“What customer service?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Alisson380 on 18/08/2014

Disgusting service. After initially receiving what looked like a 'good deal' it soon became apparent why. They employ minimum staff who are poorly trained to complete tasks effectively. After deciding to take my policy out elsewhere, i phoned to cancel my policy in good time. Despite emailing and phoning to confirm the cancellation, they didn't seem to have any records. As a consequence they saw fit to try billing me for their incompetence to the tune of £181 for what they claim is two days insurance!!! I now have the job of paying for phone records and gathering IT evidence to support my argument. What a complete waste of time! Avoid them at all costs!

“Avoid at all costs”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 12/08/2014

After being a long standing customer, over 15 years with my car insurance, the company cancelled my insurance via letter in February of this year. I insured my self with another company. The next thing I know they wanted cancellation money for the policy they cancelled. I pointed out that they had cancelled the policy, and therefore they should not be charging me. After I put this into the hands of solicitor, they waived charges and sent out my NCD certificate. Last week, six months later on the 6th August, I received a letter asking me for £26; they did not state what they were charging me £26 for!!!. They said they had sent me several correspondences, none that I have received for the said amount. If I don't pay they will put it into the hands of a debt collection agency. Despite numerous phone calls, they still haven't resolved anything. Appalling.

“I would never use this company! Never sent documents...”

written by Kgar2510 on 15/04/2014

I would never use this company! Never sent documents out despite contacting them twice for documents. Charged me astronomical cancellation fees when I took a policy out with someone else. The costumer services are rude and unhelpful and the manager is a nasty and arrogant. I've never dealt with such bad costumer services and the way the manager spoke to me was totally unprofessional. Do not use!!!

In my opinion the company provides poor service and represents poor value for money. I would not recommend purchasing insurance through this company.

Absolutely terrible service. Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Avoid this service at all costs. They backtracked on the no claims discount I was originally issued and I had to spend hours myself searching for all the info. DO NOT USE

“Atrocious service”

written by on 08/09/2013

Received a garbled phone call from one of their employees on a Sunday afternoon telling me my house insurance policy was suspect and would need to be cancelled. The female on the phone promised to phone back within an hour with another quote but never did. An absolutely atrocious service. Avoid.

“Ombudsman Found Them Out!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Glen9000 on 03/07/2013

I applied for contents insurance with this company in December 2012. It is alleged that I made a mistake in my initial application. I noticed that the details weren't correct when they sent me the written copy of the policy. As it was in the 14 days 'cooling off' period I rang them to explain the error and to ask them to correct it. They rang me an hour later to say that because of the hangers that we're required they could no longer offer me this policy and so I would have to cancel - and charge me an £85 fee! After many email and telephone conversations they refused to reduce the amount. I asked the Ombudsman to intervene and Deeside have now refunded me £45. Don't put up with astronomical admin charges or poor service from this terribly unprofessional company. Take action.

“Total Rip off, ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/02/2013

Having renewed our house insurance last December at what we thought was a good price we received an E-mail stating that the bank refused payment, which was total rubbish, then another confirming that it had in fact gone through and they had taken out funds from our account. Got on with life...yesterday January's bank statement arrived and noticed the money had been returned to our account, on phoning the company it turns out that the initial offer was just to draw us in, which should be total illegal. We had no explanation as to why they cancelled it but of course they could give us another quote for more money. Not only did this company give out a quote they counldn't uphold they left us total uninsured for 5 weeks without informing us. AVOID at all cost.

“Terrible company - good quote, awful service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/08/2012

I initially ordered contents insurance from Deeside Insurance Brokers or aim4agreatquote after finding them through a comparison site because their initial quote was very reasonable. When I received my documents via email, after a delay of 2 days, there was an error so I called them - they then told me that my insurance was invalid because I have flatmates, even though I'd told them that on my initial form. The woman I spoke to was very rude and when I asked about a refund she said "we want to talk to you about finding you coverage before we discuss a refund". I thought this was pretty cheeky but I went along with it and she put me through to someone new. He told me he would call me back within 15 minutes with a new quote. Two days later I called and the person on the phone told me he would call me the next day. When they did eventually call me back it was to say that they couldn't help me. They are sending me my refund now, although I'll have to see it to believe it! They should never have taken my money if they don't cover flat shares and they were rude and unhelpful at every stage. Avoid this company!

“Starts well, but all downhill from there ...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 06/08/2012

Initial price great. Renewal a year later had terrible price and VERY early auto-renew. Paid through the nose for a year, but rang them well in time this year, to give me chance to check out other (much better) quotes. They STILL took the renewal fee from my bank account, despite having been told not to, and with incorrect timings, compared to the docs they'd sent through. Didn't tell me they would take money, nor did they tell me when they had - I only noticed it myself on checking bank account. Had to spend 20 mins on phone with them getting nowhere and then 30 mins on phone with my bank, going through an "indemnity claim". DREADFUL service. Not good enough.

