“homecare insurance”

i just checked my statements, and i saw a direct debit is coming out of my account £8.99, and its been going on for a while now, almost a year!!!! i got my phone around 1.5 years ago so it started around 6,7 months after i got my new contract and phone, and i did not insure my phone 100% sure of it, im with t-mobile as you've probably guessed by now, it says homecare insurance on my statement, i searched it on google and i found this site and you guys talking about this, its 100% dodgy, i never insured my phone and i've never heard of this company, the whole thing is fraud, i think they take accounts from t-mobile confidential directory and take little sums of money outta customers accounts in the name of insurance, so watch out,, im gonna cancel it straight away and block my account to this company, best way is to put a password on your account.. good luck , scam free :)

well i do every few months, but i have lots of direct debits on my account so it didn't catch my eye, i have insurance for my laptop its £8 pm, last time i checked i thought its my laptop insurance, this time i saw there's another £8 going out under the name of pcworld bla bla, then i realized the 8.99 sum is not the one i authorized, its been stopped now anyway, the person on the phone said she's heard this a few times and its under investigation, hope they stop them once and for all. good day

after reading all the reviews i got myself worked up and stresses about my claim,my fone was lost.but i was pleasantly surprised.i claimed on Saturday, they called me on Wednesday to confirm few details and then they said my claim has gone through.i received my fone within two days.the fone was refurbished and it did have few scratches, but i was happy i had a fone and it worked.i will be cancelling my insurance with purely because its overpriced and the refurbished phone.but they did everything within the time scale.

“To be honest, I can't complain...”

I had my phone pick pocketed from me on the 1st of Feb 2012, and through my claim there were a few self inflicted complications; I forgot I had my phone swapped 6 months ago at an apple store 6 months ago, i didn't report the new IMEI number, all I had to do is get the receipt of swapping from apple and proof of barring and blacklisting from orange. I called up fonesafe today, sent them the documents via email they put me straight through to a guy from santander, my claim was accepted. He told me today that i will receive a BACs payment of £499 to replace my iPhone 4 16GB. So i was sorted really, I did worry looking at these reviews while i was sorting the claim out, so thought id put this review on to balance the argument as most people make reviews out of annoyance. **** STARS

we don't make reviews out of annoyance... what you are saying sounds pretty weird to me... I have made a claim and 7 days later they said they require additional information and they will get back to me within another 10 days... it's very weird that out of all the people you were sorted immediately. I believe this company is fraudulent to say the least and its terms and conditions are amongst the unfairest of all the insurances. I have been insured every year for the past 7 years and I had never ever had problems with any of my claims before... these guys are rubbish!!! Please do not believe this review, stay away from Fonesafe and Homecare Ltd altogether!

“I insured my Iphone4 through T-Mobile with fonesafe...”

written by on 14/01/2011

I insured my Iphone4 through T-Mobile with fonesafe when I took out my contract. Although a bit expensive at £12.99 I thought it worth insuring due to the high value of the phone. Unfortunately I lost my phone on new years eve having it fallen out of my pocket. I followed the instructions in the terms and conditions by calling T-mobile within 24 hours and fone safe as soon as they re-opened after the new year break. I put my claim in on the 4th January. Today, 14 January, I received email confirmation that my claim is accepted and having paid the excess I will have a brand new replacement Iphone4 within 48 hours. Reading through past reviews, I dont know if I have just been lucky, but apart from the quite long period of processing the claim, I have had no problems whatsoever. It really is a case of sticking to the terms and conditions from my experience. If you dont like the T&C's cancel your insurance!

“Dear people who purchase mobile phone insurance: ”

Dear people who purchase mobile phone insurance:

READ YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE MAKING A CLAIM, EVERY INSUEANCE YOU TAKE OUT, HOME,CAR,MOBILE PHONE HAS COMPLEX T&C's YOU MUST READ THEM.

As an insurance company phonesafe are not bad, if you have not broken your terms and conditions you will be fine. Also the amount of dodgy claims has made insurance companies so strict with t and c's. I used to work for O2 insurance, but now have a t-mobile contract, and made a claim for loss with phone safe. I had to send off quite a few docs b4 I got my claim put through, but this is the same across the board for all insurance companies, at O2 we would replace phones in 48hrs but only damages! People often forget how much your phone is worth new, the average price of a new mobile is £380. People forget this, we don't live in the age of £30 mobiles anymore, we carry around small computers. Now I will say
some conditions seem tough, and every insurance company has bad reviews, all people who have had claims rejected, a lot of this is down to people not understanding the insurance, I know for a fact that most people just assume cause they pay a monthly fee, they feel it's a gods given right to have a insurance claim put through, but I remember that some people were just plain stupid, THINK AND READ YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

“Hello, ”

★★★★☆

written by amitkarpe on 09/05/2010

Hello,

I bought a new phone on T Mobile and as usual got an insurance plan. By default, T Mobile sells FoneSafe Mobile insurance. Just to do the background check when I read the reviews on this site about FoneSafe they were really concerning, because although I am not the one to lose my phone I do damage it by dropping on the floor and by other accidental way. It was discouraging to see that the company doesn't pay out. Also, the customer service was rated very poor on various sites.

My experience was completely different. I lost my phone within 2 weeks of purchase! It was a brand new HTC Desire, I am a glad to say the Phone was replaced, it did take a weeks and a half for the processing and delivery of the phone but considering FoneSafe had not even taken the first payment they paid out the phone. The only thing which was not according to satisfaction is, I had to pay £50 excess and the phone was an "unused" phone and not a brand new one. Since the phone itself is a new one I was lucky to get a unused phone, or else they would have replaced it with a refurbished phone!

All in all, I am happy with FoneSafe.
