Final Fantasy 10 is overall an alright game; graphics are good and it has a good storyline, however it is very long and every few minutes there is a movie scene where you just sit there and watch! Overall, it is probably worth the money, but only because it is cheap.

I remember when I first purchased the UK version of Final Fantasy VI, with which, came a demo of FFX: the main reason I bought it. I started to play the demo, and found it an awe inspiring ride. Zanarkand, the opening location was amazing. Besaid, the other demo location, was also a true FF production. And so I waited in greater anticipation until finally - finally - it came.
And so I got into the game, got past what I already knew - Besaid. And it was then I realised that Square had given us the icing on the cake in the demo, the sugar in our cups of tea. The futuristic and dizzy heights of Zanarkand were gone, all that was left was shoddy Spira that had the potential of FFVII's world, but failed dreadfully. This wasn't it...was it? I felt there had to be something more that would come - some huge explosion of gameplay that would suddenly make it as involving, important and spectacular as previous FF's. But nothing happened.
Throughout, FFX instead felt like the strangulation of somethig beautiful that became something dry, empty, and quite frankly, boring. This will sound extremely hard on the game, but don't get me wrong, it's a great game - it's just not a great FF game.
There are some truly buttock-clenchingly-bad scenes in the game, largely due to the abysmal voice acting of Tidus and Yuna. Their relationship was not a relationship like previous ones - there was no depth or substance.
Truly though, there are times when the tedious teen-comedy-romance imitation scenes become a bit too much, and in no time, you'll be wanting to throw your PS2 out of the window because it's just too damned cheesy.
If there was only one compliment I could give FFX, it's that it had one of those priceless characters that are near-impossible to find these days - the sort that you respect, sympathize with, and geuninly care about. Fans of the series will recognise characters such as Vivi to this sort of description, but I'm talking of course, about Auron.
Auron made this game for me, and I think that had it not been for him, my PS2 might just have gone out of the window.

This game is better than Kuja gives credit. While not as good as its predessesors it is still an excellent game. While I disagree with some of Kuja's comments, although some rang true, R.R's comment that FF VIII was rubbish. Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are the two Final Fantasy games created (that I've played. Sadly I have not yet played 1-6, and I didn't like 9 very much at all.) They all deserve much more credit than any of you give them.

I totally disagree with this review! Do you understand the word FANTASY!! Spira is designed to give a fantasy feel to the game not to give you a stupid cyber-junk feel like FF VIII. The PS2 has brought Final Fantasy to life!

Hey it's me, I have played on this game a lot more and a lot of what I said was true but I think I judged it too quick...it's actually a really good game.
