JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for the Dreamcast may be an acquired taste, but if you're willing to give it a go, you may be pleasantly surprised. This game follows the overall storyline of "Stardust Cruisaders" (the most exposed part of Araki Hirohiko's long-running Jump series). That is, the vampire DIO rises again from the watery depths to battle anew with the bloodline he intermingled with. The fighters for the most part have stands (embodiments of psychic energies) that they can summon at will. Most gain a double jump ability, and a handful can have their stand move and fight as though they are the player character. Their abilities really bring the characters to life. While it doesn't feature the "Super Story Mode" of the version the Playstation got for some odd reason (which features practically every enemy), there are a few features that set it apart. For one, there is a survival mode in both the main game and the included arcade port of "Mirai e no Isan / JoJo's Venture". And it is tough as nails... Good luck if you're not the best at fighters! The audio's good too, with the music being passable or better, and the effects and voices make things even more exciting. Overall, this really brings a lot to the table for the Dreamcast where fighters are concerned, though it is pretty specialised.
