This was a present for my birthday and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, overall the experience was average. I had major issues being able to get through to the Spa to book, even after leaving details to be called back several times. While the massage itself was great, the jacuzzi’s did not work at all and the steam room had quite a bit of hair in it. The meal was nice for my partner but as I have food intolerances I found the food bland and tasteless for the most part.

Staff were really lovely, we visited the Leeds and it was also our first time trying an escape room experience and a virgin experience in fact and that aspect was great! But once we had finished there was no mention at all of the cocktails and pizza for 2 which was disappointing, especially for my partner who booked this for my birthday... I'm not sure why as I presumed it would have all been in our booking? A bit disappointing due not getting everything that we had booked which spoilt it a bit because the escape room was actually really good fun! And the staff were really friendly.

Sadly the night we had booked for our Dark Skies stargazing experience was misty and cloudy therefore there were no stars to see at all - disappointing but that's the Britsh weather for you. As a result the experience was a 2 hour slide show/lecture in an indoor venue. Interesting but not really an 'experience'. An alternative date should be offered when weather this bad. It was also a shame the sessions earlier in the year were all fully booked immediatley after last Xmas (when we received the experience as a gift-there should be more on offer).

This was a fun gift but I would have felt bad if I had bought this for myself. Firstly you have to wait about in the gift shop before the experience - the voucher said to arrive at least 30 mins early, which meant 45 mins sat on a sofa waiting in the shop. It would have been nice to have been taken up to the bar beforehand! We had 3 nice gins (all the same brand) with 2 lovely hosts in a small side room. Nice atmosphere but misleading to call it a masterclass!

Well the food was ok nothing special which was a disappointment being a birthday treat for my wife she felt the same . Last year Iwe went to a rival which was far superior.But anyway the food was palatable but has a lot if room for improvement. The menu was different from the online menu service was good atmosphere good our experience include a museum visit across the road at the gift shop wow it was closed off so didnt get to see the museum side of my experience. Need to buck up a bit.

The actors really make the experience come to life. Especially the area which you had to walk and crawl through! However, I had issues with the different weapons jamming or refusing to work and staff were not always available to help. In addition the misting up of the mask made it impossible to see. A problem experienced by many! I feel a safe house area should be Installed whereby weapons and masks could be rectified, as I was refused sorting my visor and told I’d have to put up with it!

We sat in the lounge and then expected to be taken into a dining area but were here for the meal. It was more of a thoroughfare with a continual traffic of staff moving through and new staff being interviewed. The food arrived but despite being advised that my wife was vegetarian, she was given meat and fish samdwiches, changed after a delay but to 2 of the 4 being the same filling -brie. Shop bought cakes and jam with scones completed the meal! Poor and not worth the money.

The experience of going to the top of The Shard was amazing! The gin tasting experience however could have been a lot better. All of the gins were London Dry Gins which tasted very similar. There were plenty of mixers, fruit and herbs on offer but no real guidance on how to mix the various options

Everything went ok on the day but it’s not worth the money. They don’t mention when these gifts are bought that you have £25 insurance to take out or alternatively £5000 to put down on a card in case of an accident. Which could just be that the car breaks whilst your driving and nothing to do how you are driving it. The high speed passenger ride is in a BMW which is not just for you so you don’t even get to sit in the front unless of course you pay extra. That said enjoyed the 5 mins drive

We had a virgin experience day and decided to use it on a spa. It wasn’t exactly like virgin was an easy service to use. However the option to swap for another experience was a nice added touch, as we didn’t want the original experience I received. Onto the experience Treatments were pretty good. Staff we’re really nice but the facility was aged and dated, so much so we decided to leave there really wasn’t that much to do to relax and when we went to the pool there was loud energetic music and a water aerobics class going on. Hardly what you want from your ‘relaxing spa day’. As I say there could have been better geared towards being a spa guest and not a just a gym member. Overall the day felt very much like visiting a gym with a few spa treatments. Not like visiting a spa at all. I probably wouldn’t recommend or go back here It would have been nice if the virgin website had explained a little more about the experience as the whole thing ended up feeling kind of wasted and like poor value for money.

Hotel was good, but could be better! Luckily the option was there to have a deluxe room , which we could not fault. Staff very friendly, but due a wedding on the Friday night we could not use the main bar or restaurant and had to go the Garden suite. A soleless bar n restaurant, not a gd atmosphere. Excellent food and service though! Hotel needs to warn people wen booking that a wedding will affect their stay!

The atmosphere was good as was the service and the staff were friendly, the food was ok but the choice for experience day customers was very limited and somewhat disappointing, overall it was a nice evening out which would have been much better if the food choices were more extensive.

Had a 2 night stay Little disappointed with it tbh looked a lot better on line pictures. Reception staff were excellent and very welcoming ! The room was a little disappointing bit small no fridge and the first thing I noticed was the awful net curtains! They were so screwed up and a bit dirty they do needed to be ironed! Apart from that the room was ok bed comfortable tv was small

River to high to use captain boat but did there best to over come situation which led to shorter cruise

lovely and old , quirky uneven floors. staff and food excellent .could do with good refit our bedroom no4 some wallpaper coming off walls in various places by the bed. Head board definately needs replacing as leather coating coming away on both sides where heads rub, doesn't look very nice. bathroom could do with a good dusting cobwebs everywhere and some bits of bathroom grouting and skirting boards coming away exposing yet more dust/webs listed building in need of care. please upgrade .due to age of building signifcant money needs to be spent in its upgrade,we had excessive rain when we stayed causing a leak in our roof which made clothes in our old cupboard wardrobe make the clothes damp.seeing as some parts are 15th century we feel it would be worth the brewery doing the work to preserve such a lovely old building . the windows are also original, but you can't open them very far as some apparently have already fallen out so now most of the have a metal bracket that limits how far they can go,therefore making our room excessively hot.The fan provided didnt help much as it was so full of dust it blew no air out at all.It is a lovely old tudor building which sorely needs some tender loving care. Once again the staff and food brilliant.Come on GREEN KING spend some money.

We had an enjoyable evening celebrating our wedding anniversary here. We could only go on a Saturday and they will only accept voucher bookings from 9pm onwards on Saturdays so that wasn't ideal. You get a small choice with quite basic dishes. The food is nice but not particularly special and I felt a bit disappointed not being able to choose some of the other dishes, but you get what you pay for so fair enough. You do get a glass of proper champagne though with the deal which is delicious.

Room was good and clean. Spa was great, good service and facilities. Would definitely visit Spa again! However service in the hotel bar was very slow. We had to queue up to get a seat for the buffet breakfast, and then service was slow again, we had to flag servers down continually whenever we could find them. Eggs taste like they are powdered and extremely over salted. Dinner at Caprice was exceptionally done, however service really needs an upgrade. Nice staff but process need a change

had a great two nights in this beautiful but tired old hotel. hot breakfast was served by very friendly staff, also help yourself to buffet if needed. evening meal menu was very good value. we had one of the old stables room outside the rear of hotel,as one of us was disabled. mirror was in a dark corner, other one was behind wardrobe so we fought over wet room mirror. surrounding countryside was breathtaking, (car is a must) towns were not too far away. large car park was across from hotel paid into an honesty box. all in all we would definately go again

Disappointed that I was unable to use the photograph in the voucher. This was purchased but the venue didn't support it as they didn't have the facilities which we were not made aware of. Other than that it was a good day out.
