unday after the pub had been recommended by a friend. We were most impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness and speedy service. But most of all we appreciated the variety on the menu from faggots to more exotic fare.
We will be going back again with our friends and/or family.
The pub got very busy but the staff coped admirably, always with a smile.
Well done to the kitchen staff too.

The Queen's Head is something quite unique, all the charm of an old pub with the food, service and ambience of a good restaurant.
the staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. the bar stocks an excellent selection of wines and beers. But the true star (apart from the lady i shared my evening with)was the food. reasonable priced, cooked freshly to order and in ample quantity, it arrived hot and perfectly seasoned. for me the star was the brie wrapped in salmon in a light beer batter with caramelised onion and a light balsamic dressing. The pork belly main melted on the palate, with the sweetness of the pork offest well against a smoked bacon mash. i could warble on for pages.
Easiest just to say that if you are in gloucestershire and want a fantastic meal in a wonderful environment, the Queens Head sets a high standard.

I would without hesitation recommend the Queens Head at Twigworth, Gloucester as the best eating place in town, be it for business or pleasure.

Love the place, a little gem of a restaurant/pub. Non commercial and a nice relaxed warm atmosphere. Go there, give it a try and if it's your first visit go for the signature of Longford lamb, yummy!!!!!

Was told about the Queens Head Inn pub/restaurant in Longford, Gloucester by friends so we gave it a try on Saturday
26th january the restaurant was packed with a great friendly atmosphere,
there signature dish is a dish called "Longford Lamb" a whole joint of lamb slow cooked it was gorgeous but dont try if your not hungry . my wife had fresh Baramundi with fresh isle of man scallops which was beautifully presented and she said it tasted as good as it looked. they had a number of real ales on and i see they won gloucestershire rural pub of the year in2006 from c.a.m.r.a for real ales. well worth a visit but you will need to book at least a week before. we will return.
