Improvement Advice

This is a good hotel, but I think they can easily improve their business by more advertisement online. They can join ECrent.com, the largest global rental platform. Register the account with "France", get 10 USD cash value = 3 free items upload!

Years ago, hotels were not too picky about who they let check in. They would even let mirnos check in. Rooms would get trashed regularly, and hotels would try to bill the parents. The parents signed a note, right? Most times, however, parents would deny they ever signed a note, and many times the hotel would have to fix the damage. They would file a claim with the insurance company, which would pay. Well, insurance companies got tired of paying. So when it came time to renew the insurance policy, the hotels were forced to set the check-in age at 21, or sometimes 18 (for a higher fee, of course). If you are looking for a hotel where you can check in under 21, there are 3 that I know of:The MenageThe ClarionRed Roof InnThe Menage has the best location, almost directly under the Disney fireworks. If you have a sensitive car alarm, the percussion of the fireworks will most likely set it off. It’s hilarious how the car alarms accompany the fireworks. The mist pool is a great place to watch them on a summer night. Keep in mind it’s an older Holiday Inn with an extensive remodel, and you have to pay for parking in their lot. However, the main feature here is the proximity to Disneyland, and the fact that you can check in if you are 18 or older.

Beware Of Thiefs

Don't leave any personal items in your room if you stay in the Disneyland Thomas Cook Explorers Hotel. My expensive sunglasses were taken from our hotel room and when we reported it to the hotel, they did nothing at all. They checked their lost property but surprise surprise, nothing turned up. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel and choose another hotel in the area. If you are wanting to travel into the centre of Paris a lot, then don't stay in this area. It's a 40min train ride to the city and the traiatenolol not the safest in the world. Hang on to your bags as you are stepping onto the train and if someone nudges you in the back while you are getting on the train, check to make sure your wallet is still there. Don't let anyone help you to buy a train ticket unless they are uniformed. The ticket machines are only in French so these scumbags take your money and buy you the cheapest tickets -which are for infants - and tell you to pay them a stupid some of money.

Explorers Hotel Disneyland Paris Really Good Family Hotel

Stayed at the Explorers Hotel, Disneyland Paris for 4 nights at the start of April 2012. Arrived with my husband and 2 children aged 16 and 11. The reception staff were friendly and the room was clean with comfortable beds. There was a safe in the room which was useful for the passports. There were also tea making facilities, hairdryer and towels in the bathroom (there was no soap or shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom so make sure you take some with you). As we arrived at the hotel at 4pm we thought we would catch the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Disney Village for something to eat. We waited one minute and the shuttle bus came and we were in Disney Village within 10 minutes. The free shuttle bus runs regularly and we didn't seem to have to wait for more than 5 minutes before one arrived. After dinner we went back to the hotel as my daughter wanted to go in the swimming pool. The pirate themed pool stops open until about 11pm and is great fun with slides, etc. You can hire a towel at the pool reception for 2 Euros each and there is also a vending machine selling goggles, caps, swimsuits, etc. There are family sized changing rooms and free lockers. The pool is not always supervised by a member of staff, so it is important to supervise your children at all times. Also at the hotel is a soft play area which is ideal for younger children. Breakfast is good with cereals, croissants, rolls, ham, fruit, yoghurts etc. We went to breakfast at different times in a morning and there was always tables free. We did not have dinner in the hotel so we can't comment on that. We always ended up having dinner in Disneyland or Disney Village. Overall we had a good time at the Explorers and would definitely go there again.

I Have Been Taking A Party Of 20 For Ten Years To

I have been taking a party of 20 for ten years to the GrandHotel Jeanne D'Arc. Boulevarde St Marcel Paris 4 years ago it changed hands and from being a well run good value for money hotel has become run down, shabby and they made a complete mess of my booking this year causing me much anxiety. I have told them that we won't be returning again. Worse they have no honour system. I left behind two transisitor radios, an electronic language translator and some books. After I emailed them only the books were returned I visited the hotel again and was told they had only found the books. Nonsence they were all together. So the management condones theft.

Thomas Cook Explorer Hotel Disneyland Paris

If you want to get to sleep at night, forget it! If you want reasonably priced drinks out of happy hour, (19:00 to 21:00) forget it! If you want to complain and expect an understanding response, forget it! If you like to sleep in an air-conditioned room, forget it!

If you want to listen to kids calling out of their windows all through the night, you got it! Beer is cheapest at 6.5 Euros. When I complained about the noise from the kids shouting out of their windows - which echoed all around the place - the receptionist said "well kids, the teacher falls asleep and then kids are kids!" Not what you want to hear when you've had three sleepless nights in a row.

