Worse quality than Ikea - cheap flatpack rubbish! Terrible customer service also. Poor design and flimsy product. Doors do not fit. The compensation offered was insulting. I am unable to return the product and was offered less then 10% of my money back for wobbly side board that doesn't even have doors that fit. Also customer service is based in France so my phone bill for calling customer service is not even covered by their shameful compensation offer. Steer well clear from this company!… Read Full Review

I was a happy Maison's du Monde customer since my last purchase! This company is going down hill so my advice is stay away!!!! One of the parcels arrived, the other one still missing... Bought a rug on the Black Friday sale £103:50 and when it arrived noticed a price in Euros that, at 89/90 Euros was much lower than what had been paid. When checking on the website found the rug to be the price I had paid at £103:50 and without any black Friday sale. The worst online shopping experience ever. I ordered a small dining table during a weekend. I never received any e-mail confirmation with an order number. I noticed on Monday that the money was deducted from my account. I then received a call from the carrier company in France on Monday to arrange the delivery. Chair arrived damaged (discoloured fabric and leg hole drilled wrongly). Didn't open packaging until about 20 days after it arrived due to not moving daughter into her new room immediately. Tried to return it due to faults and this French based company refused. This breaks UK consumers law. I pointed this out, they basically said they didn't care. Be warned, don't used this company. Awful service. Bought sofa five weeks ago. Given delivery date few days after purchase. Stayed in- no delivery. Tracking issue. Spent three weeks chasing courier company. Hi I ordered a bed on line I talked on line to the person and asked questions if the bed was a double which she said it was . After 6 weeks of waiting for delivery, the delivery date was changed twice. On the due delivery day I waited with no sign of the chest of drawers I had ordered. Beautiful stuff but shocking delivery. We ordered a lamp and a flamingo floor piece for my sister in law and both turned up broken. The lamps marble base was chipped and the flamingos leg was broken. Although customer service sent out replacements both showed up broken again as well as the third flamingo the sent out after that. Unfortunately, Maison du Monde is using Chronopost as one of their delivery options and it beats any other delivery service I had to deal with so far when it comes to no existent customer service. It was quite ironically amusing to see my delivery being shipped to the UK, then having two records on their tracking website of attempted delivery (not that they would leave a card to contact them to rearrange delivery) and then see that your purchase is being shipped back to France... Yes, deliveries are sometimes delayed, and it is frustrating, but what is to expect when the items are delivered from South of France? Have any of the people complaining tried to bring a lorry from South of France to London? Driven through London with a French HLV? Of course, not! So, my advice is if you want prompt deliveries order furniture from the UK and not oversea!

I have purchased small piece of furniture for my daughter bedroom. It arrived seriously damaged, but it was wrapped in thin piece of cartoon. I asked for replacement, that arrived 2 weeks larer without any notice, also severelly damaged. The piece of furniture was made of the material of very bad quality.
