This was my first printer and overall it did do as it said on the box. But it did swallow up ink as if it were water which proved costly and Epson cartridges are not cheap. After 13 month of average use it gave up the ghost and died, costing to much to repair, it ended up on the council recycle tip.

The Epson D92 can only work with ink in all cartridges. If you only want to print in black and white, you cannot with it, unless you have ink in colour.

The Epson D92 Inkjet Printer is very poor, print quality varies wildly from very good to dreadful, software is borky and unhelpful. Wastes ink like its free which it ain't... Cheaper to buy a new printer that comes with cartridges than it is to buy a new set of Epson replacement cartridges, that is not right is it?

Slow printing speed as far as I am concerned, in printing out a document of 37 pages in the text/image setting in printer settings (mostly text and tables in the file) it took over 40minutes in my case.
Noisy paper feed in my opinion too.
(nb. compared to using a epson stylus photo r200)
Therefore I do not recommend Epson d92

This is WRONG!
Using Windows 7 Go to:
Start > Devices & Printers > Epson Stylus D92 Series > Adjust print options >
on the "Main" tab select Advanced > continue > and finally tick the box "Black ink only"
I've never used it myself, but it should work.
