“Bad service from PayPal”

Since xoom is part of PayPal is not the same it is so difficult to send money ! You do all the paper work and when you want to complete it it goes to pay pal and stops! You can not do anything else I been trying to send money to Guatemala since last week and I can't!! It sucks!!

“Get advice before you pay”

I tryed to send money to my sister I get the application I was tryed to send $2,500.00 they say it's to much I so I just change the amount to $1,500.00 it was going tru I did all the steps but my sister was waiting for this money to close a business she call me 2 hours after she did not received the money I check my email and I have this . !!!!!They will keep the money on hold 3 to 4 day until my bank approved this transaction . The never advice this before .I will never tryed to use this service again I called I canceled and I went to my bank to take my money but they have my money on hold so thank for this !!!!

“Refer-a-friend-and-win-a-walmart-card is a LIE!!!”

I referred my mom and brother to use xoom.com to send remittance to the Philippines. The ad in xoom says that we get to receive walmart card if we do refer. Never have i received any. I emailed the customer service of xoom but to no avail, I got no response. Xoom got good service. But their ads lie!

“Xoom Phone-app mistaken transaction”

By mistake because of Xoom.com money transfer money app(its just insanely stupid, this app dint even confirm as what i was just checking my first transaction), it was too late until i can understand what had happened ,i transferred money 2nd time by mistake into my bank account in India, 2nd transaction was by mistake happened when i was checking this Iphope-app next day. Now the problem is that In my USA bank account i have money only to pay for my one transaction which is $2800, when i called customer service about this they said that they cannot revert this, because money is already credited same amount 2nd time also into my Indian bank account in just less than a minute, now i don't have that much money into my USA bank account to pay, i can only pay for my 1 transaction----i don't know what to do because now i have to pay $5600, which is obviously i don't have that money into my account right now--- i don't want to face any kind of legal problems because of this APP error

I am sorry to hear about your experience. The App is set up so that you can easily view your recent transaction, and then separately send additional funds. On the "Quick Send" page you'll be asked to continue to the "Review" page where you can adjust the send amount or "Slide to Send." We do apologize if these features were misunderstood to be showing the status of your recent transaction. As the account holder of the Indian account you can ask the bank to reject the second transaction which would return the funds to Xoom, at which time we would be able to cancel the transaction and refund you.

“Terrible Customer Service!”

I love that transfers are really fast. However, when I had a technical problem, the rep who answered the call was condescending. He pointed out that it is impossible for the promo code field not to appear in the review. He told me that I just overlooked it. I have been sending money to the Philippines using promo codes and never had a problem. Humbly speaking, I am so keen to details which is essential for my job, I am sure I have not overlooked the space for the promo code. The premise of my argument is not predicated on the dollar value I had to pay, rather, I felt cheated and no one heard me out and everyone insisted that Im at fault. I can spend hundreds of dollars on grocery. I am not tight on budget, but I would definitely argue over a penny if I feel cheated; again the argument is not over the penny, but over the fact that the business just surmised I would be passive about it or will overlook the matter. The customer service does not even deserve a single star, because a single star could be credited for the effort to at least listen.

“5 days and still in process”

I expected a lot from Xoom but could not get it. I created a transaction 5 days ago and it is still in process. When I called customer care, I was shocked to hear that all transactions are not completed in 4 hours. Some transactions takes up to 4 business days. Even after 4 days also the money was not sent to receiver's bank. I choose Xoom and agreed to pay the transaction fees hoping that the money will be transferred fast. But it did not happen. When the money is not transferred in 4 hours why do they have to charge transaction fees? Also few banks are not listed in Xoom for direct deposit in to bank account. I recommend Xoom to 1. clearly mention which transactions takes longer time 2. Add all banks.

Thank you for your comments. The process you are referring to is actually the payment process and it can take up to four business days for your payment to be received by Xoom. Xoom does have certain proprietary features that allow us to virtually speed up your transaction. The majority of all Xoom transactions are processed in this manner and experience the 4 hour deposits you mentioned. However, at times we must verify funds availability before completing the transaction. To answer your second question, we do offer service to almost any bank in India. If your desired bank is not listed in our extensive drop down menu, you can simply type in the name of the bank.

Thank you for your feedback. The experience you describe is the actual time it takes for your payment to process. It can take up to four business days for Xoom to receive your payment. This is not a process that is proprietary to Xoom, but rather is a widely used payment process and is much the same as writing a check in that the payment must clear before the merchant receives payment. With that said, Xoom does have a proprietary method of speeding up transactions, and that applies to the majority of all Xoom transactions just as the advertisements claim. At times we must allow the payment process to proceed as designed. That is what occurred. Your assertion that Xoom is somehow "double dipping" into our customers accounts is completely false. Once again, I do apologize if there has been any inconvenience or misunderstanding.

Yes that will result to double dipping as per customer rep had mentioned that my first transaction will only be refunded within 2 days so at the time that i'm giving out my debit card account my bank has been debited twice..
As I have mentioned that your Xoom commercial says Fast Service and money remittance in minutes NOT 4 DAYS OKEY, WHY DO YOU THINK I'VE CANCEL MY FIRST TRANSACTION???? Recently, the customer service has degraded substantially and most of the reps exhibit stupidity and idiocy. They should be trained how to interact with customer along with their product knowledge.

