Cancellation Policy

I took out a motorcycle insurance policy last year which cost £73 pounds. Having sold the motorcycle recently i cancelled my policy. The policy had 245 days left to run but the cost to me for cancellation was £75.

On reading the policy document; with hindsight, it states clearly after 14 days there is a fee of £75 for cancellation. it costs £25 if you cancel within 14 days. However, quite how they justify a fee of £75 which is more than the policy itself is I believe unreasonable.

I would nt use this company again if this is an example of their practice and a warning to any other prospective customer.

Loyalty Means Nothing

I have been with a quote for 6 years. I made a change of address and got a quote for a new bike 1.5 months before my current policy was due to expire. The change of address was completed and a new quote provided and agreement that there would be no admin costs as I was so close to my remewal date. I bought my new bike and called them to change the bike on the policy. Now I am told there is an admin fee of £25. I state that I have been told this would be waived. The person says nothing they can do. I feel lied to and cheated. I went elsewhere for the insurance for my new bike. Much cheaper. I had to pay a £75 cancellation fee. Even with this it was cheaper.

Money grabbers with no customer loyalty. Never ever use this company. They don't care about you at all.

Money Grabbers, Dont Be Sucked In.

I've been with A Quote for a number of years having always found them to be competitive, but they are obviously very keen to get your business, as they call a number of times before your renewal date, to see if you want to renew, I normally ask them to call me on the renewal date, as it gives me time to get other quotes if I want to. 3 years ago, I renewed my policy with no problems, but a number of weeks later, they called me asking for an additional payment, as my name had been on a policy that had had a claim in the last 12 months. The claim in question related to a lady driving into another of our vehicles whilst it was parked, and she admitted liabilty and her Insurance company covered the cost of the vehicle repair, this vehicle was also insured with another company and is my Wifes car, but I'm on the Policy. Yesterday, I had a call saying that they'd had a report of my vehicle being in an accident in December last year that I'd not declared! WRONG, this accident was my Daughter in HER car, and was in HER name on a Multicar policy, again with a different company, although I have a vehicle on that policy. I explained this and also the fact that there is a pattern forming of them wanting more money after renewal, for totally alien claims!! I've heard nothing back yet, but please be aware that the price that they quote may be cheap, but they could be back for more. If I do hear back from them, i'm taking it to the Insurance Ombudsman.

This Company Were The Best This Time Around.

Thanks to AQUOTE, just renewed with them, provided a good multibike policy backed by AVIVA, on the mark with the price. Tasha the rep was knowledgable polite and phoned back as and when arranged. There was no pressure put on for bolt ons everything was explained.

I would like to thank DARREN 0652, ADAM 0516 and MARK 0519 at Aquote for their collective help in sorting a problem for me with reference to my bike private plate change over nightmare.

I have been insuring my motorbikes with Aquote since 2005 and this is the first time I really needed their help.

Background is I had some issues with the change over of adding a private plate to my bike. the 3 lads managed to sort things at their end without any fuss, allowing me to keep the bike on the road whilst things got sorted. Even better, Darren kindly explained my situation to their manager (a guy called Andy I believe) who very kindly agreed in this case, not to charge me fees. My thanks also goes to Andy for this kind gesture.

Whilst chatting to Mark 0519 this morning to finalise the new plate being legal and making the bike ready to go, which took one 5 minute call by the way, It was mentioned in general conversation that there is now from January 2012, a new team of bikers who run the bike insurance.

I did say to Mark 0519 I had seen the old bad reviews online and I know people do have problems at times. However I felt it only fair to share my experience of what I can only describe as my excellent service received.

Thanks for everything lads, Oh...and Mark, now i have finished this review,, I am now going to wheel the bike out, new plate fitted 8-)) and enjoy my day off work in the sun...to buy that card for the wife's birthday. peace to the earholes... you know it makes sense...wink.

This Is A Terrible Company **avoid Avoid*** At All Costs!

THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY **AVOID AVOID*** AT ALL COSTS!

During a none fault accident in 2002 I wasn't even in my car this firm did nothing but add to the stress they lied to me that the other side are not admitting liability delayed importance that was vital to me in the end I had to call the other side insurance and co-operate directly luckily I had some good legal cover they were great at the time during the claim process I said to two of their customer staff "just you wait till this claim is settled I will never use you again I'd rather pay a few hundred more elsewhere'

From 2002 thought I'd heard the last of A-Quote then this crypt firm got in touch with me during my insurance renewal date of April 2006 they had bought out my last insurance broker: Direct choice and taken over their affairs I received A-quotes large letter through the post and didn't think much of it and delay opening it thought it rather should be in the shredder.

What I realized they had set me on a monthly instalment plan through credit Co which I have never requested and they had included the insurance policy and other details for the insurance to commence this they had done without my prior knowledge without having spoken to me I was furious rang them up had a right go at them told them of my terrible experience with them back in 2002 and cancelled the policy immediately lucky I did within the 7days otherwise the credit Co which they had set up would had cost me £££ I should had reported them.

Needs An Internal Shake Up Before They Lose All Customers

Have been with aquote several years always found them cheap and quick, however this year has been frough with problems. Had my renweal come through and over the next 5 days eveings only called and sat and sat waiting for the answer phone message to stop and be able to speak with someone. One evening I left the phone on hands free with their ongoing mesage telling me im next in the que I had my tea watched some news before I gave up and tried another evening, this was to give them some money for renewal. Eventally managed to renew, then had to wait and wait for my renewal insurance certs which I chased twice over the next 5 weeks. Still not had them and have now been promised them on email. My bike tax is about to expire and until they come im stupmed despite paying for this over 5 weeks ago. One thing is for sure I will not allow myself to go through all this again next year

Avoid Like The Plague!!!

firstly they mannaged to get my reg wrong, which i only found out when i couldnt renew my road tax.

and if you cancel or try and end the insurance, be prepared for a shock and unpleasent staff, trying to charge you upto 50% of the remaining balance .... i found this out when paying monthly. there level of cover isnt that good either.

I will never use them again ..... ever!

Don't Go Near This One

Terrible, terrible, terrible, been phoning them since before 9 September, phone rings out, 2 of their lines are now dead, put on hold and never get through. Someone takes your details and will phone you back - they never do. Total disaster - worst insurance company i have dealt with in over 2o years.
