My Sony VAIO VGN-FZ11Z is two years old, build quality is very good nothing peeling away or damaged with a great screen, battery life could be better but most laptops I have used suffer the same problem so I tend to use the laptop on mains only at home now and remove the battery, when I need the laptop when I am out I have to use the battery and writing important documents or backups at home I will use the battery as a UPS just incase of a power cut when plugged into the mains, removing the battery now and again and using the mains helps protect the battery as on my second battery now which I have had for over a year and it lasts over an hour on full brightness, the first battery only lasting for 10 minutes when 10 months old and this procedure seems to help and a battery is regarded as a consumable so I dont include it as part of the FZ11Z build, overall the Vaio FZ11Z is a great laptop nice and stable as well no crashes under windows Vista. I hope to use it for many years to come.

Fantastic screen, have had mine for a year and have not had any issues, use it as both a work computer and for pictures.
All laptops are fragile, if you use them right and take care of them then this laptop will look after you.
Well recommend Sony VAIO VGN-FZ11Z.

Had laptop for 13 months now. Had a new keyboard underwarrenty when was 1 month old, and 5 days out of warranty it needed ANOTHER one, at a cost of £230+VAT.
Sony most unhelpful.
However a lovely laptop to look a and to work with.

Sony Vaio VGN FZ11Z review - I would not suggest purchasing any of Sony's notebooks. This is my last. No support. Flimsy design. Over-priced...but all in a handsome package, kind of like a Ferrari that requires the use of kit gloves. For today's world of hustle and bustle, the Vaio can't take the punches, period.

BEWARE - My VAIO VGN-FZ11Z is just over 12 months old. The battery lasts a whopping 20 minutes and the keyboard has keys that don't work, namely 2@, 4$, 0), rR, yY, uU and caps lock. Sony refuse to accept responsibility. But if I pay $300 for a new battery, $200 for a new keyboard, + courier costs and $100+ to fit, they may consider whether I can be compensated. Sony have not been at all helpful. DO NOT consider buying without extended warranty with Concierge service which includes cost of renting replacement computer while waiting 6 months for replacement parts. Also beware that the cost of the extended warranty is only for computer and does not include the accessories added to your purchase. Eg. $1500 - $2500 should be $119 for 5 year maximum extended warranty. Do your homework. It is so f**st*ating to *se a comp*te* that has missing ke*s. This laptop is *eall* not wo*th the ***** + dolla*s I paid. (Fill in the missing letters, symbols & numbers. This is what you get without copying and pasteing).