The Website For This Hotel Is Very Nice But Is Ver

The website for this hotel is very nice but is very different from the actual reality. There is a soft play area next to the pool that on appearance seems like a great place to let your kids go and play safely - but this is not the case. The area is so badly maintained that my child hurt his leg quite badly because there was so much exposed wood - which is lethal to little children running and throwing them selves around on soft foam areas. I took several photos of it and intend to bring this to Thomas Cook's attention very shortly. I informed the staff who looked like they couldn't care less, however the next morning there were a few changes made, but not enough to be completely safe - I wonder if they even have a health and safety Manager? None of the fountains were working presumably because it costs money. Almost all the lockers in the pool area were out of order. The shuttle buses were excellent, it is very near disney and it's only a 10 min journey - we never failed to get on a shuttle when we wanted to which was great. The train station is right next to disney also which was great for going into Paris. The photos on the website show the pool being a fantastic area with waterfalls and the pirate tipping water everywhere - what they don't tell you is that it only starts at 6pm at night! They don't operate it in the day - which is ridiculous, they should run it if they have enough kids to enjoy it, but it's all about saving money. The roof was leaking and that was cordoned off, but quite dangerous and I never saw any maintenance people around fixing it. Disappointing really, I wouldn't choose it again. If you do go, ensure you ask for a room that isn't above the pool and looking onto the outside water pipe that runs back into the pool area as it opens very early and what a racket! Thomes cook need to sort out maintenance of this hotel.

We Stayed At Explorers Hotel In Suite 130 (a Queen

We stayed at Explorers hotel in suite 130 (a queen size bed, separate sofabed bedroom and separate bunkbed room with two bathrooms). Room was clean but fairly basic. We found the staff incredibly helpful but our gripes were the very high prices for drinks but this is in disneyland as a whole and being charged an extra 6 euros for a cooked breakfast.

We Arrived At The Explorers Hotel With Mixed Expec

We arrived at the Explorers hotel with mixed expectations, from reading previous reviews we did not know what to expect. First impressions were excellent, the reception and public areas were all spotlessly clean, this continued into our rooms. The service from all staff was perfect: polite, courteous and helpful. Our room was situated in the south wing and was extremely quiet, very welcome after many hours in the Disney parks.

We went to the pool thinking it may be only a quick dip to satisfy the children but in fact I was surprised to find that we had been in the water for over 1 hour. This would not have been possible if the water had been as cold as some people have claimed.

I can acknowledge that it may have been a bit chaotic for the late risers at breakfast time; it did appear to be the case as we were leaving the restaurant but at the time we entered each day we had no problem collecting the required food from the buffet style areas.

The only reason I have been unable to give the hotel the full 10 points is due to the high cost of the drinks. I appreciate that this is something that is common across all Disneyland Paris hotels but that does not make it acceptable or reasonable to be expected to pay such inflated amounts.

The Rooms At The Thomas Cook's Explorers Hotel Are

The rooms at the Thomas Cook's Explorers Hotel are basic but all you need ie: clean bedding, towels changed daily and room cleaned daily, hairdryer, tv and tea/coffee making facilities. We had a crew room for 5 of us, it slept 6 comfortably. Disabled room had double bed, double sofa bed and add on room with bunks and tv. Overall rooms are a little tired looking but for the time spent in them who cares? The public areas of the hotel are clean, good pool area and great facilities for younger children (mine are all teens so played pool and in the arcade) breakfast is your usual continental with hot optional at extra cost.. buffet breakfast included melon, oranges, yogurt, creme caramel, salad, cheese, cereals, bread rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juices.... we found this to be quite ample and everything was fresh.

We also dined in the Plantation (where breakfast is served) we had the all you can eat buffet at 22.50 euro's per person... there was a good selection of hot and cold foods including, salmon, roast beef, spaghetti bolognaise, hotdogs in buns, fries, potatoes, chicken nuggets, ham, salad, peas, cauliflower cheese and more, plus a good selection of desserts and unlimited soft drinks.

Staff were very helpful although some friendlier than others. Shuttle buses for parks were regular and never crowded from hotel to Disney as the Explorer Hotel is the first on the route, also first drop off on return from parks. As we have a wheelchair user in our group I only had to ask at reception for the free shuttle minibus with ramp and it arrived within 5-10 mins, returning from parks the minibus staff were based at our bustop and promptly escorted us onto the minibus to return to the hotel... We found this extremely helpful as getting around on public transport isn't always easy with a wheelchair.

All in all I would have given 10/10 if the room decor hadn't looked so tired but would definitely use this hotel again.