“transaction canceled”

“Change of currency”

Recently i made a transaction to peru and my sister always get the money in us dollars, but this time she got it in soles which made bad for her because when she received the money they gave her less money over there than the actual 220$. you guys need to check first before sending the money in what currency the recipient will get it.

“Good service but inefficient referral system”

Xoom is an excellent money transfer service to India. The speed is impressive. I am giving it 2 stars because it did not process the referral bonus I was supposed to receive. When me and my friend (whom I referred) contacted Xoom, we got response saying my friend used a different referral email and this is incorrect since my friend clicked on the right link. We did not get good follow up response on this matter. Result: I did not receive the bonus, neither did my friend. I hope Xoom administration is reading this and make ammendments, otherwise its really difficult to publicize your referral policy.

Please find the attached copy of the mails i received from you regarding documentation, does it say anywhere that after you get the documents from me, there are chances of rejection even if the documents are authentic ? And does your mail says you can reject my request without giving any valid reason ? The documents which i have provided to you are really private, i really had to make my mind and put some effort to send those to you. I dont have any doubt about you handling them properly, but please think from a customers point of view, dont you think i deserve a valid reason of why my request is rejected ? If you are not fare to the customer how can you expect us to refer our friends to join you, we receive a mail every day about it from you and also a mail to transfer more money as the rates are good, how can i do that if you wont increase the limit. I have also used other modes to transfer money to India (of-course you know that now as you have my bank statements), but for a while i thought that Xoom is better then other companies.

“Why you dont hire English speakers”

Very poor Customer Service, either rude when you request a Spanish speaker or no able to understand to the Philippino employees. I send money with a checking account and it will take 4 days for them to verify for security purposes they called, is no since I only sending $55.00 dollars including their fees and my family need the money, verification should not take take 4 days when can be done in one day by only contacting my bank, very poor seams like you are dealing with a third world services...

“Convenient but very low exchange rate”

I normally transfer money to India. The service is great and fast, however the exchange rate is much lower compared to other services like remit2india. For smaller amounts just above 1000 Xoom is great, however if you wish to transfer a larger sum of money Xoom is not your best bet.

“It Took 6 days to Transfer and Poor response from Cust...”

I had a very bad experience with Xoom this time for the below reasons. 1. It took exactly 6 days to transfer the money(May 7 to may 13) 2. When I initiated the transaction, exchange rate was 53.40 rupees/dollar 3. I got a mail from Xoom that i have to submit reciever's Id proof to proceed with the transaction 4. After two days when the exchange rate increased to 54.00, when When i have not submitted any proof as they have asked, still the transaction is approved and i got a mail that transaction is getting processed(If the Id prrof was mandatory initially, then why did they completed the trnsaction??) 5. The reason was simple and it was cz of diff between exchange rate when i have initiated and when they actually processed. 6. After 6+ days, the money was transferred with the old exchange rate. 7. In between I have called the Customer care some 4 times, all they disconnected the call abruptly when i asked about the status. Overall it is a high dissatisfaction for me.

“This site is good and bad!!!!”

The good things about this site is the money is transferred fast and reliable. The bad things I don't like about it is the exchange rate is not right with this company, I know what the daily global exchange rate is between the Philippine Pesos and the US Dollar. When making the transfer it comes out to be about 2 pesos per dollar less than what it should be. Where is that extra money going that they are taking. If you are sending lets say $1,000.00 US Dollars, the exchange rate should be $42,000.00 Pesos but all they are receiving is $40,000.00 Pesos. Where is the other $2,000.00 Pesos? Secondly is when referring a friend, I referred 2 times and never received anything from them, so stop making false claims. Customer service needs to work on how they interact with people and try to know what they are saying and speed the process. I wanted to cancel a transaction and they said it will take 3 days to cancel and up to 5 days to return to your bank account. If they take it out of your account fast, why not put it back fast, just a thought.

1. Exchange rate - There are different exchange rates. It depends on who is quoting the rate. We in no way say we offer the very best rates, but we believe that we offer a competitive rate. When coupled with the speed of our service, the convenience and our 24/7 customer support we feel that our value is hard to beat.

2. Refer a Friend - We fulfill 100% of all valid referrals. If you have an issue with a referral please send us a message and we will assist you with that.

3. Cancellation process - The ACH system which is used to process payment is not a proprietary Xoom system. The amount of time it can take to refund the account is industry standard for ACH payments. Furthermore we tend to alert customers to the maximum possible time it can take to process a refund, however it is generally much less time than the maximum.

“Delayed Transactions”

I did a transaction on April 6th and its status changed to Transaction-Delay and when i called Customer service center they couldn't able to provide at least approximate amount which would be charged to my US bank account. but over all i felt its fair to transfer with xoom but i still have some reliable concerns with Delayed transactions.

I have used other services like Western Union. They are far more expensive, more difficult to use and not as polite customer service wise as Xoom. Not to sound like a commercial for Xoom, but, they are incredible and awesome. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

For me xoom is much more user friendly and economical, especially for the country I am sending to. Western Union is more expensive and a hassle to retrieve; money gram is not readily available. I have not had any problems using Xoom service; would recommend their customer service is quite helpful

the first requirement so that you can send money to Uk is that you should have a bank card with an amount that isnotless than you can send. Thisbank deposits should be your basis even if you send to another country as long as your bank deposits are there.
