I am beginning to get very suspicious as to the validity of reviews for a number of Companies, Are they being trashed by competitors , are some of the good ones written by bloggers paid to give glowing reports ? I can only take people as I find them and try to be as trueful as possible. My wife ,who is expanding her business signed up for telephone and broadband she is very reliant on having a reliable phone and broadband service at a fair price with no hidden extras. The day she signed up she checked the reviews and the results were frightening, examples of money taken from accounts without explanation, customers being bombarded with sales call offering additional services . Within a short time she received a call asking is she wanted Merchant services ie:- credit card machine . This worried her as it was one of the concerns frequently mentioned in the reviews, so she decided to cancel her order which she did within one hour of placing it and followed this up in writing, she subsequently received a call from the girl who arranged the broadband telling her off for wasting her time organising the contract. Now for the positive side Their phone was always answered almost immediately and without all the annoying automated questions ( BT who she subsequently went with take up to 10 minutes to put you through to someone.) The package offered was an excellent deal and hundreds of pounds cheaper than any other Company ,I phoned to speak to them about our refund of charges original made and was told it would be dealt with that day, but would take a few days to get back into her account and true to their word, the full refund arrived within 3 days. Overall a prompt and efficient service other than a few minor hiccup as mentioned above so as I initially asked ,why writes these atrocious reviews ?

Have not called customer services much, but the few times I have the people there are polite and sort out the problem v quickly. I have phone line and broadband. V cheap!

So as of now I'm v pleased with XLN. Even though I hate call centers I was just glad it was a UK based one who were great on the phone, i spoke to a really nice guy who sorted out my issue (late installation) very quickly! Plus I am saving about 15 quid a month to my last provider.

So I'm now happy with XLN after a bad start. I hate call centres but when my engineer failed to show up to install my line, I was straight on the phone to a UK call centre (thank god) and spoke to a really nice guy who pretty much sorted it out for me really fast. Plus I'm already saving about 15 quid a month which is adding up nicely.

We had an Internet problem and staff very helpful and even called back to double check all ok!

I did have some teething problems with XLN's broadband service - but after upgrading to a Draytek 2820N the download speed is now nearly 15mb. I found the XLN techies helpful and courteous. I would recommend them as they are cheaper than BT and the ADSL is, in my experience, much better.
