Absolutely loved the event I attended in Southampton last night, the host was super friendly and it was great to meet other local people. I was a little nervous prior to the event, but I was reassured instantly and as soon as I got chatting to some of other ladies - I was fine! I know for a fact I have made some good friends from the event - hopefully some love interests too! :P

This was my first time speed dating & after having a lot of bad experiences with internet dating, I was a bit dubious & pessimistic about it. The venue itself was lovely & the hostess for the night was very welcoming & cheerful. However, I did find that most of the guys there were more towards the older end of the age range, which was 37-52, which did limit my choice a lot as the initial physical attraction wasn't there for me. I did match with one of the guys I met, however like with internet dating, the contact between us has been disappointing since swapping numbers & I'm not expecting anything to come of it. The only other guy I ticked hasn't even submitted his choices! I did have a good night overall & I go to another event but I certainly won't be building my hopes up next time like I probably did with this one.

I had to pull out of an event I booked onto at the last minute due to bad weather. I was expecting to have lost my money and have to go through the booking process again for a future event. Instead, the Events Manager emailed me back within an hour to say they had transferred my booking at no extra cost. Very happy!

My event was cancelled the day before due to lack of make numbers. My first point would be that they must have realised this for a while and should have taken the decision earlier to cancel as it was very inconvenient. However my main issue is that the email telling us it was cancelled did not say anything about getting a refund and said I had been booked on the next event. I don't think that is right and people who don't know their consumer rights would be fooled into thinking they couldn't get a refund. I emailed to say I would like a refund and the reply was - did I look at the other dates and again did not say I could have a refund. it was only when I pushed the point and said no I want a refund that this was processed. I think this is bad business practice and again penalises people who don't know their rights. It has put me off using you again.

Would recommend speed dating for anyone looking for a date. 'Slow dating' seemed to be very professional and helpful. It's not an expensive evening either. The venue were not good at answering their phone which didn't help me when running late. This is no reflection on the company 'Slow dating' and would use them again anytime.

I attended 3 of these events in Exeter, first one was very good, ( 5 star ) quite well organized etc But on the next 2 events in December, the first one there was 20 guys and 10 girls only, the second one there was 20 guys and only 9 girls. These events only work well with equal numbers of both sex's.

Event booked was cancelled. Was offered another and hardly anyone was there - 7 guys & 9 women tops. Total waste of time.

Brilliantand Im sure I will be back. Dont forget us 40 year olds love 30s/40s nights. I always tell my friends and colleagues about how great your speed dating is and I think the only thing missing is the lack of national advertising and as such people are really nervous about the concept BUT I will always promote you guys and many thanks.

Its been two weeks since I went to a slowdate night, and I have to say the text messages I received every time I got matched the next day is an outstanding feature. Every time the phone beeped, I got excited. Thanks must go to the host as well, who was great to me, and helping to make sure I got my got home ok, by chatting away and waiting patiently with me for my bus at the end of the night.

This was the first time I had used Slowdating as a speed dating site. The venue was good, although the room we actually used was cramped and a bit warm. The host apologised for this, as the venue had changed the room at short notice and there was nothing that could have been done. The host clearly explained the rules, and made sure that everyone understood what they needed to do. As is usual in these speed dating events, the ladies sit still, whilst the men move around. There were less ladies than men, so twice we had to sit out and wait. Pluses The Host was welcoming The ladies were interesting and chatty Negatives The venue room was small and warm Trying to chat whilst sharing a table was difficult Overall I would use this company again as they appear well organised and helpful. Did I get a date? - now that would be telling :-)

I have been on 2 speed dating events with Slow Dating. I had given up on online dating as I found it unpredictable and full of guys looking for just one thing. I find meeting up with people face to face takes away all the falseness and uncertainty that Internet dating presents. I am still looking for Mr Right but I find the events organised by slow dating company provides a safe and fun environment for me to keep looking.

Had a really good time, was much better than I had expected

The hosts were enthusiastic and put people at ease. Four minutes gives you enough time to find areas of compatibility and in some cases leaves you intrigued to know more! It was good that there was mingling time in the break and afterwards where you could follow up with potential matches. This was much better for me than online dating as I prefer face to face contact. The online system is really easy to use. A good range of people attended the event. I would definitely do this again and recommend it to others.

Attended my first speed dating event last night and had a surprisingly good time! I say surprisingly as I really wasn't sure what to expect. The host was pleasant and helpful and the venue a great bar. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, organised but not formal. 4 minutes goes surprisingly quickly! Nerves don't last long as everyone appears to want to be there. The only down side was that only 9 men attended the event, rather less than I thought there would be (but you can't force them to go!) Overall a fun night, and I'm glad I went. You've got nothing to lose by trying such an event, after all you never know who you may meet!

Having just moved to a new city I thought this would be a good opportunity to meet with like minded people who are looking to meet new people as well. The venue was very good for the evening as it was pleasent with friendly staff. At no time did I feel embarrassed to be there or like I was being watched. There was a good mixture of people at the event which meant someone for everyone to get along with. We had our time to meet and then an opportunity to talk more afterwards if you hung around to do so. It was a good evening out and I'd probably do it again. Too soon to tell if it will lead to something else although I did meet ladies I would enjoy meeting with to talk more. Give it a go you never know what will happen if you do.
