“False Stock Expectations ** DO NOT ORDER FORM THIS...”

I ordered some filters and even rang in (before placing the order!) to make sure they can deliver on time, as I wanted the items before I went on holiday (10th). Everything was OK when I rang in to confirm. 1. Ordered items on the 3rd. Rang Customer "Service" - promised I would have them in a couple of days! I was evening willing to pay extra to make sure I got my delivery on time but was assured I can get in on free delivery. 2. Get an email on the 4th items will be shipped on 8th!!! So I email customer "Service" - item not in stock will definitely be with them on the 8th and they will ship next day! I was given the opportunity to cancel the order but when promised delivery for 9th. I assumed it would be fine and in time for me to take the items on holiday. 3. 9th arrived - no Mr. Postman with my delivery! Write a quick email to customer "Service" - response back: "We regret to inform you that your parcel didnt ship yesterday due to a shortage on our delivery. We contacted our supplier promptly and we discovered this morning that our supplier is actually out of stock on one item". So when I was promised delivery - they hadn't even checked with the supplier to ensure items were available! So now I am due to go on holiday tomorrow with NOTHING and to cap it all I even arranged to work from home so I could ensure I could take delivery (even told customer "service" that). The didn't even bother to contact me to see if they could part ship - NO COMMUNICATION at all unless I chased up!! I would NEVER order anything from this company again!!

“foto Nonsense”

I ordered a camera which was in stock but would take 1-3 days to ship. I was charged immediately and told it would be despatched in 4 days time (already over the 3 days) but 4 days came and went and still no camera. I contacted fotosense after a further 4 days (now 8 days) and told stock would be arriving today. A further 3 days passed and still no camera in stock but "should" be in next week. After nearly 2 weeks and still no sign of the camera I cancelled the order which was the best thing I did. Just waiting to get my money back now. If you want proper service go through a proper company.

“Misleading Stock Levels ”

Coming across this website for the first time, I did a search for reviews. Several I saw dating as far back as 2009 had reviews where customers had placed orders for 'in stock' items only to find they were out of stock. This wasn't the odd occurrence, it seemed a common complaint. Well, after reading that, I decided to call them and guess what? Both cameras were out of stock and not expected in for the best part of a week. It seems they still either have problems updating their website or else deliberately mis-state their stock situation. It's still a common complaint about them in many reviews. For the sake of saving £20 or so on a £300 camera, I'd rather trade with someone who is upfront about what they can offer. To make it worse, there was no apology, no offer to let me know when the goods came in, nothing at all to get my custom. Perhaps that's because they know the goods will take much longer to get in stock than they said....

“Incompetent staff and service!”

I ordered a Nikon battery charger mid July and was informed that delivery would be between 1 and 3 days! After 4 days I telephoned the store, eventually got through and was promised expedited delivery at no extra cost and that my order would be posted that day, it didn't arrive but an email arrived four days later advising that the item would be delayed for a further month. It offered a cancellation via a link in the email which did not work! So I went onto the website and cancelled the order and ordered the charger from another supplier (arrived within 2days). Today the charger arrived from fotosense....I tried to phone them, constantly engaged, no surprise there! Emailed them through their web page, requested that they pay for return postage as I had cancelled the order, oh no that definately was not going to happen as I didn't cancel in writing despite the email saying I could cancel via email. They informed me that the email I received would have stated this, I sent them a screenshot of the email showing them proof that it did not. Apparently when I eventually spoke to someone who claimed to be 'the manager' he said they can't open attachments so I couldn't prove it. All in all I'm still not happy, I will never use this company again as the customer service is non existant, they are more than happy to tell untruths even though proof is available. Basically avoid at all costs, you have been warned.

“Never had the stock”

After waiting for 4 days for my order to despatched, I contacted Fotosense to find out what was going on only to be told they didn't actually have any stock. Timewasters, avoid!

“Poor service & even poorer delivery.”

Ordered a Billingham bag, which cost over £200, was told item is in stock on two occasions. Only for the item to be kept in processing for 4 days. I was then told that I should of paid an extra £8 to get it delivered quicker. Rubbish.

“Apalling sales service”

On needing help purchasing some photographic gear I got in touch with fotosense but I have never come across such an apalling sales service. Fotosense totally ignored four emails outling what I needed (Of which the value was about £2000). I telephoned twice, the first sales guy was impatient and rather unhelpful. On the second occasion the female assistant was more than useless. She promised an answer to my last email within the hour but they still haven't replied. If they can't be bothered to sell £2000 of gear I dread to think what their aftersales might be like!

“If you want good service, try elsewhere!!”