“Highly unethical sales process”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Rampi on 22/08/2011

Hello, I purchased the insurance policy with this firm through a comparision site. After payment, they came back and asked me to pay additional payment as they felt they have found more info. They forced me to pay more as I could not cancel my policy due to their 55 GBP fee for cancellation. Please avoid this company

“Unprofessional and rude”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Josiew on 27/06/2011

I went onto a website offering comparison on different insurances. After putting all my information in, aim4agreatquote offered the cheapest building and contents insurance. I went on to buying it. When I received the paperwork I realised that the information was wrong. I had put onto the website that I live near a small stream, however the insurance papers stated that there was no running water near me. I then tried to correct my details and was asked to pay over £100 extra. I signed none of the papers sent to me as I believe I have been sold something unsuitable. I was told it would cost me £55 to cancel the policy I never wanted. When I tried to explain on the phone that I was sold something which I did not request and which was clearly not suitable the guy I talked to started having such a go at me that I had to ask him if it would be ok if I just could say what I would like to say without him keep interrupting me. In the end I asked him for the e-mail address of an independent watchdog, where I could complain to. He would not give me the information but instead told me his manager would phone me. This never happened. I then e-mail and asked again to cancel my policy and requested again an e-mail address to complain. I was then told that my policy had been cancelled on my phone call. I had never received a confirmation. I would have thought for £55 I could at least expect an e-mail confirming the cancellation. After a further 3 times requesting an e-mail address, where I could put my complaints to, I was given the internal e-mail of his manager, the same one who never bothered to call me back in the first place and not an independent complains department. I was told that I would receive my money back after 45 days, it actually took 63 days. On top of everything else, has he not managed once to get my name right. He missed out 5 letters each time.

“Swapped to aim4agreatquote from quoteline direct to...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 24/02/2010

Swapped to aim4agreatquote from quoteline direct to save a few pounds. What a mistake! After completing their online form I becamse concerned due to their poor English on their website (often linked with dodgy companies I have found) and I received no confirmation e-mail from them; the only evidence that I had insurance was the money which disappeared from my account. I tried calling and e-mailing several times and was told they would call back but I received no responses via telephone or e-mail. I wrote a letter of complaint and received two letters saying it was taking longer than normal before receiving one saying that my complaint had not been upheld but they refunded some of my policy (much less than the remaining term) and cancelled my insuarnce leaving me uninsured! Will never go near them again.

written by dirich on 22/12/2009

Insured a car with them as from august 09, then rang them for a quote for a different car, then oh my god!!, they turned around and accused me of telling lies on the present policy, which I most certainly had not, so because they decided not to believe me they made my policy void, and cancelled my policy. I was absolutely furious, and it was a mistake on their behalf, but won,t accept that, so tried to blame me. NEVER again will I have anything to do with them, Disgraceful service!!!!!!!

“Got an house insurance quote from aim4agreatquote and...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 05/12/2009

Got an house insurance quote from aim4agreatquote and the price seemed reasonable. We phoned and the lady asked us a number of questions after which we agreed a policy.

Soon after, an email arrived giving the details of the policy. There were many mistakes. We were advised to insure for 4 bedrooms by the lady, when in fact we stated it had 5. The small print stated we would not be insured if any trees more than 3 metres were in the vacinity of the house, which they were. The more we read into the policy, the more we realised that the policy would not cover us. At this point we gave them a ring to sort things out.

They stated that we agreed to all the points (which we did not) we stated that we had not agreed to many of the points and that they ought to listen to the recorded telephone conversation that they said they had made when we agreed to the telephone call. aim4agreatquote told us that they had lost the recording, which we found very convenient for them!

We decided to cancel the policy because it was obvious we were no longer insured at which point they told us we had to pay a £50 admin fee. We found this yet another cheat or dupe considering on their invoice it stated in black and white that we had a 14 day cooling off period.

They told us that it only applied to the insurance company and not them because they were only agents. They wanted a fee for services. What services we asked? The website service was their response.

It seems to me that this company is giving out cheap quotes in order to draw unwitting customers in. Even if the quote they give is inaccurate they are able to claim a £50 service fee. Therefore, when you find out that the policy is flawed, they still make money (or more truthfully con money) out of the customer.

This website Aim4agreatquote is to be avoided at all costs. The website should be called Aim4agreatquote and be ripped off!!!

The customer support is a joke. You phone to sort something out, they do not know the answer, say someone will call you back and they dont.
Watch out if you cancel the policy, they have a large admin fee!
