The Sherston Inn, Wells

We fell across the beautifully positioned Sherston Inn on a visit to Wells and purposefully went back. We had a lovely evening sat in the bay window, enjoying the lovely food. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere perfect. Memorable ~ in a good way. Thank you for making our evening.

Menu at The Sherston Inn in Wells looked quite interesting but the food was far from what was expected after reading the write-up in the local paper.

I ordered Sea Bass new potatoes and vegetables all of which looked unappetising and all tasted very bland. There was no flavour at all to the mashed swede (obviously not seasoned and not even a whiff of butter) I found a hair on the carrots and the new potatoes had been plonked on the plate - no garnished or butter. My husband had steak chips and veg. Steak was asked for medium but was in fact medium rare and very tough. Chips were ok. Will not be going back.