Having had an Olympus VR-310 delivered by fotoSense, i eagerly unpacked it, connected it the computer and watched the camera crash whilst loading the software. Upon contacting the seller,i was told to return the camera and the battery pack and postage would be refunded. I was told that another camera would be despatched straight away. I was also told to return all the cables and paperwork from the first camera. It took 2 days before another camera was despatched and when it arrived, it had the same problems as the last one!! I was again told to return the camera to fotoSense and i would be refunded immediately. As soon as the camera was delivered to them, i phoned them and was told a refund would be issued straight away.It wasn't. Because i paid with Paypal, i was able to make a claim for my refund. I was offered the option of a partial refund by fotoSense, this being just the cost of the camera. I was not given any of my postage costs back. I have lost a total of £25 in postage costs because of this company.I always believed that if an item is faulty, the postage costs are down to the supplier, not the purchaser. This is, without doubt, the worst company i have ever dealt with and i advise any prospective buyer to think carefully before dealing with them

“Appalling”

I ordered two items, which were indicated as being in stock. However, one of the items delivered was different to the item I had ordered. No explanation, no e-mail sent before delivery, just 'here we go, I've decided to give you this'. Even the invoice hadn't been changed to indicate that it was a different item. When I e-mailed, I was informed that what I had ordered was discontinued (so why was it indicated that it was in stock), but no explanation was given as to why I was not informed beforehand. What really annoys me is that the item is clearly inferior and can be found for half the price, of what I paid. What really kills me though is part of the reply that states: 'If i recieved this service from a company i will be more than happy' You get the idea with whom you are dealing.

We feel this review is very misleading to other consumers. We would like to explain what happened with this customers order to enable you to make up your own mind if this deserved a one star rating.
Firstly the customer ordered at 12 o’clock on the 21/06. Her goods were delivered the very next day despite her paying for a longer delivery method.
The customer ordered a Marumi filter priced at £56 and a Hoya 67-72mm Step up ring at £9, For those that don’t know a step up ring is a piece of metal with 2 thread sizes that convert a 67mm thread to a 72mm thread to enable a lens to have a larger filter on it. In this case for the Marumi 72mm filter.
The customers order went to the warehouse to be packed and it was found that the Hoya step up ring was out of stock. In the event of Hoya step up rings being out of stock we automatically substitute for a Cokin step up ring. This is identical to the Hoya one in every respect. It is manufactured in Japan to the exact spec of the Hoya one.
He shipped the customers order on the same day they ordered and they received both items by next day delivery.

Virtually impossible to contact them. No response to emails. No answer on the phone.
Ordered Goods over two weeks ago and still no sign of the product no reply from them with a tracking number. Maybe they are slightly cheaper but I would advise everyone to steer clear from them.
Too many negative reviews and the positive ones are probably written by themselves.
I am about to start a charge back claim with the credit card company.

Ordered a new camera bag (terraclime 100).
After a week of waiting for the item and nothing from Fotosense sent them an e-mail asking what was happening.
Got reply stating out of stock and money will be refunded. My gripe is not that it was out of stock (which was annoying as need the bag before I go on holiday!!) its the fact I had to contact them almost a week later to be told that the bag was out of stock. What if I hadnt contacted them until now? Would they of told me I was being refunded, I think not!
Overall not a good service and e-mails I got from them where badly written and very short!

Why doesn't some agency such as trading standards stop fraudulent companies like this from operating?? I was called by Fotosense to say that a camera I had ordered was in stock and ready to be posted out (this after having had to ask for a refund originally as they took my payment then emailed to say they were out of stock). The same day i went on to their website (which showed 5 items in stock) and bought the camera. i called the following morning to let them know I'd ordered as he'd asked me to. He wasn't available but an lady said she would pass the message on but i would get delivery end of last week or Monday at the latest. I didnt! I emailed yesterday and had no response so have called today and spoke to the same lady who said there aren't any in stock (despite their website stating their are 10 in stock). I asked to speak to the manager but he was too busy to speak to me so they are giving me a refund. Strangely they knew it was me without even asking who i was or any details about me...perhaps I was the only buyer of this type of camera which confirms they are fraudulently advertising goods that they dont have!!! Avoid like the plague...it will only cause upset.

We would like to respond to this review, firstly to defend ourselves against the false accusations the customer has made and also to give our account of the customers order. Firstly the customer asks the question,'why doesn't some agency such as trading standards stop fraudulent companies like this from operating?' The answer is that we are not a fraudulant company and in our ten years of trading have had no issues with trading standards, Yet without any proof this customer is allowed to libel our good name and review centre allow him to do so. This customer placed an order for a Fuji camera that was a Pre-Order item and was clearly marked on our website as out of stock and pre-order with an expected due date of 3-4 weeks. We then emailed the customer to confirm this and he requested that we refund his order until the goods arrived. We were happy to do this.

