I absolutely love this drink!. I first tried it about 3 years ago from a friend that had invited us over for dinner. I thought i was quite nice served neat then, although it wasn't until we went to a restaurant & they served it along with an Italian dessert called Affogato that I really understood how much it brings out certain food flavors. This dessert is served with espresso coffee ^ ice cream & it just married the flavors so incredibly well. It is a really high alcohol content drink so be careful not to have too much though. I felt quite tipsy after that desert & i am sure it wasnt the chef's intent (of course I had some red wine with my meal, which might have been part of what sent me over the edge!).

Sambuca is a notorius drink being drunk at the end of the parties. However it no longer just for that if you try it at Richmond's Revolution bar.
It may even appear posh in good company. I went to Revolution in Richmond with a bunch of friends the other night and we started on black sambuca which was great choice. It does not taste alcoholic at all and is served with coffee beans which makes the whole thing interesting and fashionable.
After you had one you seem to be keen for another which hits the spot very well and is tremendous conversation starter. I would rcomend sambuca to anyone which is after a nice posh drink without football relation at all.
