Finding A Decent Price And Value For Motorcycle He

Finding a decent price and value for motorcycle helmets is no easy feat. After much time spent online, the EXL line offered by MotoDirect.com really stands out with their line up of DOT and SNELL approved helmets.

Rate It A 6.5 Considering Value For The Price Of A

Rate it a 6.5 considering value for the price of about $55. This value is asumming you don't have a problem with ROLL_OFF per recommended sizing (Getting a size smaller may help prevent this).

My boxes (Large and XS) says its a 708 ... but from the web site it looks as if it could be the 808 model. Both seem identicle except for the "FLOW-THROUGH FOREHEAD VENTILATION SYSTEM."

The EXL-708/808 finish had some flaws ... blistered paint job in one spot ... rough/unfinished edge in another.

There are moderate gaps between the flip-up portion of the chin bar and the helmet itself ... located behind the face shield ... so it lets water into the helmet fairly easily. Also a head forward position lends itself to a little bit of a whistle ... Like when you look down at the gauges.

With that said > I don't have a problem with roll off, I don't ride in the rain, or ride fast enough for the wind noise to be louder than my pipes.

I like this helmet for what it is ... a cheap comfie modular helmet.

But I'd rate the Nolan 100E / 102 much higher even though they weren't as comfortable on my head.

Some additional findings ... the XS shell is the same size as the Large ... the padding in the XS is thicker. Although it doesn't roll off and fits her snug, my daughter says the XS is too big (meaning the shell size is too big for her). Her HJC CLy14 is obviously smaller. My wife who fits in either says she prefers the HJC also. Most Helmets come in 2 or 3 shell sizes ... one for the smaller sizes and ... well you get the point. This may be an issue for small heads.

Good Helmet For A Great Price. Got Mine At Motodir

Good helmet for a great price. Got mine at MotoDirect for about $50. It's DOT and ready to rock. Great for anyone that wears glasses, as I do.

Very Well Made Helmet For The Price Paid. Bought A

Very well made helmet for the price paid. Bought as a backup to my Nolan. Solid fit and not as noisy as my past helmets. Overall finish was quite impressive for EXL.

I consider this helmet to be an excellent 2nd helmet especially for my passenger.

There Are So Many Good Points To This Motorcycle H

There are so many good points to this motorcycle helmet that I do not even know where to start. I have owned a couple other modular helmets in the past and I have paid over $200 for both of them. But I got this modular flip-up motorcycle helmet from MotoDirect.com delivered for less than and it is just as good as the Nolan and HJC modular motorcycle helmets that I have had in the past. It is a lightweight helmet with a lot of significant features such as quick-release shield, fully removable liner, etc. And what was a little suprising to me is how good of a ventilation system this helmet has. It also seems to be a bit lighter weight than my previous modular helmets.

Not really anything else to say.
