I have used this company many times before, and have always been happy with the service and vehicles provided. For cars they are excellent, and for van rental of more than one day they are excellent. HOWEVER, BEWARE OF EXCESS MILEAGE CHARGES ON ONE DAY VAN HIRE! On a single day van hire there is a mileage limit of 250 miles, and this is not obvious on the website, but buried deep in the T&Cs. So, on a single day hire I was stung for £25 excess mileage which not only doubled the hire charge unexpectedly, but took the charge to way over the mainstream companies cost, who will drop off at your house for no extra charge. This makes it completely uneconomical to use Arnold Clark for long distance single day van hire. I will boy use again, mainly because if this basic information is not communicated at the time of hire then I cannot be sure there are not more important details concealed in the usual legal blurb.
