Everything was great until I got my credit card report and saw they charged me €21.60 for the motorway, which I used twice, and it was around €3. I contacted them and they said it was admin costs and that is written on the contract, those very small letters! No one mentioned me a €1.85/day fee otherwise I would have said no. And the admin cost for the device is BS as I had that same device when living in Portugal and it has a cost of €26.50 one time only, and if you pay the tolls by direct debit there are no admin fees involved. I made a complaint, though I know I won't get anything from it as it's a he says she says situation, and it is written in the contract, those small horrible letters most people can't read, but I'll make sure to warn others for the future.

beware this company. will not accept car return before 8.00am unless you pay thhem 20 euros. this not made clear on hiring the car a few months ago but only when we had arrived and they had our card number. Therefore if you have an early flight you just have to agree their fine - they wll take it from you card anyway if you do not agree.why if there are staff at air autos to process your 'fine' why cannot they accept your car back before 8.00am. will never use them again

The windshield was a little damaged behind the rear view mirror, which is almost invisible from the outside and it is difficult to see it from the inside - this damage was not reflected in the defect list, and I noticed it already after left the parking. When receiving person inspected the car from all sides and said that all is well, he would like to check the level of fuel in the tank. Now imagine yourself, how often do you watch on the windshield or rear-view mirror, when you want to determine the level of fuel in the tank? An AirAuto employee have looked exactly where it is necessary, and he had a little interest of fuel level in the tank. After this was the procedure weaning 300 euros, with statements clearly shown how much that costs and explaining that I did not take the full insurance, and if I took it then no need to pay for the broken glass. I think that neither me first nor me last, who pays for the broken glass to this car. On arriving home, I was surprised by the large number of negative reviews about this company, which described a similar situation.

The administrative fee regarding the toll passages is imposed by the Portuguese Law, as stated in the Republic Diary, Ordinance 190/2013. As soon as you use the highway, we are allowed to charge an administrative fee of 1.50€ + VAT (1.85€) per rental day till a maximum amount of 15.00€ + VAT (18.50€) per month or per rental agreement.
This information is always given to you on the pick-up day. Airauto provides a document with this information in several languages (Portuguese, French, English, German, etc.) and asks for your signature of it to prove you acknowledged.
