“Mess you about when trying to buy a car”

Been trying to buy a car from lookers Newcastle, agreed to purchase the first one and on the day I was travelling to go and complete the purchase (After agreeing everything over a week earlier, already paying a deposit and completing the paperwork digitally) they rang me to say the car was knackered so they couldn't sell it anymore. Then I agreed to buy a similar car from them and paid a deposit, they then rang me to say the car was already sold so I couldn't buy that one either. I'm now stuck with a £15k bank loan and £1100 insurance policy I need to try and get refunded on, as well as two lots of car history checks I've paid for (although they offered to refund one of them). Cant believe it can be so difficult to buy a car with cash from a garage.

“Terrible after care service from Lookers Peasmarsh”

Really shocked and disappointed at the terrible after care service received from Lookers Commercial Peasmarsh. Less than a week after buying a new van a problem arose with the van. Peasmarsh completely washed their hands and left me to deal with the issue. No customer service at all and not what you expect when you have had a new van for only a week. They should have gone over and above to assist but were not bothered. Definitely realised once they have the money they don’t care!

“Harassment pure harassment!”

I am writing this for a friend as they are concerned the sales man will track her down constant calls all hours of the day, nasty emails even though she had decided to go elsewhere to purchase a new car under a better deal with much better customer service. Not taking NO for an answer and treating her as if she is lying about the other deal and stupid. Were all concern this awful man will track her down as he took her address.

“UltimatePoor Service”

Booked 48 hour test drive in VW E Golf. Turned up only to find car had not been charged up. They dropped the car off next day so only had 24 hours.(Scotswood Rd). Looked at a Nissan Leaf at Felling branch which had cheap tyres fitted not eco tyres as recommended. Pointed this out to salesman who basically told me to like it or lump it.Eventually bought a Leaf from another dealer which ive had for a year and has been fine. Booked a test drive in a gen2 Leaf at Lookers Felling branch turned up to find the salesman I booked with wasn't available and the car was not prepared. Appalling customer service. Avoid at all cost.

“ LOOKERS CARLISLE - THE SERVICE IS APPALLING! ”

I'm trying to think of something positive to say but words fail me! Went for a free Ad Blue top-up and ended up with a bill for £880:00 and a damaged car! Worse service I ever came across at a dealership. Points out of a hundred, one - they have a toilet!

“Missing parts”

Bought a Peugeot from lookers,Preston.on the completion of the deal noticed the parcel shelf and lower boot divider were missing. Salesman told they would be found and sent to me.after numerous phone calls and promises to call me back also a letter to sales manager .total silence.should have read these reviews before I bought the car .very keen to take your money off you but the rest CRAP!!!

“Very poor service overall”

I booked a full service on the 07/02/18 after confirming all my details for my car ect ) I was told it would be a express service about 1.5 hours and the car would be cleaned inside and out for free for £209 for which I thougth was a good deal. On arriving 15 mins early as advised, I was informed they never had the parts in stock to complete my service ! So as I was already there ,I asked for just a oil and filter change, which they said would be £90 + ? , I informed them that I had been quoted £ 86 to which they then agreed. After about 2 hours they informed me the car was ready ,but the one Licence plate bulb had gone and if I wanted it replaced it would be £12.00 I said leave that, I will do it myself. On collecting my car I found it had not been cleaned at all ! but because I was in a rush to collect my child ,I never had time to speak to them about why it had not been done. Also when I got home and checked over the car , I found that both Licence plate bulbs were working fine! Magic Um Overall very poor service and would not use again a bit of a circus, you use these people because you Trust they would do the job correctly and be honest, I will leave you to your own conclusion. This is funny on trying to post this review it keeps coming up a Error happened is this another omen !

Went to Lookers to buy a van and a pick up but i made the fatal mistake of going in wearing my gym clothes!!! receptionist was great she was looking for someone to help me, she did catch the sales mans attention who was on the phone, he looked up and saw me and made no gesture for me to sit down or wait a moment, so i decided to leave as i felt uncomfortable.

“Lookers VW Silverlink (Appalling Service)”

I have never had the displeasure of dealing with such a dishonest, despicable company. We made the mistake of telling a recovery driver to take the car to Lookers VW Garage in Silverlink, Wallsend, and ever since then we have received nothing but stories, excuses and atrocious service. First they tell us that it would cost £400 to fix the car. We agreed to pay this price. They then told us that the bill was £570, the car was not actually fixed, and if we wanted it to be fixed we would need to pay a further £3,500! To fix a problem that as not there to begin with! The car was checked at the roadside by a master mechanic and by the breakdown driver. Both of them agreed that there was nothing wrong with the Starter Motor, yet as soon as Lookers get the car and start fiddling under the hood, the Starter Motor is broken and needs to be fixed. I wonder why. Not only that, but every other garage in the region quoted us between 2 and 4 hours work to fix the Starter Motor on this specific car, but Lookers told us it would take 25 hours. So, they lie to us about the price and its purpose, they charge us for a problem that they caused, and they estimate that said problem would take 10 times longer than anyone else! This is a huge mess resulting from what should have been a simple fix and it is the result of Lookers inability to provide genuine, helpful customer service. They are now refusing to give us back the car THEY BROKE until we pay them £400. Which is seemingly the money we owe for them causing the break in the first place. Luckily, there are trade associations that are perfectly happy to deal with this and our solicitors are also very interested. But it should not have needed to go this far.

