I heard about bottom drawer through a friend who had used the service and decided to use it to set up our honeymoon gift list. We were also looking to book our honeymoon and found top drawer through the site. when booking your honeymoon with top drawer (who were absolutely fantastic in tailoring our honeymoon to meet our specific needs and requirements) bottom drawer waive the admin fee which means there are no extra costs. Amazing. You can tailor your list as much as you want and this was really easy to set up. Our friends and family found the service really easy to use (aside from our older relatives who still gave cash/cheques in cards on the day) We were told we could keep the list open for as long as we wanted after the wedding and when we told them we were ready to close the list after 2 weeks the full amount was in my bank account the next day. very efficient service and now we have our lovely honeymoon to look forward to as well.

We used the Bottom Drawer for our wedding gift list. We chose The Bottom Drawer as we wanted the flexibility of choosing various different gifts from lots of suppliers. I would highly recommend using the service, the communication was great and when we wanted to close the list we received the funds promptly. The only thing I found confusing was terms and conditions around waiving the administration fee, I think this could be simplified a bit. Overall a fab service!

We were recommended Bottom Drawer by friends who used it for their wedding and were not disappointed. The communication from day 1 was very efficient with clear instructions what to do. It made life a lot easier as we didn't have to even take a trip to the back to pay cheques/cash in! And most importantly the money was in our account when they said it would be! I would recommend Bottom Drawer to any one that asks Mat

The bottom drawer is easy to use and set up, as well as being really flexible in allowing you to structure your list as you wish- it was perfect for us in creating a gift list for our honeymoon and we got lots of positive feedback! Would definitely recommend this site to others- fees are reasonable too

Great service, very good customer care. The company are up-front about their fee's, I would advise trying to coordinate the honeymoon or the gift list with the same company to waiver the fee's.

Putting together our wedding giftlist with Bottomdrawer was great. It's simple, it's easy to put together and to update, and it's your list! I would recommend this service to others.

Nice and easy to use. Gilf list funds transfered within 3 days of request. A good range of companies supported by site, although Next would have been nice.

It was great to be able to select whatever we wanted for our gift list, from individual items to buy, to trips for our honeymoon. It was also handy that we were able to break down expensive items into several smaller purchases to make them more affordable. Afterwards, we were able to buy whatever we wanted from any shop (affiliated or not affiliated to the site); so all in all great flexibility. The list was easy to set up, new items could be added at any time, items could be moved up or down the list, which made it easier for the guests to browse. It was a nice touch that guests were able to write a personal message upon their purchase. And whenever guests purchased a gift we were sent an email alert so we could log on to see who bought what. The customer services team was always very quick to respond whenever we had a query. We also had a lot of compliments from our guests about the gift list, saying how original it was! I was recommended to use Bottom Drawer and I will definitely recommend it myself.

This is a great way to produce a gift list that is both helpful to your guests (it lays it all out for them to make it easy and almost fun), and for you (once your guests have made their choices the team are extremely helpful). I must admit at first we took this option just to give ourselves some slack when dealing with everything else, but in fact the process and the team at Bottom Drawer have been helpful throughout. We used The Bottom Drawer for our wedding gift list and it was fantastic. So flexible in the way that you can put together gift options. We used it to put together all the elements of our honeymoon and used top drawer holidays for the honeymoon. All our guests commented on what a great idea it was and they all felt a part of the honeymoon by purchasing parts of the trip from $10 taxi rides in New York to 75 EUR spa treatments in Iceland. Top Drawer Holidays helped make the honeymoon unique and were excellent value, we will definitely use them again for our future adventures.

We booked both our Honeymoon and used the gift list service from Top / Bottom draw. They assisted in the whole process and were excellent. We were happy that we had the freedom to list whatever we wanted and our guests liked the option to purchase an experience, drinks, dinner, travel costs etc.. rather than just giving money. I have no hesitation in recommending either company for any occasion.

We used both The Bottom Draw for our wedding list and The Top Drawer to organise and book our honeymoon and were delighted with both services. We found the process of organising our wedding quite daunting and somewhat stressful at times and this service made it so much easier. We loved the flexibility of the service - we could present our guests the option to contribute to specific items, make a cash contribution to our honeymoon or we made up some specific meaningfull gifts like - a bottle of champagne for our hotel room on the first night, a romantic meal, a private water taxi from the airport to our hotel (in Venice). We even snuck in a couple of comedy items like 'Just Married' toilet paper :-) We partilularily liked that we could ask for reasonably expensive items and split it into contributions - so a guest could pay £25 towards a £10 gift. After the wedding we simply emailed the Bottom Drawer and they transferred the money to our account so we could go shopping ! As we also booked our honeymoon through The Top Drawer (also excellent service than you Ian for organising the perfect Venitian Honeymoon!) we got all this for free as well. Highly recommended.

