Having looked at many different kitchen retailers, we chose Homebase as their prices couldn't be beaten and we were on a tight budget. We ordered through the Tunbridge Wells store and the service could not have been better. There was a problem with delivery which meant we had to pay our builders to put the carcasses together, but we got a refund for this from the store. The kitchen is fabulous and looks just as good as a Magnet or higher-end kitchen. Don't be put off by reviews, take a risk and do it.

After reading some reviews on here after ordering my kitchen from home base, I was pretty much dreading the whole thing to be honest but luckily for me, I can honestly say that everything has gone well from start to finish. The kitchen designer was great and really helped in getting the best out my fairly small kitchen. This home visit was followed by an equally productive visit in store where I was talked through the impressive 3D design. After ordering and payment was made, I was frequently contacted by home base regarding fitting dates and times and was given a number to call for any questions or queries I had. there was a glitch regarding the cooker I had ordered being out of service but I soon sorted this and actually got a very similar model for two hundred pounds less elsewhere. The person I spoke to about the cooker hiccup was extremely apologetic and offered to help source me another model. On fitting day the team arrived promptly and completed the fit a day earlier than planned. I was called twice during fitting to keep me updated and the fitter was friendly, professional and did a superb job. I am waiting for a bulb to be replaced in the extractor fan and a small dint to one of the panels is going to be replaced next week but everything else is spot on and I am really impressed with the service I have relcieved from Sheffield homebase and can't wait to get my cupboards full and get busy in my swanky new kitchen! Really am sorry for the folks on here who have had bad experiences as I can only imagine how hellish that would be but in this instance, homebase have done a great job and I will be recommending to family and friends.

We have just had a Schreiber kitchen fitted and are very pleased with the result. The fitters were all professional and friendly. Homebase customer service dealt with all matters and kept us informed at all times. Overall a very smooth operation. Would recommend.

From start to finish we were pleased with our new kitchen. delivery and fitting went smoothly with calls from home base every step of the way. We really can't fault all involved. One year on and a part required replacing. I contacted the after sales team and within one week this part was delivered and replaced, amazing service that you do not often see well done homebase.

We ordered our Odina kitchen from Ruislip Homebase in June and it arrived exactly the time we were told with plenty of notice for kitchen fitter Homebase e mailed us before and after to check we were happy and that everything we had ordered had arrived Odina delivered everything we had ordered on the same day and we are extremely happy with it and the quality We were very happy with the level of service right from the beginning with all the staff especially the kitchen planner who was always very helpful and did a wonderful job and we now have a kitchen to be proud of.

I was a little dismayed at the start of ordering our kitchen. The designer reluctantly fitted us in and then kept us waiting quite a while with no apology once we were in store. He wasn't particularly charismatic, but he seemed to know what he was doing and there was no hard sell of extras, just suggestions. Disappointed that we didn't get full length end panels - not knowing about kitchens, it wasn't until it came to fitting them that we discovered, through looking at kitchen pictures online, that end panels are supposed to be longer than the units, but ours weren't, on both top and bottom units, and so it wasn't as a nice finish as it could have been, but still looks good - luckily. The kitchen was delivered on time and when we discovered some minor errors this was rectified extremely easily and delivered very quickly. The quality is very good, despite us only ordering a basic range (Chancery gloss white) for a very good price and it takes a daily battering from my brood very well.

We spent a good deal of time in the Norwich Hall Road Homebase choosing our new kitchen - we have waited a long time for it. The salesman was very helpful. The kitchen arrived within the quoted timescales and fitted well. Nice quality units (Schreiber and maia worktop - bosch appliances) There were a couple of issues - cooker out of stock, a couple of doors and handles missing but these were all sorted out with no fuss. Happy with end result. Pretty pain free experience.

We are very pleased with our lovely new kitchen. Homebase Frome were so helpful, from the visit by the kitchen adviser to our home, offering ideas and solutions, through preparing the plans and brilliant 3D image. After the order was placed we managed to find the worktops cheaper elsewhere so Homebase changed the order to price match. The kitchen was delivered when expected and nothing was missing. We had a family member to fit it for us, who is very experienced. His only criticism was that the backs of the units were quite flimsy, but as we had a Hygiena product which is the cheaper end of the market this was expected as obviously the cost has to be cut somewhere. A few extras were needed, such as two different hinges, a shelf and a few centimetres of cornice, we went into the store on bank holiday Monday and al of the items were delivered without question on Thursday. The communication was excellent, we received phone calls several times to update us on delivery dates and times. The kitchen looks absolutely gorgeous. We did however use our own very experienced and highly skilled fitter.

