Took out a gift subscription for Ideal Home magazine for my mum. The first year was without problem... Then I received a letter saying my debit card had expired (which it had, to be fair.) So I rang customer services to update my card and while on the phone they said did I want to make the payment for the upcoming subscription year, which I did (£36.98) Unbeknownst to me, a couple of weeks later they took out a direct debit from my account, a further £36.98 which I only spotted when looking through my online bank statement for something unrelated. I rang and emailed, and was told this would be looked into. Fast forward 2 weeks later, and chasing the issue up I was only then asked to send screen shots of the payments so it could be "investigated further". I was FLABBERGASTED to see a third payment of £36.98 had been taken out (running total over £110!) I sent the requested screenshot before Xmas and was told it would be resolved between Xmas and new year. Heard nothing so emailed again, indicating my dissatisfaction and that I would be looking for compensation as well as the refund. On 6th Jan I received an email... finally, I thought! But no, jus a terse response saying they don't offer financial recompense, just an extension to any subscription! So I rang again, and was assured that the operative would "escalate this to finance as a priority and would call back in 24 hours". Of course, I heard nothing, so rang again, told basically the same thing, that finance would resolve this in 48-72 (working) hours and I will hear back then. The icing on the cake? When I asked how long after this mythical time I could expect to get MY money back, I was told "14 days"!!! Do not touch this company with a barge pole.

It is a struggle to find anyone that has had a good experience with Magazines Direct. Visit any review site and it is full of comments from unhappy customers who have been let down by this company. I ordered a 12 month subscription to Homes & Gardens Magazine in May 2020 and 7 months later still have not received a single magazine. Far from being helpful Customer Services have wasted my time by requesting the same information over and over. Don't waste your time and money with this company.

nightmare!! have called three time to have the magazines sent to the right address!! each time they assure me that the details have been updated.. will be interesting to see if this materialises in July 7 months in...

TERRIBLE SERVICE AFTER 3 MONTHS NO MAGAZINE AND WHEN WE CALL IN NOONE CAN FIND THE ORDER.. WE HAVE THE PROOF IT HAS BOON PAID FOR IN OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR!!! ALO WHEN I CALL I GET A GENTLEMAN THAT DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY GOOD SO I HAVE TO REPEAT .. ALSO YOUR AUTOMATED SYSTEM IS LOUSY. I LIKE TO TALK TO AN ENGLISH SPEAKING AMERICAN.

I was purchased a 3 month subscription for Christmas by my brother on 19th December 2012 & received an automated email congratulating me that I had received a subscription for the magazine I should receive my first copy in 6-8 weeks. 8 weeks later - still nothing so I gave them a call. I was told that they had no details about me whatsoever only my brothers details & the payment hadn't been taken. Apologies were made , my address taken & was told that I would receive back issues as a good will gesture & to ask my brother to contact them to make payment. My brother contacted them to be told that the payment had now gone through (even though didn't re-give the card details) & that I should receive the magazine in 2 days. 5 days later - still nothing so phoned them again & was informed that the magazine was down to be sent to my brothers address!!!! Shocking attitude of the customer care team & was told that the address was corrected & I will receive the magazine next week. The next day the magazine turned up at my brothers address. Contacted them to find out what the hell is going on & said they can't discuss the case with me as I wasn't the bill payer! I phoned my brother to cancel the subscription as I've now been waiting nearly 3 months!!! Shocking compony, shocking customer service who just don't give a damn about anything Will never use these again nor will I buy the magazine again!

I ordered monthly sub for 2 magazines..back in april. Its september now..and no response to my emails and no luck on the magazines. Pathetic service and good luck on getting any agent on the phone. It keeps saying someone will be with you shortly. Waste of money.

I ordered All You Magazine from Mags Direct on June 9, 2009. They made it clear in ordering that it would take 8-12 weeks until I receive my first copy. On July 8, I receivled an email follow-up letting me know that my order was processed successfully and the magazine subscription was transmitted to the publisher. Again I was reminded that it would 8-12 weeks from date of purchase. On August 27, I received my first issue of All You.

Magsdirect.com is awful. I ordered a subscription in Feb. and I still (5 MO. LATER) haven't received a single copy. Their customer service is non existent, just a stupid automated loop that gets you no where. I guess I paid to learn a lesson about getting robbed online, never use this company. They lure people in with cheap prices, knowing that most of us can cope with getting $25-30 stolen.

I ordered the chocolatier magazine subscription 2-7-09. I have called Mags Direct only to receive a recording saying they would get back with me. Well today is 6-4-09 close to 4 months later never a returned call! They sure cashed my check right away though! I

Mags Direct charged my credit card twice and only refunded me once...The problem was they no longer had the magazine I wanted so they said they would credit me back...This was in September and I'm still battling with them to credit me the other 89 dollars. They say they credited me both times even when I sent them a copy of my bank statement.

I own a business. On June 9th 2007, I ordered 12 magazine subscriptions from magsdirect.com. What a mistake!
As of the end of October 2007, I still had not received four of the magazine subscriptions. I called the 800# and talked to a member of staff. She looked up each subscription individually and explained to me that it is the fault of the publishing house that we never received our magazines. She said that her company sent out the subscription requests to the publishers, and from that point on, magsdirect.com is not involved. She went on to tell me that her company has no control over what the publishers do.
I demanded a FULL REFUND for the money I paid ($146). She agreed to give me a refund and said she would credit my credit card.
Today is mid-January 2008..... I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MONEY BACK FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
Furthermore, I have tried to call them three times over the last two weeks, and NO ONE picked up the phone.

Mags Direct advertised a magazine subscription for 10 issues. When the subscription was processed it was only for 6 issues. The website said it was the publishers problem, not theirs. I guess the good news is that they at least processed the order. I will look elsewhere for doing online magazine website purchases in future.
