I sent a Fuji Finepix camera in for repair. Aside from a warranty problem, soon after the camera was new, the camera had been very good. Sadly the repair service was a joke. After three weeks (The time after which Fuji say to contact them if the camera has not been fixed), their site said that nothing had been done. Upon querying this, I was told that parts were awaited and that it should be OK by a week later. At nearly five weeks, I again contacted Fuji, this time to be told that nothing had been done to the camera and that they could not get the bits. I was not given a satisfactory answer as to why it took nearly five weeks to tell me they could not repair the camera (I suspect “Can’t get parts” was not on their flow chart!!). I remains to be seen whether I have to chase them for a refund but this experience would put me off buying another Fuji camera.

I bought a Fuji HS30 camera online which showed a read error fault on the new Fuji 16G card. This was replaced by the supplier but still the camera showed the same error. The camera dealer supplied a new camera and this too showed the same fault! So then I went round by appointment to Fuji UK in Bedford, only 10 mins away where an engineer tested both camera and card to find the card was faulty, one of a small batch. A new card was fitted and all is well. Thanks Fuji for top grade customer service, friendly and efficient.