Cannot fault glenrothes homebase .from the start the kitchen designer was fantastic, pity I cannot name him. He is a very patient guy who understood exactly what I wanted. The kitchen is now fitted and yes I did have a couple of gripes, but nothing that is not fixable. Overall I am happy with the finnished result and like everyone else I am quick to complain so I am very glad that this time I am quick to praise.

From the very beginning of choosing a new kitchen from Homebase I found the staff and the installers were very friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable at all times. My kitchen was completely gutted and a new one installed including new appliances. The installers were very skilled and friendly and I am delighted with the final result, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone wanting a new kitchen. Thank you .

We bought an Odina kitchen that was delivered in August this year. Bit daunting receiving dozens of boxes, the units are all built so you need plenty of space. It is fairly obvious from the outset that you are not expected to install Odina yourself but at £5k to fit it and being pretty competent I decided to do it myself. You would think as the units are all built how hard can it be? Well, it is a fairly big kitchen, lots of units and toys, three ovens needing a 6mm supply each and decided to fit a new ring ain as well, that took a couple of weeks prior to the units arriving. The units, niche cladding and end panels for this particular kitchen were numerous and bespoke sizes but delivered without and plan as to where they each go. Like getting a big Airfix kit with no plans. An "installation" box of many different parts, plugs, connectors etc.a list of these contents in German but even translated it didn't give a clue as to where they go. The "Installation Manual" doesn't give you many clues either. Figured out about 60% of them. The very very helpful guy on Odina at Rayleigh is an ex-fitter and absolute diamond, gave loads of advice and sorted out an order put together by a former employee with duff measurements and missed items on my delivery. Also very patiently helped me unravel which panel went where in the kitchen and which were the wrong sizes (only two). Be warned, any mistakes theirs or yours and you usually have to wait for around four weeks for a "remedial delivery". Cannot over-emphasise though that in the event of a problem the staff at Rayleigh are very friendly and bend over backwards to help. However, it has taken about four weeks from cabinet delivery and it is now virtually finished bar a few lights and splash of paint. The Odina units are the best quality I have ever come across, I spent over a year looking at the competition and thought I'd have to resort to one of these posh High Street bespoke places. Superb build quality, door and draw mechanisms, it has been a pleasure working with the product. Guaranteed for 25 years as well! My new ambition is to be around to claim in 24 years time. If you don't already know Odina is made by Nobilia in Germany and they have a huge share of the European market. Expensive kit, coupled with Siemens appliances I expect this kitchen to see me out, well worth the money, easily half the price of the high street bespoke installers but unless you are very capable at DIY get the man in! Thanks to all at Rayleigh Homebase Odina kitchens.

A great service from Homebase Salisbury from design through to fitting our new Schrieber Kitchen. We went for the Audley bone range with Miaia Fossil worktop and oak work top on other side of kitchen. Homebase planner was very diligent and two home surveys ensured fitting went to plan. No issues with delivery and the kitchen fitter looked after everything from then on. We chose Homebase having visited a range of suppliers but were really impressed with their personal service. We went for the Maia worktops from John Porter worktops online as homebase prices were a 1/3rd more. Fair play to the planner and the store manager, they tried to match the price but the regional manager wouldn't approve. We also went online for appliances as again they were cheaper. But the units with discount applied were superb value and I am really impressed with the quality. Laura Ashley tiles offset really well. The only thing the planner missed off the whole order was tile trim but easily resolved when the tiler came in. I would highly recommend Homebase Sailsbury. It is important to have a good idea of the layout you are after and some pretty accurate measurements to help with the initial design and outline costings. From then on they were great.

As this was a German Kitchen it took 3/4 months to be delivered (ordered December 2013,mid April work began. The quality of the kitchen and the installer work was good. Unfortunately the main kitchen work surface got damaged during transit and needed replacing. The fitter put the damaged worksurface i, so I had a working kitchen. Unfortunately I had to wiat 4/5 weeks until the replacement worksurface and final installation including tiling was completed. It too almost 6 months to complete, but I was happy with the kitchen quality and the standard of work. I did not sub-contract the installation so my guarantee for the kitchen continues. A recwent slight leak was fixed quickly (a nut needed tightening, but I did not touch anything as mu guarantee might be impacted). Sorted now and really like my kitchen. Painful waiting so long, but worth it in the end.