<br/>We received a limited quantity of 5 camera's and contacted the customer to advise we were now in stock and ready to ship his order. The customer advised he had now changed his mind and was going to think again about the camera and would come back to us. As this was on a Friday we waited until the end of business and the customer had not come back to us. We put the camera's into stock and proceeded to sell the camera's online on Friday night. On Monday the customer phoned Fotosense to advise that he had placed a new order online on Friday night. ( He was not asked to do this as is stated in his review) His order was placed after a further 5 customers and therefore when stock was allocated on Monday on our return to the office it is allocated on a first come first served basis and we were sold out. The website reflected this stock position at the time and was not 'fraudulently advertising goods we didn't have' as was claimed by the customer.

<br/>The fact is we did everything the customer asked us to do and if he hadn't changed his mind on the camera he would have received the next working day.

I ordered an item online which showed "In Stock". I did require this for a job I had coming up. After a week I called re my order only to be told they had no stock and it would be 4 weeks!! Staff member was also a bit flippant with me.

They are advertising equipment at low prices and don't even inform you if the item turns out not to be in stock! Be sure to call in an order to be sure that actually have it.

“I am bitterly disappointed with the Fotosense customer...”

I am bitterly disappointed with the Fotosense customer service/after care team. I had to chase my order several times having received no email from them regarding the dispatch time. I was informed that no order had been placed so I had to go via Paypal to demonstrate my proof of order and payment. The delivery was very slow and when the order finally arrived, 2 of the 5 items were faulty. Fotosense also failed to include any instruction manuals so I had to spend extra time chasing these up myself.

I emailed them to discuss the problems I had regarding their slow response time and faulty products only to receive a very rude response from them FIVE days later to tell me that they repond to all emails within 24 hours!?! What a joke! I am still trying to resolve the problems now.

I would urge all potential customers to spend a few more pounds and shop elsewhere. I saved around £18 by shopping with Fotosense but gained a huge headache and a lot of hassle - simple not worth it!

Ordered an Interfit 411 flash trigger which appeared to be good value, when it arrived it was clearly secondhand and had been well used.

When I contacted them they would not listen and disputed my word. It was scratched, the battery compartment was marked and the packaging damaged.

what upset me most is their attitude about the whole thing..no apologies, never again, I'll pay more for the postage and next time.

Jessops was out of stock so I ordered a Billingham camera bag for a last rush xmas present on their website and was listed as in stock. Received a few emails over days after placing the order stating it was in low stock and now is out of stock! Had no apologies but FotoSENSE Ltd believe that it is not their fault and is just how sometimes they operate.

How can a company list products in stock and source them from suppliers after a customer completes an order with them! VERY MISSING LEADING

“I ordered a 2 head lighting studio & a few other bits...”

I ordered a 2 head lighting studio & a few other bits - it took 10 days to arrive & I received a damaged 3 head lighting studio that had been used & was evidently a customer return. Was this a genuine mistake? or was they hoping I'd overlook the bent lighting stands & keep it as it costs £100 more than the 2 head version I ordered? I complained & they collected it & delivered the correct item this time which was new.

A few weeks later IR transmitter I purchased from them stopped working. Its box looked tatty when I initially received it, so I'm wondering if it was refurbished to begin with. I was told to return it, but now I have Fotosense have told me it will take upto 6 weeks to replace :O Were they hoping I'd opt for a refund so they'd save on having to post a replacement part?

Their prices seem reasonable, although half the stuff they advertise they don't have in stock, but instead order it in as they receive orders meaning that you'll be left waiting for you goods. I will NOT be using Fotosense again!

I normally read reviews online before i buy but on this occasion i did not due the cost of the goods being fairly cheap! BIG MISTAKE
AVOID!!!!!! this company at all costs im still awaiting delivery of a camera bag i ordered nearly a month ago! there first excuse was that it was returned to them in the post because "I" gave the wrong postal address, clearly i dont know where i live after all these years?? They said they would re-post it to me and i did get an e-mail confirmation saying so, over a week later i still hadn't received anything and sent and an e-mail this time chasing it up! I got a short and sweet reply saying wait till the 21st dec!!! if i hadn't got it by then they would send another!! I replied again to explain this is a christmas present, and by then i would have waited 6-7 weeks and i very much doubt they would get it to me in 3 days! i then asked for a refund so as i could place my order elsewhere. Next e-mail said i could have a refund but not until the 21st Dec (they love that date!) less the amount of sending the item twice!!!! So now im paying postage for something i haven't received twice!! In short they are bunch of money grabbing MUPPETS!!! to date NO BAG NO REFUND NOTHING!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! thank god i didn't order a camera from them!!!!

Dreadful company. Placed an order when the product was in stock, confirmation email received straight away with an expected 2-3 day delivery......then nothing from them. No communication, "no sorry it's out of stock, expected delivery is......" nothing. Chased them 11 days after placing the order (they already took the money for it) and cancelled. Assistant didn't even apologies. Came across as a regular thing to him. AVOID them.
