Changes Sep 2011 - Interactive Charts
I think www.digitallook.com is one of the best / most useful sites re stocks and shares information. Would be even better if 'pages loaded' faster (they need to reduce page file size, I guess?).
In the past I have emailed via the site feedback form about various errors on the site. Even spent quite some time over many emails on one particualr issue proving to the lady I was emailing that I was correct and had a valid point. She agreed in the end and said she would take it further to get it corrected. Now some 2 years later the error is still there ... and it applies across all companies on the site.
What has prompted this email though, is that in the last few days (15 Sep 11) they have changed the charts on the site. I don't mind that even ... as long as they leave the old type charts WITH SAVED SETTINGS.
With the new 'Interactive Charts', every time you check out a company, you have to ADD ALL THE SETTINGS THEN ADD THEM AGAIN FOR ANOTHER COMPANY THEN AGAIN AND AGAIN ... probably some IT bod's idea (who is not an Investor) of a needed function. There is not even a warning that the 'Interactive Charts' are in 'beta version' (if indeed they are??)
To my knowledge they never send out a User Satisfaction Survey of any description, there is no User Forum to air views and so I wanted somewhere to record my frusration.
Come on Digital Look, make it easier for User views to be stated / put on record by having a User Forum ... or are you scared of comments? We may be right, we may be wrong but I bet the result would improve an already great site (IMO)
The 'individual feedback form' on the site' does not encourage one to send in comments (IM0) because you feel like you're wasting time as it likely will be viewed as 'one-off' and there is no record that I can view other User comments on the Issue I have written about.
Anyway, that's my rant for the night ... I feel better now! ha Least my frusration is out and on record!

Has Digital Look Lost Its Way?
Used Digital Look for a while. Always been a slow platform but fairly useful. Their free service is good. Recently, their service has dropped and they are not responding to queries and critisims. It is a pity as a little customer nurturing goes a long way.
Did you get a small instruction bleookt with your purchase?If you didn't you could ask the kiosk salesman at the mall where they are selling these device this Christmas. Failing that log in to the mfgr's website(www.brookstone.com) or just and ask the support desk to tell you how to change device size.Failing that why not reduce the size of your pictures beforecopying them into the view finder. I suggest a picture size no bigger than 300k or even 200k which is almost thumb size.Since you are at level 3 with 1600 points you probably are well versed in computer techniques of sizing photos.However, if you are not, let us know and we can tell you which is the best photo sizer to use for your $39 device.
Digital look had lost its way. It was owned by CMC markets who neglected it for two years, however it was bought earlier this year by Web Financial Group, a similar company to DL based in Madrid.
There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to improve internal systems and the look of the website is being updated. Look out for the new improved version in a couple of months.
Not The Best Laid Out Website, And Not Really Valu
Not the best laid out website, and not really value for money if you opt for the market stars package in my opinion. A lot of info can be found for free on various websites.
They also have in the T&C's "Automatic Renewal", and send no reminders - so be warned. Best option if you do subscribe is to cancel your subscription immediately afterwards so the auto renewal doesn't happen