My husband and I had quotes from 3 well known kitchen fitting companies, and Homebase was among them. We explained to each company that quoted for us that we would not be starting work on our new kitchen for at least six months, but wanted a rough idea of the cost involved. All three did us quotes at around the same value, and we went off undecided on who we were going to choose. If the personality of the person doing the quote was our sole criteria for buying a kitchen, Homebase would have won. At the time of getting quotes we were having repairs done to our home, and I suffer from OCD, which makes me very uncomfortable when my house is not clean and tidy and visitors are in. A member of staff was the only person quoting who picked up on how uncomfortable I was and invited us to finish the choices in store, if we would prefer. Six months later, I rang all 3 companies, as we had less of a budget to spend and were ready to go ahead if they could do a cheaper quote. One company said there was no way we could hope to get a decent kitchen for £3,000, another company said,’ our sales representative who called to see you and measure up has left the company, but we can arrange another home visit for you’. I said surely you have the notes she took and the measurements, without visiting my home again. They did not. I then rang her at Homebase. She asked immediately how the building work had gone and if it was all finished, which impressed me as it had been six months with no contact, and she remembered us. I then explained that our budget had more than halved, and she asked that we give her a week and she would get back to us. A week later, as promised, she rang and said I have planned it for you, would you prefer to see me in the store or a home visit. The kitchen was planned using the budget Homebase units, which gave us less choice on finishes and handles, but was perfect for our needs. She also helped me pick tile colours that would coordinate with the units and the work tops, as I lack any skill in coordinating colours. Our kitchen fitter, then came and visited our home to check all the measurements and advise on any changes needed to the design. That first visit impressed me, his professionalism and attention to detail is second to none, even I, who could make a stone chat to me, could not engage him in conversation while he was working. He advised us to change our worktops to a matt finish, and how much tiling would be needed around the room and gave us a price for this. We went ahead and ordered our kitchen, then discovered the one down side of Homebase is the follow up kitchen liaison service. I missed two calls from my kitchen liaison agent, so I rang back and gave the times I was available. I then received a letter telling me the day my kitchen would be delivered and asking some questions. One of these was ‘does a dustbin lorry fit down your street?’ The answer to that was yes, but an HGV, which is what the kitchen would be delivered in, would not fit down my street. However, I spoke to a very nice lady at the liaison service who sorted it out as a transit delivery and ensured we had our kitchen on time. Fitting day arrived and they were here at 7.45 ready to start work, and oh my goodness, did they work. They took out our old units and put in one side of the new units on the first day. They kept the area clean and tidy, and caused minimum disruption to our home. Any slight problems were brought to my attention immediately and options were given. We live in an old Victorian terraced house, so our walls are so far out some of them are horizontal arches! They have fitted our kitchen so well it now looks like a new build home with perfectly flat walls. The second day they came in and took away the old sink units and cupboards and fitted that side with the new units and the new sink. Nothing could have happened to make the kitchen fitting go any smoother, these guys are amazing, I truly believe if you asked him to install a kitchen in a cave he would find a way to make it look beautiful. If you are in the market for a new kitchen, Homebase are well worth a look, and when we get our bathroom refitted there will be no need to shop around, as Homebase will be receiving all our custom henceforth. When the kitchen was finished, he went through all the care instructions for my new units, worktops and sinks, they cleaned up the kitchen and left. Within two hours of them finishing the work, she rang me to see if I was happy with it. This little touch meant a lot, as have all the small details that Homebase seem to focus on for the customer. The area manager visited my house while the work was going on, and asked if I was happy, and gave his contact details for me to contact him if I needed to. My husband and I have noticed a decline in really good customer service over the last few years, and we are delighted to see a big company like Homebase taking control of their customer service in such a positive way. Well done and thank you from the delighted new kitchen owners

After much research and visiting of several different kitchen outfits, we opted for the Portland range from Homebase, Catford. We were happy in particular with Jim who designed the kitchen and we felt that the cost was competitive with other outfits. As we were having our whole kitchen ripped out we were told it would take two weeks to do and thanks to Ian, one of their installers, that's exactly how long it took. It should have taken a lot longer as disaster struck on the second day when removing the existing floor tiles a huge damp patch was discovered. Ian eventually located the problem, a leaking water pipe, and fixed it. From then on it was plain sailing and the whole job was done in the allotted time. We are more than pleased with the finished result and hope that the kitchen stands the test of time. The only minor issue we had was related to finance where we were told we could settle the amount in full on completion of the kitchen, but our finance application was declined as we are retired and do not have the necessary income level. No consideration was given to our cash assets. This must inconvenience a good proportion of their customers.