A friend of ours recommended The Bottom Drawer as they had used them for their honeymoon fund. We are so pleased we used The Bottom Drawer, we were able to make little bundles of gifts for our guests to contribute too, accompanied by little funny comments to make our guests feel involved. Our guests found the service easy to use. I thoroughly recommend The Bottom Drawer - it is easy to use and easy to personalise.

A wonderful way of having a list from different places. We have lived together for ages so it was a really good way to update when we didn't need the basic start up as well as treat ourselves on our honeymoon. Well liked by our family and friends. Loved being able to see peoples comments and keepingban eye on our listThank you!

If you want to avoid the usual boring gift lists this is the one for you, you can choose presents, honeymoon adventures etc rather than the usual John Lewis plates that you probably already have. It's easy to set up and easy to use. It's also free if you book you're honeymoon with them, we did and had an amazing time in Vietnam.

My husband and I decided to use the Bottom Drawer for our wedding gift list as we'd already been living together for over 2 years before we got married. As a result we had already purchased most household goods that we needed and indeed wanted. To avoid receiving duplicates of products we already had, and indeed to avoid the danger of people buying us gifts we certainly didn't want, we decided to pull together a more diverse list through the Bottom Drawer which allowed us to pick a number of gifts from a variety of websites. Setting up the account and choosing our gifts was incredibly easy and was actually a fun task for the two of us to do together as we chose lots of days out, weekend spa breaks and fun things that we wanted to do once the hype of the wedding was over. Another huge benefit to the site was the fact you can divide the purchases into smaller amounts so that people can choose to spend either a little or a lot on you. The feedback from family and friends on the buying side was mixed, with some individuals finding the process easy and others finding it a little confusing. This might be something the Bottom Drawer could look at to improve their services. That said, everything on our list was purchased so clearly people worked it out eventually! Once we closed the gift list, again the process was incredibly straight forward. For those put off by having to buy the items on your own credit card through the affiliated sites before the money is released back to you, don't be. I made all the purchases in one go, put them on my credit card and emailed the Bottom Drawer with the list of my confirmed purchases straight away, then within 3 working days my purchases were confirmed and the money was in my bank account. By making sure you do it all in one go you can ensure that you get the money in your account before your credit card bill comes and therefore don't have to spend the money in real terms until you have it in the bank. There are so many sites that you can buy from too that we didn’t have any trouble actually spending the money. Even if you change your mind on what you want to buy between setting up the list and closing it after you get married, as long as the amounts are similar and you purchase from the affiliated sites, it’s fine. Communication with the staff at the Bottom Drawer was easy, quick and efficient. The only feedback to the company on this front is that email communication is face-less so the customer service team never sign off emails with a named person for example. This may be because lots of different people may deal with one customer and therefore it's to avoid confusion but from a customer service point of view, I personally think it's nice to make a personal connection with your client. Just a small point for the Bottom Drawer to consider and certainly nothing that would put me off recommending them as the service I received from the team was brilliant. All in all, a fabulous service that we would highly recommend and indeed use again should we have the occasion to do so.

Thanks for your review. Just a little note for other couples thinking of using us - we also transfer funds out to you BEFORE you start buying anything if you want, we just have to deduct the low admin fee of £89 from the transfer, which is then refunded to you once you've made all your purchases!
The Bottom Drawer

We used The Bottom Drawer to ask our wedding guests to contribute online to our dream honeymoon in Costa Rica. Our guests loved the idea of being able to buy us parts of the honeymoon (e.g night in a hotel or beach horseriding),which is so much nicer than just handing over cash without knowing how it'll be spent. We found the service good, especially when it came for the funds to be transferred to our account as this was done expediently and without any hassle whatsoever which meant our honeymoon credit cards got paid off on time! The website could be improved to make more intuitive and user friendly, however on the whole we'd recommend going for a similar service if you want a gentler way of asking for contributions to your honeymoon.

Well worth doing. Good site, easy to use, clear instructions and guidance, clear pricing and options, no nasty hidden surprises. Regular and prompt communication. High level of personalisation possible, site is flexible to your needs. Site looks and performs professionally, slick and stylish. we were getting marreid having lived together for years, so a conventional gift list was not appropriate. We wanted to buy a camper van so were essentially asking for donations towards that. The Bottom Drawer allowed us to create a bespoke gift list of parts to make up the van. I could write in each part description then put a price on it, so we had gifts from a steering wheel at £20 to an engine block at £500 so there was something for everyone. It was good fun and everyone loved the idea and it put an enjoyable aspect to people giving us money no one complained about having difficulty with it the £89 admin fee on the one hand seems a pain and expensive, but where else could we have done this? So given the service provided and how stress free it was I think its good value

Hi
This is such a great idea - we are looking to ask for money towards a campervan but had not thought of listing individual items - it makes it so much nicer for friends and family. Looks good to do it through The Bottom Draw but I can't decide between this and 'WhatToGive'.
Would you by any chance be willing to share your list of van parts? It would be great to see the options you were able to give.
Thank you.
Penny

Ooops made a typo - should have read 'so a guest could pay £25 towards a £150 gift'. Hope that makes sense now :-)
