The First Thing That Needs Mentioning Is That When

The first thing that needs mentioning is that when you make your booking, you are given the option of street view or pool view room. We paid extra for the pool view and overlooked the roof of the bar area!! We complained about it to the management, as our room on the third floor also smelt, and we were moved to another room, this time on the first floor but still could not see the pool!! In fact, only a few rooms would actually have the pool view. The staff said that the hotel rooms should be described as either pool side or street side so this really needs to be amended. The rooms are also quite cramped and not spacious as described. Not too bad if it is just going to be two of you but we had our daughter with us and with three beds in the 'spacious' room it was incredibly cramped.

I wouldn't rate this hotel as a four star, more like a three. The decor is very dated and it needs updating and the rooms are very basic. However, it is kept incredibly clean and the maids clean the rooms thoroughly every day. We found the food very good and varied at all three sittings. Sure, it wasn't A La Carte standard but it was certainly good enough to enjoy a nice meal each time. We went all inclusive so also had our drinks included in the package. However the locally produced vodka isn't as nice as the more popular brands you get in the UK.

The hotel sits right on a beach front and the beach here is fantastic. We would spend the mornings there and then the afternoon around the pool area. The hotel even provides you with bottles of water to take to the beach.

The entertainment was very limited. The two guys were lovely but I think their hands were tied as to what they could do. There was one band called Lipstick that were on four times a week!!!! Even the entertainment team found this strange. For the children, they put on a Mini Disco each evening for about 20 mins and my two year old daughter loved this as the two guys would teach them all the moves. But, sadly this was all there was so not much to keep your children occupied.

The hotel is used predominately by Germans but we found them very friendly and made good friends with a few of them. The staff at the hotel were all extremely friendly.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel as it is kept clean and the food is good, but, it isn't a four star. If you want the luxury of a four star I would suggest the RIU which is further on down the beach, but of course will cost you more. We would visit this resort again as the beach is the best I have ever stayed on in any of the Canary Islands.
