Dead Space On The Pc Can Boast Some Of The Best Gr
Dead Space on the pc can boast some of the best graphics I have ever seen on a computer game (and I have been playing games for 20 years plus!). It is a 3rd person 'terror' survival game in the mould of Doom 3. The plot is not without its merits in that you don't know what exactly has gone wrong. You are in space and part of the crew of an engineering repair ship. You responded to a distress call from a massive, deep-space mining vessel. When you get there, you find no crew. Instead, you see signs of devastation, gruesome signs of beastly murder and freaky monsters everywhere. Even though in reality the plot is dead-linear (dead - lol!), the designers have artfully designed the levels so it feels there is ample space and choice of where to go. That is an illusion. Every corridor holds a new terrifying enemy that will jump on you, so be prepared for a scary ride. You get to customise your arsenal and armour, which helps in terms of addiction and gives the game a pseudo-RPG twist. You also have to interact with the environment to progress, a fact helped by the decent physics engine employed. The sound is moody and atmospheric and the whole look of the game is polished and smells of quality. The downside is that the action gets pretty repetitive after a couple of goes of playing, and you might just lose the interest required to carry on. I would recommend this game on the grounds that it is very scary and realistic (in terms of graphics and sound). It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but if you are into horror and shooters in general, then you should give it a go.
