Sega Rally (XBox 360)

Unlike Dirt this rally game is actually fun. Great graphics, very entertaining gameplay, very realistic and I have so far never got bored of it. As far as I am concerned though Sega Rally is not as good as RallySport 3. Therefore I would still well recommend this rally game for the Xbox 360.

At last Sega Rally is back! For people who can remember Sega Rally on the Saturn and at the arcade will know what Sega Rally is all about. Instant pick and play!

As this is an arcade style game you don't have to worry about complicated gear ratios, tyre choice, suspension stiffness etc. All you have to do is pick a track, pick a car, road or off road set up, hit start, and then wheel spin and slide your way to victory!

There are a total of 12 courses to choose and all can be reversed if unlocked. The environments are safari, alpine, arctic and forest. As it is Sega Rally you get the usual animals running about, and aeroplanes flying above.

Sega have introduced 'Track deformation' which basically means that when you start your second and third laps you can see where you and the other cars have driven. This can be useful especially when you are racing in heavy snow or heavy mud you can pick a better racing line or a dryer route which makes the game a bit more tactical.

You have different modes of play: quick start, championship, time attack and multiplayer. Also you can play online and record your lap times online to show off. You get to race against a proper person not a 'ghost' car!

The only downside is that your car doesn't get damaged, no matter how many times you crash. It would have been fun to see doors hanging off, dents, lose of wheels (ala Colin McRae Dirt) when you crash or get crashed into but it is only a minor gripe.

Overall an excellent game with great graphics that is easy to pick up and play without all the fuss. Go buy!
