Edinburgh Harland Apartments. 6 Pilgrim Heights -
Edinburgh Harland Apartments. 6 Pilgrim Heights - Just returned from a two nights stay at these apartments. I was there as part of a Hen Party. There was 10 of us in total. The apartment has four bedrooms. They were situated just a 10 minute taxi ride from Princes Street. [just off Leith Walk]. For two nights this accommodation cost us £540. This price was due to go up by £100 on the weekend we left. It was a secure entry into the building and we were situated on the fifth floor which was accessed by a lift. There was a £500 bond for the weekend in case of any damage. Credit card details were taken for this. For £500 we reckoned the whole apartment had been furnished. There was also a £100 penalty if anyone smoked in the apartment.
The bedroom I stayed in had a double bed and two singles situated in a row. The beds I thought were uncomfortable and of a low standard. No light shade in the room. The curtains were falling off the rail. The en-suite bathroom was stinking of what can only be described as cat pee. Although the bath and sink area was clean.
The living area had three sofa's all stained. The fire did not work. In the kitchen all utensils and crockery had to be washed before we used them. No matching items. Cups were akin to something you would find in a workmans hut. The oven/grill was dirty and covered in grease.
This apartment was rated 4 star. I would be hard pushed to give it 2 stars. The owners were phoned when we first got there so we could point out to them damage that was already there. This was hindered due to the fact they barely spoke English.
The only good thing about this apartment was its location.
