This machine is horrific to use. You can not put a specific programme on, it ignores you!!. It is not possible NOT TO USE the time saver as it turns itself on and cant turn it off.

RUBBISH DO NOT GET IT.

This machine is only 6 years old and already broken. It wasn't cheap at the time either. Ordered the broken part only to be sent the wrong one after 2 weeks of waiting then told that they no longer have the exact part but the part they sent would fit if a hoover engineer was to fit it at a cost of over £120.00. Needless to say I wont be buying anything form hoover again. As a machine the washing cycles take way too long - all round not impressed by anything.

Went for a brand name thinking it was a safe bet, how wrong we were, will never buy another Hoover product ever again and have warned friends and family not to buy anything made by Hoover.

The Machine was ok for about the first two weeks, then problem after problem which were fixed as luckily we purchased an extended warranty.

The filter clogs up and has to be cleaned every 3 weeks, which is quite a messy job, the noise the spin cycle makes is like if we were drying a load of bricks and the amount of time the dryer took to dry the clothes, which could last all night, leaking water so every month we had to pull machine out and clean behind the machine, detergent drawer kept on clogging up cleaned every month and eventually had to be replaced twice in the first year, the filter cover kept falling of on the spin cycle and also had to be replaced twice.

The problems we've had with this machine is endless, if I could give this product a minus rating I would.

Will now buy the Samsung eco-bubble washer dryer as recommended by friends.

Went with a big bang but maintenance man said the board was ok but no drive left so completely dead and unrepairable. Now have to buy a new product but not purchasing Hoover again.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WRITTEN BY PREVIOUS REVIEWERS BREAKS DOWN FREQUENTLY ,ONCE OUT OF WARRANTY ITS YOUR OWN PROBLEM. DEFINATELY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND

Our Hoover Nexta 8 washing machine is approximately 2 years old and has never functioned well. One of the paddles on the drum fell off, fortunately within warranty. After we got past the obligatory "well that's never happened before" and "have you been washing trainers in it" questions the Hoover engineer reluctantly turned up and repaired it. Virtually from new the machine has often decided to mark some whites with a thick black streak so we have to run the machine empty at peak temperature and that sort of stops it. It has now started to flash 7 times and stopped, reading other reviews that seems quite common. I am certainly not going to waste good money after bad and call an engineer out, just start looking for a new machine and it won't be a Hoover!

Argggggggg!! This machine drives me insane, it does not do what you want it to do half the time, just goes on any old cycle it wants, sometimes after using the dryer it will then fill up with water and wash the clothes again and then the dryer will no go back on, it just re-washes, had an engineer out 3 times to this machine, Dont get one!

The experience we had is similar to other Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 owners. Now, just a month out of its retailer's warranty it has stopped working altogether: starts a wash but then stops within a few minutes. Given that we've had the service engineer out to look at the machine several times in the last twelve months, we don't feel inclined to pay (now we're out of warranty)for the engineer to come again. It feels like a hopeless case. In the past yeat the filter has clogged up weekly, the wash selector has found it difficult to make a firm decision on whether to wash or dry clothes, the tumble drier has lost its heat and now we can't get a wash cycle out of it.

The service and support was good (through Comet) - other than that I would struggle to find anything good to say about it. Awful piece of kit. When did washing machines become yearly disposables?

We bought our Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF 7148 with some deliberation but decided that the size and energy efficiency spoke for itself, but the extra effort in getting the clothes ironed flat after a normal wash cycle made up for it.

Like many others we have had trouble from the start with the filter blocking... this would be ok if you could get the machine emptied with ease but every three weeks to unclog the machine is a bit excessive.

We too had to have the engineer out as the machine "had a mind of its own" and would not heat up on a drying cycle. The engineer told us that this was a common thing with this make and 6 months later the dryer is now not working again.....we have decided that a new machine is in order and WILL NOT BE BUYING A HOOVER WASHER DRYER AGAIN - very disappointed.

Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 is Quite simply dreadful. it's unreliable and when it does work the wash quality is poor compared to previous washing machines. Spend your money on something else!