“Lookers Mercedes Maidstone”

Poor aftersales services - now on the fifth attempt to fix a warranty issue - fourth attempt and they damaged the car - no apologies etc. Additional mileage placed on the car without permission, denied knowledge again, despite photographic evidence to prove they were not consistently telling the truth. 3 Attempts to fix a factory paint defect on a new car, second attempt left the car in a worse state, final attempt was good but left holograms over the paintwork and caused carbon side skirt to become unattached. Just a dreadful aftersales serives

Bought a zafira last week from lookers with two worn front tyres on it infact they were on the wear mark an they told me they had 3mm on them which they didn't an were worn on the shoulders I had to replace them an get them tracked an balanced at my cost an a set of front brake pads at my cost an only ad car a week

“Endless issues with used Mercedes”

Car was damaged at collection. Lookers Tonbridge guaranteed a speedy repair once they had parts in stock. Four months later they finally had parts delivered. They messed that up and ordered wrong part. Now my car is off the road with no idea of when it will be repaired and delivered back to me. Ask for compensation and they've jumped in with legal threats. Avoid.

“A Truly Miserable Experience”

Lookers at Peasmarsh - Service department totally incompetent could not fit a bulb without shorting out the circuit, could then not diagnose the blown fuse. Then they decided to wash their hands of the vehicle by avoiding my phone calls, 6 in total. Eventually got VW Customer Service involved, which Lookers really didn't like at all. Anyway they 'booked' the vehicle in for inspection, when I arrived they denied all knowledge of it being booked in. Very funny! With a bit of research fixed it myself in the end. Easy job, but not the point, they damaged the vehicle they should have fixed it.

Sort of had the same thing, I had to ring ford credit to ask them does the person still owe money then said no it's a mistake. After 10 phone calls to ford and one to hpi check to investigate, it was taken off. I rang lookers to ask why didn't they have it took off all I got was he will ring you straight back, also my car had 3 dings in on a 15 plate and lookers were meant to sort them even though they should have before I got it, I had to pay for them myself to get sorted with my local dent company and many thanks to John grose (who I should have bought my car from) the car from lookers was badly prepared and dirty interior disgusting from a main ford dealer. My list goes on but I'll never use lookers ford Braintree again. I traded in my immaculate 2013 Renault Megane and they treated me like oh sell the car he's done next.



Never use lookers there a terrible company, the cars aren't looked after (exterior, mechanically etc.) , problems like finance etc, horrible staff, I paid cash for mine with a part ex all they wanted me to take was finance.

Best of all they couldn't even throw in something like £20 petrol,mats etc... It's shocking how they get away with this

“Lookers Volkswagen Blackpool”

Absolutely disgusted in the service received. Previously mis-sold a car by them on a 5000 miles a year finance deal with a car which needs an average of 15,000 miles a year to even run, without any notice of this from the sales personal. Lack of communication through the whole term of my contract and no co-operation whatsoever. Obviously stopped making payment on the car as it was unusable and their only solution for me would have been a replacement petrol version for an extra £2,000 upfront, on top of the £5000+ I had previously paid them for the original car. Now they are requesting a payment of over £5,000 for the return of the car against the re-sale value which is most probably low due to the false accusation of immersion which came out in the media earlier this year. Never been so disgraced in lack of customer service let alone the fact they mis-sold me a car not fit for purpose. Is this even legal?

Appalling from collecting of vehicle due to service book not being stamped and mot not carried out although they 'promise' to if under 10 months and even worse after sales care, problem passed from one person to another without resolution. Vehicle returned to Lookers with problem after ownership of two months, took another two months of waiting for repair to be carried out (which the car sat at Lookers for) before pursuing a refund of the vehicle. Additional 24 month warranty purchased which they would not refund for.

“warranty repair”

Hi all , this is about Lookers in Chester. My wife's car broke cut out and would nit start up again, this wa the start . After alot of upevil we managed to get the car to CHESTER, and we were told the car woyld be looked at either that day or first thing the next morning. After 3 days and after numerous pnone calls I was tild that a broken wire ha been diagnosed a the fault but to trace which one IS NOT A 5 MINUTE JOB and will contact us when there are any developments. Well after another 5 days we phoned and were told that they had found a BAD wire to the battery, but the battery had now gone flat so they cant check if the fault ha been fixed until the battery had been charge over night.This morning my wife received a call off Lookers saying that the battery was totally u/s and would cost her 128 to replace it . At this point I phoned Lookers and spoke to a manager and stated that the battery was fine when the car left us as it was the first test that was done and if there was now a problem it wa either something that they had caused or was down to the fault on the car. At this time the manager says to me that he had just trie the car and it starts fine at the moment but the battery should have been charge over night before doing the test on it.

“Strange People”

I bought a new Citroen DS5, paint protection and 4 year service contract but when I picked up the car I found the standard carpets and glovebox fuse cover missing. Several promises to replace later they fell silent so I cancelled the maintenance contract. Strange people Lookers Citroen Preston
