Kevin gave very good detail at just how bad his upbringing was, you seemed to be there with him when he was getting his beatings of his parents, especially his mother, who is a totally demented woman and should never have been allowed to have children, ever. I totally admire Kevin how he triumphed over a truly terrible start in life, no doubt he is still living with the painful memories of his past because there are just some things you can never forget but you can learn to live them, hence the reason he can never sit still now, and is always seeking out new knowledge in order to improve himself and make a truly great life for his family. My heart truly goes out to him and I only wish him and his family well for the future.Truly good read, you feel absorbed into the story from the very first page right through to the last page.

Kevin Lewis, The Kid: A True Story: Having a traumatic past and being drawn to true stories to see how others coped and made successful peaceful lives for themselves, this helped me feel passionate about life and my dreams again. And confirmed that I must write my own book as I've always wanted. Thank you Kevin. Look forward to his next novel.

Kevin Lewis, The Kid: A True Story, what a great book, sad that it really was a true story. I was actually born in the house that this all took place in, and my old neighbour told me on my recent visit to the U.K that all that was written was a fact

May I suggest you read the sequel to the story? Moving On. Another excellent read.

I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did, Victoria. I wish Kevin would write a further Biography on life as it is now. He has written a couple of fiction books (I haven't read them), but I think his own life and writings would be of far greater interest. He writes so very well.

Just a thought, in case there's any confusion, the sequel was titled 'Moving On' when it was first published. Later the title was changed to 'The Kid moves On'. I have written a review on it here at the centre in case you are interested.