Hi, I have worked for Homebase for many years and have just recently left. I was a Showroom Consultant and very proud of my company, staff and customers. I loved my job and all my clients helping them design there ideal kitchen. I am not saying I never made mistakes or the customes forgot to tell me about a fuse box etc hidden behind a unit but hey were all human. But let me give you a few tips to help your project run smoothly. 1} It is your Kitchen and your money paying for it so take your time reading books and looking at designs before you make an appointment. 2) Know what style of kitchen you want, colour, worktop and any appliances taking a list of prices from anywhere as you WILL get it matched. 3) Allow at least 2-3 hours for your appointment allowing time for you to get to know your consultant and them to get to know you. A great relationship will benefit both parties. Trust me. 4) Homebase carcases are 15mm chipboard and doors are mdf or hdf board foil wraped, veneered , painted or solid wood with a veneer center panel. 5) Hinges are soft closing with drawers an opitional extra 6) 10 year guarantee on doors and carcases 7) Worktops are average but honestly wood ones are expensive. Get a price match. 8) Installation. Ok yes if you just look at the amount of time they are at your home you would say "God I'm in the wrong trade". But always remember you are insured if anything goes wrong. You have 3years Homebase Guarantee not the installers so if he goes belly up you have no problem. Yes you have the option to get your own fitters that is your choice but check the stock first. They will mess it up and blame homebase. 9) From the day of delivery you have 7 days to check the stock which is alot more then some other companys. So arrange delivery for start of installation not 6 weeks before. You can always delay you delivery but give them at least two weeks notice of a new delivery date. 10) Finance is an option homebase offer you and nobody apart from you benefits from it honestly. 11) NEVER NEVER NEVER just rely on the consultant for measurements. Check the measuements yourself and then get your fitter to check plans and stock before the proposed installation date. It is one of the largest single purchases you will buy for you home so take your time, research and know what you want. In the end they are the salesman and if you let them take control you can only blame yourselves. Enjoy the process ,have a laugh, ask for a coffee and go back as many times as you feel you need to,ask for an email address so you can ask questions, if you are not sure say NO they will be there tomorrow. I do hope this has helped you and gives you the chance to have an amazing kitchen and a pleasurable expierience. I do and did!!!!!!!

You do not have a 3 year guarantee on fitting. Our fitters were bad and we are still living with the consequences. Poor sealant around sink resulting in a swollen work surface. Area manage said work surface only guaranteed for a year and even if we had called them out within the year, he would not have covered it because it was caused by water damage!!!!! However as a good will gesture if we pay for a new one they will fit it for free, allowing for the damage that might occur to the tiles!!!!

I recently bought a Buckingham kitchen the most exspensive from Homebase cost about £10,000
the quality of the kitchen overall is very good delivery time was very good a no parts missing I did buy my own worktops which 40mm Iroko which look stunning and granite on the Island both were very exspensive but worth it and I did fit a Belfast sink and I think the kitchen was worth it,but I did fit the kitchen myself as I am a carpenter by trade

My Mum and dad have recently had their kitchen redone at a cost of around £30k and to be fair, its lovely. So I thought I would do up mine too, but on the cheap. I bought most of it from Homebase, apart from the worktop, and its was a fraction of the price, for essentially the same look and sadly the same quality of the stuff that they paid too. They were overcharged me thinks... Overall very pleased, gives a good finish and result. Dont pay more!

We purchased our kitchen earlier this year from the Homebase store in Bristol, longwell green. Both my husband and I were very happy with the outcome and especially the service given to us from the design and installation teams. We found the whole process stress free. This was because as all we had to do is take some initial measurements, and then choose which appliances we wanted and make some cosmetic selections. The designer came up with a few different design layouts for our kitchen and discussed with us what he had done and why. A few days later, the designer and his colleague visited our home and confirmed our measurements of the kitchen (which i must say were slightly out, so we were very happy that they were checked!). The installer came to our home within the following week and checked all our existing elcetrics to make sure the appliances we had chosen would be able to work efficiently. He also discussed with us our options with regards to where new sockets and lighting could be located. Once everything was confirmed, we were ready to place an order for our new kitchen...we were both very excited but also nervous at the same time as we thought we would have to pay for the kitchen at this point in time. However, we were offered a brilliant financial deal where we were given a whole year to pay the total sum without incurring any interest, and we didn't even have to pay a deposit. While at our home and in store all the staff were very friendly and the whole experience felt relaxed. We have since recommended the Homebase store in Bristol longwell green to many friends, who we can honestly say have also been as satisfied as us with thier purchase! We are now looking forward to christmas 2008, where we will be using our new Neff oven to cook dinner for the whole family!

The Odina kitchen worktops are supposed to be top quality - however we found that the surface is extremely thin and is not heat proof as we were told it was. It looks alright but we have had to buy a lot of chopping boards to cover the surfaces to protect it as it is easily damaged. We found this out the hard way when the surface started to bubble and crack very soon after delivery but Homebase did send someone down to repair it in situ in the end. They originally offered to replace all the work tops with something more hard wearing but when they realised how expensive it would be to dismantle the kitchen and do this they back tracked and even though we had emails showing that they promised to do this they refused to do so. The repair was reasonable in the end but we are left with a very fragile work surface instead of the hard wearing one we had been promised.
