the threat of a huge bill. But the transition was smooth. The modem sent out in a timely manner. The changeover just happened and as soon as it did and we noticed the caller Id wasn't in place and the broadband was dropping I got in touch. The engineer was sent out the next morning and it was all repaired by lunchtime. And the caller Id was in place a further 24hrs down the line. We have had no issues since. The broadband speeds are a little higher since the repair and have been 100% reliable. The static we had on our phone line is gone and if we are going to see savings on our bills too, then it's all a win for me. Our sales advisor, Yanis, was extremely helpful and hasn't disappeared since signing us up. He has replied to all my enquiries and so far I can't fault the service. Obviously it's early days and you never know how things will go in the long run, but I'm always a little tentative about using companies without reviews from people I know or previous experience. However, my options were limited based on our location, so I had to take the plunge and thus far, I'm very glad I did. I am tempted to leave 4 stars because I think it takes longer to assess if something truly is a 5 star service, but because there is nothing I can really say would mark them down so far I have to give them 5 stars. The best a telecommunication service can be is unnoticeable and I actually hope I just forget about them now. Where BT failed XLN triumphed so I would certainly recommend them.

We switched from BT (download speed 1.6K) to XLN, the download registered 16.00K, and on occasions we see over 20K. This is the line that BT said could not carry over 8K maximum, and still they were charging us business rates. XLN are providing good consistent service. That's all we need. Brill!

I have been with XLN for 8 months on their fibre package. Installation went really smoothly the engineer came and installed my router and did some tinkering with the phone box, and XLN text me when my broadband was ready to be used. I'm amazed at how quick the internet works we have 8 people using the internet in the office and it never slows down even when we are all running skype or uploading videos. we're very pleased with what we have and have earned £75 off our bill by recommending XLN to our friends.

A BT customer for years, eventually I got worn down by their long IVRs and holding on because advisors were talking to someone else - hint, BT - EMPLOY ENOUGH PEOPLE TO SERVICE YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!. Time for a change - my time is my money! I scoured the internet, called a few on spec and XLN Telecom came up trumps - real easy salesman talked me through the options and I picked a £29.95 deal that got me unlimited calls, unlimited broadband ( i need that with all my iPad streming) and included line cost too. I also got 500 mins of mobile - don't know how they do it but cracking deal. Saved about £40 a month. Cheers XLN! Switch was easy, though BT called me endlessly - got cheesed off with them quickly - I was buying from them, not married to them!!!

Switched from BT after looking around. Discounted some odd sounding companies I'd never heard of and came across these. 130,000 customers and seemed solid. Switch over was easy. They sent me a wireless router for £15 and I simply plugged it in and it worked. Broadband speed is faster than BT, so happy days. I get a monthly bill, the first one higher than I expected, but I understand why - to do with prebilling apparently. So all up I'd recommend. Normally people just come online to bleat about bad service and I get that, so I thought I'd buck the trend and say thanks and well done!
