have had for a year now and at first was a good tent(warm summer nights, then the condensation started and it kept getting worse, but the main thing has been the pole, one single pole that creaked and cracked from the first time I packed it away, and now after my 6th time of using has snapped(fibre glass splinters and all), emailed gelert and was given www.tentspares.com as a place to get a replacement, ha no pole on there or any other site and to my surprise I cant even buy one from the company that makes them as they have none in their warehouse, in the bin it went!. staying clear of pop-ups from now on.

A complete waste of money and very frustrating. Back to a traditional tent for me. When it rained, it wasn't waterproof. But that was nothing compared with the difficulty of folding it up again. I don't count myself as a stupid person but you have to be a member of MENSA to work out how to fold it up, not helped by an incompehensible, poorly drawn diagram with no accompanying text, unlike the erection details, which are simple and straightforward. Well they would be if the drawing actually reflected the design of the parts supplied, which it didn't. Anyway, back to trying to pack it up....several friends were also defeated, and in the end a plastic pole snapped leaving razor sharp plastic splinters. Money down the drain.

I bought my Quick Pitch SS last year for Glastonbury. I'm leaving this review now because my friend was looking on the net to buy one and we came across this review site. Quite a few people say that this tents isn't very good on here...I disagree. The Quick Pitch SS was a great little tent for me. They are supposed to be 2 man but there's probably about enough room for one person and bags. It's quick and easy to put up and simple to take down (once you get the hang of it).

I bought this Gelert Quick Pitch SS tent from tentastic.co.uk thinking it looked like really good value, and brought it to a festival. It leaked really badly on the first night when it rained. Luckily, it was really sunny the next day, so it dried out again, but then it got wet inside every night for the rest of the festival, even though it didn't rain again. It gets soaked through from condensation even when it's not raining. I brought the tent home and asked for a refund. Tentastic refused to give me a refund, as they said the tent is not supposed to be waterproof and is only supposed to be used in "clement weather". What exactly is the point in a tent that is not waterproof?? I phoned trading standards, but they've wouldn't do anything. It looks like nobody looks after the consumer these days...

Labelling on the packaging give the impression that it is "waterproof" or "water resistent". At night the Gelert Quick Pitch SS tent attracts the evening moisture and morning dew and just drips water into the tent.
Yes I said evening moisture and morning dew!!!!
If I could give a negative rating I would. If you do intend to buy this tent, only use in areas where there is no evening moisture or morning dew!!!

Gelert Quick Pitch SS gets wet when it's not raining, not enough air flaps, and it's too small. I can't stand up in it! What a load of rubbish.

opened the Gelert Quick Pitch tent in my living room to test it out and it looked great, unfortunately its a complete nightmare to get back in the bag and one of the poles broke on me, so never had a chance to test it against the elements..will be taking it back for a refund straight away.

tiny, uncomfortable, no head room, condensation makes tent sodden and sleeping bags, clothes etc. Gelert Quick Pitch SS ids the worst tent i have ever had to sleep in, giving it to the kids to play in. my friend had same tent, she left it at festival, we all came home coughing and sneezing due to sleeping in the damp.

Even if it is perfectly dry when you put it up and follow all of Gelert's recommendations to leave vents open etc, the inside is totally sodden by nightfall. We haven't managed an entire night in ours yet without having to abandon it and dry out elsewhere. Sleeping bags, quilts pillows all get soaked and we haven't even attempted to use it in the rain yet.

Fast, simple erection and fun colours/patterns. The door is the worst piece of design I have ever seen in a tent. Fitting the flyscreen on the outside, rather than the inside of the waterproof material, means that the water just pours in when it is raining, even if the waterproof section is zipped up properly. The problem could easily have been avoid by better design. Poor design lets down what could have been a good product.

The Gelert Quick Pitch SS is fast opening. It not good for English weather (rain) water comes in so easy. Not water proof at all. I would not recommend.

Quick pitch tent does pop up quick. In my experience, totally no rain protection from floor or rest of tent, weak construction. I think it would blow away in a weak wind! Overall rubbish.

Overall I like it, but will probably buy the bigger version for next time! The single skin keeps you free from creepy crawlies! It is also very warm.
