I Am Now On My Third Honda Gold Wing. I Have Had T
I am now on my third Honda Gold Wing.
I have had two 1984's-Bought the 1st one new in 84: GL1200A, and put 5K on it the 1st month!
I was amazed how good it handled for a big bike.
I put a Corbin seat on it (Big improvement over stock saddle).
Had this one for six years but sold it after a bad injury.
About five years ago bought another 84 GL1200A-Great bike that I just traded for a new GL 1800.
I had planed on getting a 08 R1200RT, but the BMW dealer wanted to play games on my trade-while the Honda dealer offered four times as much, and a better deal on a better equipped bike.
Would recommend the bikes to anyone-THAT HAS experience-this should not be a starters bike
I was looking to see if anyone has written a review on the 2008 / 2009 GL1800 Gold Wind could not find one. HOWEVER .! I have taken one out for test ride and loved it so much that my one hour test ride turned into .well lets just say they were locking up and ready to go home at the end of the day when I rolled back in with it. Does that give you any idea of how long I was out on it..? I was there first thing in the morning when the doors opened LOL In fact was so impressed that is have made plans to get one this year I hope that I can do so before the summer ends. Right now I have a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero the VT750, and I love that bike but I have gotten into serious long haul touring now and the shadow while very nice and does a great job is not the sort of bike you hit the road with and do major touring with. You could its just a matter of comfort and power all the storage that the GL1800 has that I love. And all the toys are very nice too! The GPS, XM radio, and all that stuff
Will write review as soon as I get one soon . And as soon as I get to know the bike some like about 10,000Km's which should only take me 6 months for just goofing around to clock on it.
