“Avoid, it's a horrid place”

Went to this park for my birthday . I wish i hadn't !! Hygiene is a clear issue on park. Rubbish , food and caravan was dirty . Water was so hot in the bathrooms it could burn the kids ! avoid!!!! Toilets had urine and tissue on floors . Arcade machines where broken .Golf course was pitiful and rundown. Swimming was over booked !Bowling advertised was not useable. Given a glass with hair and refused to give a fresh drink ! Had two rusty screws on a chair that poked through the leather in the venue cutting into the backs of my legs . Huge health and safety issue!I could go on but if you are wanting somewhere safe for your kids to enjoy a holiday avoid! Complaints has made made while staying and after leaving!

“Never again”

We were supposed to stay here a week we stayed one night we had no electric and our caravan sunk on the water logged pitch, the whole surrounds were over grown the trees knocked on the caravan and the hedges were a disgrace reported it to reception they wanted us to move for one night after we had unpacked to come back to this pitch before 10am the next morning as the temporary overnight pitch was booked out to someone else we said we would stay as long electric was sorted out as promised the next morning, we were assured by the maintenance man it would, next day no electrician arrived we went back to reception and spoke to a manager whom apologised to us and said she would try sort something out we went back up later as asked by her (by the way they never answer the phone) and was told she had not sorted owt out as she didn't have time . The manager was very blasé about our stay and it came across that she really did not care that our holiday was ruined i asked her for a move she said they were full and could not offer us another pitch (funny that because i checked on their website and it said they had 2 pitches available after i spoke to her) i asked the manager if we left could we have a full refund as no point staying when we had no electric so could not use our caravan she agreed its been 9 days one reply from customer services stating they will pass on my complaint and nothing else i am so upset they ruined our holiday . I worked as a nurse on a covid ward and this was our first break it was supposed to be a relaxing time yet here i am on my first day crying out of frustration that Park dean resorts employ people whom have no care or compassion for their clients i will worn everyone i know about the way this site treats people its disgusting and i still have not received my refund which i was assured by the manager when i was leaving that she had authorised my refund!!!!!!!

“Disappointed”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KaylinKoch443 on 17/06/2017

Booked through Hoseasons. Some areas of the site are very tired as are some of the caravans. The one we were allocated on arrival was not what I had booked or expected. The van was dated, one of two toilets leaked. the shower had mould around the foot well and a black discolouration running down out of the hinges of the shower door. The gas fire was difficult to ignite and caused condensation throughout the van when used. Toilets in the pool area were out of order with instructions to use the ones in the restaurant, which were not kept clean throughout the day. The restaurant was undermanned with untrained staff. Some tables still had not been cleared by the time we left and the carpet was soiled with remnants of food in many places. There was no flexibility from the booking in staff to allow us in our van even though it was raining heavily and we had just driven for six hours or more. The one polite person we encountered was a security man who came to the assistance of my wife.

Lets just say I booked a week and came back early. I travelled with hubby and two kids 2 and 4. The caravan was so dirty. Bed linen stained, dishes dirty etc.

The brochure and website say direct access to beach. There is no direct access to the beach as the road has been closed off with signs everywhere. Basically the waves are bringing the clifftop down and it is very dangerous! The Costa Coffee was always closed. In the amusements there were broken handles on games etc which could easily hurt someone.

I just want everyone to know what I never. So disappointed in the accomodation and the poor cleanliness.

Oh dear.. its such a shame that the park cant control the sea and coastal erosion. Maybe you should write them a letter asking them to control their sea levels?

Just returned from 5 nights at Skipsea Sands. The touring pitches are excellent, all tents and caravans are allocated numbered pitches, and we were lucky enough to get a pitch hedged on three sides. The showers and toilets are cleaned on a regular basis and we did not have to queue for facilities. We were unlucky enough to get very drunken noisy neighbours for the first night, but they left after the bank holiday.
The kids enjoyed the playground and Sparky's Crew Club entertainment. We always give the bingo a miss, but the Madness tribute act was excellent.
The pool is clean and warm with spacious changing facilities.
The bar prices are average and the breakfasts are good value for money.
Value for money? - yes - we paid just £70 for 5 nights for 5 people.
Will We go back? - most probably.

Just returned. holidayed with daughter and grandchildren 8 and 11 years.
Overall pleased with the park. Very clean and felt safe.
Park just outside the village of skipsea overlooking the eroding coastline. no access to beach due to unstable coast, but can be accessed by going into Ulrome, the next village on the way to Bridlington.
Didn't use the restaurant on this occasion but usual fast food pub style. Some meals were 2 For £10 so not OTT price wise.
Our caravan was the basic Bronze standard but was clean, no unpleasent smells! We had new carpets and matresses on the beds, bed linen was in good condition. We had been worried about the cleanliness and was prepared to clean if necessary.
All beds made up for our arrival which is included in the price and microwave ovens are standard. there was also a welcome tray of tea, coffee, milk etc. This was a park owned caravan so I was pleased with my accomodation, the little extras were a nice touch.

We had a car so visited Bridlington [beautiful beach],Danes Dyke [nature reseve with pebble/sand beach], Whitby, Eden camp at Malton. A bus visits the park, reception have timetables and lots of info about the area.

All staff were helpful and very efficient.
Would like to return again which is a good recommendation

written by Paula1165 on 05/01/2009

Just returned after a New Year break at Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, Yorkshire. Shop not open, pool closed, ten pin bowling opened after complaints. Restaurant closed. Entertainment poor. No entertainment during the day for kids. Freezing cold New Years Eve venue. By 10.30 this room was empty and everybody was cramming into the concert room. Very poor lighting on car park. Only good point was it was a lovely clean site.

Freezing cold? What do you expect at the beginning of the year?? Why dont you spend more money and go in a peak time when you know it will be warmer?? Just seems to me like your the type to complain about anything after spending very little!
