Like others. when I send the documentation for refund, it was "refused unable to forward". I thought L'oreal was a more reputable company. Not the first time I've been wrong. But it was the last time I'll purchase another L'oreal product.

The hair color my hair was when I died it was dark blonde. I left the dye in about 8 minutes longer that said to just because my hair was a little dark. Well now my hair is orange......So unless your hair is already light blonde don.t use this product!
One thing I absolutely LOVED was the shampoo and conditioner though. My hair has felt so soft and smooth since using it! I wish I could buy it without having to get the whole kit again.

The color came out exactly as shown on he box, no brassiness at all. The only down sides are that it made my hair feel dry and the color seemed to fade quite quickly. Overall, not a bad product as far as blonde home hair color goes.

In spite of the promises I ended up orange. I left it on longer than suggested. Yes, I know what I'm doing and have been 'going blonde' for 40 years.

I wish they'd indicate somewhere on the box what the peroxide strength is. I'm guessing 20% and with the promises they make, maybe they need to up to 30%.
L'Oreal Dream Blond is basically a good product but falls short of what it claims it will do.

written by Artkat on 23/05/2009

I colored my hair with the L'Oreal Dream Blonde and it came out perfect! I have a lot of grey in the front and hardly any in the back so it is hard to get it just right. With the others that I have tried either the crown was way off or the front was to light. The Dream Blonde my hair looks very natural - not one solid color and it is very soft and shiny. Now I am trying to find the shampoo and conditioner to buy on their own.

I was very disappointed after buying the Loreal Preference Pure Blond Hair color. It did not get my medium brown hair anywhere near a blond color. I sent in for the Guarantee and the envelope was returned, unopened as REFUSED Mail.
What a joke. I intend to contact the company now to resolve this. I would not buy this overpriced product!

I actually used L'Oreal Dream Blond on my daughter and her hair turned bright orange. I sent the reciept in with the 'pure blond guarantee' and it was returned unopened stamped offer expired. DUD product and company!

L'Oreal Dream Blond is excellent. There is no fading, no brassy or orange tones, comes out PERFECT everytime! I never have colored my hair at home until recently. I tried this product and it was absolutely perfect. No more trying to explain what I want at the expensive salons only to get home and not be pleased with the results and stuck with a big bill. If you have long hair, you may need 2 boxes for it to come out good. You won't be unhappy! Very hard to find; I hope they're not discontinuing it.

“I would not recommend this product to anyone even if...”

I would not recommend this product to anyone even if their hair is light, I think it is expensive and should be called nightmare blonde rather than dream blonde. They state there is a money back guarantee but offered me a gift certificate to buy more. I am livid. I am having to wear a wig as I consulted a professional hair stylist and she stated she could do nothing to fix it.

You didn't state your starting color or the shade used or if your hair was previously colored. My experience has been that most people who get poor results from a Lightening Product has been caused by one or more of the following:

1) The hair was MUCH Darker/More Resistant than recommended by the product for best results.

2) The hair was very long and/or thick and needed more product (Two Kits)

3) The product was applied incorrectly (Mid-Shafts FIRST, Ends NEXT and Roots LAST)

4) The product was not left on long enough, Always use the MAXIMUM TIMING - ALWAYS use a TIMER.

5) The product was applied over previously colored hair without using a color remover FIRST.

I disagree with this review because... Why are there so many people who give incomplete reviews ? You didn't state what color you started with, what shade you used and if your hair was previously colored.

“After getting over the sticker shock, I decided to...”

★★★★☆

written by beautybear on 19/04/2008

After getting over the sticker shock, I decided to give this a try. After taking out the bottle of color, the bottle of developer, a tube of pre-color conditioner, a tube of post-color shampoo, a tube of post-color conditioner, a tube of Continuous Shine Treatment, a Pair Of Gloves, an applicator tip And instructions, I was ready to start (I Think).
After reading the instructions, I put the pre-color treatment on my hair. Its supposed to protect the more fragile areas of my hair (the Ends) but, I put on all of my hair except the roots. Then I put on the Gloves and mixed the color gel with the developer. The smell was strong, but I expected that. The product spread smoothly and quickly through my hair. I saved the roots for last. After 25 mins, I applied the color to my roots and waited the remaining 20mins. There was a mild burning which I expected. After the 20 mins, I added some warm water to my hair and lathered it.
After rinsing, it felt smooth and silky even before I conditioned. I applied the some of the conditioner.(you don't use the shampoo until the next time). It didn't make my hair feel any smoother. In fact, it actually felt LESS CONDITIONED as if the after-conditioner removed some of the conditioner from the Pre-Color Treatment / Haircolor combo. I dried my hair and checked the color. It was Nice. The color was iridescent and multi-toned with NO-BRASSINESS. It was also VERY LIGHT, I could see that this would make even Medium Brown Hair a Light, Iridescent Shade Of Blonde.
Two Days Later. I washed my hair with the Shampoo, the lather was nice and creamy and had a nice smell. After rinsing, my hair felt smooth and silky. But again, when I used the After-Conditioner it seemed to be Less Conditioned than the shampoo left it. After drying, I applied the Special Continuous Shine Treatment. A Creamy, Silicone-Based Pomade that made my hair feel a little greasy but, it DID Shine - If you like that "Greasy-Kid-Stuff" type shine (I Don't). So, I didn't use it again. All I can say is this is a lot of money spent for a few extra tubes of Shampoo and Conditioner - which don't seem to work all that well. But, the color is Beautiful and does seem to holding. And I believe it will lift even dark, resistant hair to blonde. But, as I don't have a problem getting my hair light enough to suit me, I probably won't be trying this again.
