Have They Gone Bust ?

I have been with IC for many years I recently received a letter saying the will no longer be doing breakdown cover and I should find a new company when my policy expires. This week I had a long journey to do so I phoned to confirm my cover was ok, lucky I did as the emergency number is now out of service and for the first time in 40 years I would have been without cover. I had to quickly take out cover with another company to get cover for my journey.

PS I still had over a week to run on my IC policy.

Service Level Plummeted And I'm Concerned And Angry

I have been with insurance choice for a few years and have been very pleased with service and value. However, within days of renewing, I had a breakdown and called out for home start (which is on my policy) The breakdown company charged me and recommended I claim back, i called IC and was told a claim form would be posted to me. Nothing has arrived and despite several attempts, I have not since been able to get through by phone, and they haven't responded to my email. I'm concerned about the legitimacy of the cover I have paid for and am seeking the reimbursement i'm entitled to.

Good Service

I rang I C Breakdown to recover my Car and Trailer after a road traffic collision.

the recovery truck arrived approx. 1 hr later and took my Car and trailer with one truck to my destination.

They did the job I paid them for.

Very Helpful Service

I filled up my car with the wrong fuel, phoned up IC Breakdown, the man on the phoned explained that draining the tank wasn't covered on the policy - but arranged for car to be towed home, only short distance of 3 miles, excellent service, well worth the money,

One downside was finding the actual number to call, I could not find it on the website.

Not Reachable When Needed

My car broke on the way to the airport. I called the number on the card and they have sent somebody that was not able to repair the car. I thought they would tow me to the airport, leave my car in a garage in the airport area and I would pick it up on the way home from holidays. Alternativelly, to tow me home, but help me to rent a car that I would use to catch my plane. It looks straightforward, no? It was not. It appeared that the number I called was not IC, but a Road Recovery Service and they do not give a dam about my situation - I have red them the Terms and Conditions --- their response was that they are not IC and that if I need a help that IC promissed, I have to call IC directly and gave me a number to call. Obviously, IC office was closed. So, I have not get a chance to get any of the services promised. Their service is not 24/7 .... they refer you to another company that sends an independent towing guy to tow you --- so, if you are happy to help yourself, go for IC, otherwise perhaps go for a company that actually gives you their phone number.

Not So Good This Time!

I have written 2 previous reviews saying how great IC have been, but not this time! our family have 3 seperate policies with them and on the 2 occasions we have had to call tham out, they were great. But a few weeks ago, we went out on a saturday and purchased a car for my son, cahnged the insurance so he could drive it home legally of course, but were unable to change the breakdown cover reg number as they are only open office hours. Tried to do it online too, but it doen't let you! sadly 24 hours after the new car broke down and my son was stranded approx 15 miles from home. called breakdown and because we hadn't been able to change the reg, they flatley refused to come out - no other help offered! On calling the IC office, when it finally opened, and explained the situation and the fact that they only operate office hours, they said that I should have been offerd cover if I gave my credit card details?? I am at the moment having a serious moan at them, but they just don't seem to care that I was let down badly! I do appreciate that I hadn't changed the reg number of the car, BUT surely if they are not open to do this, there should be an online option, that you can make immediate changes on..after all we are paying for breakdown cover..and should get it if we break down!!?? Am I wrong??

Do Not Insure

11 of us in a mini bus broke down on the M25. Left us there for 4 hours. No where to go as there was a steep bank and very embarrasing for the women and teen ages who needed the toilet in this time. They said we would be taken to our destination in taxis, but then another bloke came on the phone and said it was to far for taxis as it would cost a lot of money. They took us to Stanstead Airport and there we got to hired cars. The hire company charged us for the fuel used.

I must have rang this company at least 10 times and was told their customer service staff would be in touch. This was over a month ago so I don't suppose they will ring now. This is how much they think of their customers. I have rated them one star, but they are not worth that. I would never insure with this company ever again.

Excellent Service

Only joined in September of this year, I was a bit dubious because of some of the reviews, Today 9th November 2012 on the way home from the weekly shop I suffered a tyre blow out at 11am, as I am disabled and not able to change the tyre I had to contact IC. My call to IC was answered at the second ring and I was treated very professionally, I received two text messages from the Company and one from the Breakdown Company letting me know when they would arrive, I also had a phone message from the breakdown company to say they were on the way, I waited for 40 minutes for the breakdown to arrive and the tyre was changed and I was on my way in less than one hour from the first phonecall, nothing but praise for this Company compared to the AA that I found to be dreadful.

Con Men - Don't Use!!!!!

Didn't like anything. Very rude, aggresive and abusive, wanted more money or else will take you to court and cancel the policy. INTIMIDATING!! Makes me wonder how we would have got on if needed to claim!

I Would Recomment

I had to use these the other day due to not being able to move my car. The only bad thing is that it took a while for them to answer to phone when I was using my mobile so I had to pay more as it wasn't a free number. They sent me a text message just 10 mins after we ended the call to say somebody would be with me within 50 mins (as i was at work this didn't matter as I was warm and safe). The recovery turned up on time and took my car away to a garage of my choice which was miles away from where I worked so I thought this was great as I only had the cheapest roadside choice when people like the AA and RAC charge more for this type of thing. My car was being repaired while I was at work and was ready for when I finished work! My renewal is soon and will be renewing and also be going for the better service which includes home start and hire car for just £59.00 GREAT!!! I would like to thank them for saving my but!!
