Having bought my Packard Bell Club 78 computer i discovered like everyone else once you have bought your computer from packard bell you are on your own, they are not intrested in you, the computer or any faults it has developed, well you live and learn, but I would advise anybody not to buy one of these you will regret it.

I discovered too late that Packard Bell has an unenviable reputation for poor product reliability. My computer, a club 78, has been a constant nightmare with problem after problem occurring over the last 18 months. Just type in: 'I Hate Packard Bell' on Google and you'll see endless stories of misery from Packard Bell owners.

What really lets PB down big time is their attitude to it's customers once they have your money. Quite simply once you've made your purchase you don't exist anymore to them. They aren't interested in keeping you happy and retaining your custom to the brand as they know they have a thousand other suckers around the corner new to the world of PC's. Emails to their support are unanswered, (I've tried many times), or at best they will reply requesting you phone their premium rate number, where you will be told to back up your data and reformat using 'Smart Restore' regardless of your problem. This is the only thing they know about, excluding flogging you expensive Master CD-ROMS's which they should have supplied you with in the first place but didn't. Pathetic! What makes PB's so problematic is upgrading, as they come with no Windows/Drivers CD-ROM's as all the software is pre-installed. This means that should your hard drive fail after 366 days you are up a certain creek without a paddle, as you would have to go out and purchase a Windows CD ... and as for what you do regarding the drivers / other software (MS Word etc.)... ?

<br>I have been very fortunate with my PB of a similar age, but as the saying goes, 'Once bitten twice shy' - I didn't know then what I know now and I will look elsewhere next time.

Packard Bells are so bad they stopped selling them in the US years ago.
