I was an avid user of Norton AV software, but started to have problems with 2007/2008 and even more with 360.
Now, In my opinion Norton AV seems to hog my system resourses, and slows my pc. The customer service I've experienced has been poor, and I feel they have unable to resolve my issues, even after taking control of my pc remotely.

I had many trojan on my computer which Norton couldn't fix and I had to set up new windows and use different Anti-virus!
Also another time Norton couldn't see viruses while another program could detect it. I have to mention that this had happened though I used to update Norton virus database regularly.

I do not recommend Norton. I've had the service for about 2 years, and just got an old Trojan. Vundu virus. I called and they said it would cost $99.00 to have somebody help me remove it. Why did I buy virus protection. On my own, I found a Trojan.vundu virus removal application on Norton, ran that for about 2 hours, and it concluded that I didn't have the virus. But, the icon at the bottom said I did, and my computer isn't working correctly. The only thing that has been downloaded on the computer is Norton's updates. I know its silly... but I'm very mad at Norton, and will never use them again.

While I personally have had no problem with the anti-virus functionality (although I know a few people who have had issues), I think their "customer service" department is hopeless. I have been trying to change my registered address for 5 months and have logged 16 calls asking why their system will not accept my new postcode (and, no, it's not a new build house or anything like that), and they've still to give me an answer.
If they can't sort out something as simple as this, it gives me very little confidence in their ability to deal with something like, say, a virus.

Does now limit some internet programs from running and really helps to protect the PC from virus, need to renew and does not worth the money to do so, overall good but can be expensive therefore do not recommend Norton AntiVirus 2008.

I was not happy with the detection and removal rate, give a false sense of security as far as I am concerned. This shocking product told me I had a bloodhound sonor1 virus which it had "removed", however it's definition of removal is different to mine. What it failed to tell me was it had missed the SEVEN other trojan's that had infected my machine, and the bloodhound kept returning as far as I am aware.
I do not recommend Norton AntiVirus 2008 as in my opinion it was not worth the money due to my experience.
