Absloutely love this phone. Had it for over 2 years and had the original N95 with a 4gb card. Ther sound quality is BETTER THAN AN iPhone! My friend has an iPhone and we plyed the exact same song together and my phone was sooo much better. Because I'm a lazy guy and can't be bothered to go and buy an iPod I use it for music and have found that the best eature on the whole phone was the slide out music area. MINDBLOWING. I have owned iPhone 3GS & 4, BBerry Torch 9800, SErricson Satio, SErricson X10 & X8 but i still prefer this phone. Nokia keep up the good work.
PS: I would love to see a touchscreen version of this phone.
PPS: This phone looks astonishing in white

N95 8Gb, the first 5 Mega Pixel camera phone manufactured by Nokia.

From listening to music, watching videos, Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel camera, to finally GPS Navigation - Nokia's N95 does it all.

It also helps in browing the internet and i even use it for chatting. install applications like Fring and do voice chatting. so it reduces headaches of buying or using headhone and mic. It does much more than that.

Amazing battery life, and the awesome wide screen size of 2.8 inch makes it easier to watch videos. Music, File and image management is so eay with file management application.

Not only this with 8GB memory it can be used as a portable storage device, which is very very hady most of the time.

I have tired many other phones, but i have kept coming back to N95 8GB. So far Nokia's best phone.

Wow! what can i say, this phone is absolutly brilliant! I normally tend to get drawn in by the more over fancy looking phones but this time i decided to go with a recommendation and get the Nokia n95 8gb and wow simply brilliant. Packed with features and very easy to use. The music software is very easy to use and don't you don't need a computer science degree to use. Initially I didnt think it was a particularly good looking phone and to be honest i thought i was abit on the chunky side but not long after having the phone the looks have grown on me an as for the size i think its perfect especially for texting and general operation. I can't see myself trading this in so some time 5 star all the way!

Nice stylish looking phone. Big screen. Perfect for texting. I just love it. It is the best phone I have ever owned and I have had quite a lot of mobile phones over the years. It was great to have
A keyboard.
After recently having a touch screen phone, it was to nice to have
A keyboard for texting again. In my opinion touch screens are not really suitable for texting. It made me so frustrated. So pleased to get back to normal again. Thank you Nokia, I will stay with your phones from now on. It was so easy to operate and understand.

For everyone who complains about battery life, size of the phone etc, buy a mobile phone. The Nokia N95 8GB isn't a mobile phone, it's a smartphone and the rest. Its a camcorder, music player, camera, portable computer/web browser, satnav oh, and a phone too! I have this phone through O2 with a data usage bolt on which really brings the phone to life, don't even consider it without a data tariff! I post to my Flickr, check my emails etc with ease. There is also an incredible array of free and paid for apps such as a geotagging program to geotag photographs. A port of Quake 2 and DOOM is available along with a mega drive and SNES emulator. This is a phone for someone who loves to tinker and add new features to an already feature packed phone!

The Nokia N95 8GB is a great phone with too many features to list. Might seem a bit pricey but it's well worth it. The best feature would have to be the WI-FI. I've never had to pay for internet or check email on this phone. There's always free WI-FI somewhere; home, work, collage, pubs, around the city. Some people say it might be a little slow but it get's faster when you update it's firmware (highly recommended)

i have had many phones over the past couple of years and all makes but for me the n95 8gb is the best.slider wise it is tops only just edged out by the build of the 6500 slide.
some people have moaned about the battery life, but mine is a1 im getting about 4 days on above average use , it might be just luck. compared to the n95 its great. everything about is a joy. you dont even notice the size of it after a couple of days.this is coming from a man who is no great lover of the 2 way slide.
highly recomended phone.

★★★★★

written by on 25/03/2008

+ Everything works, and works exceeding well on the Nokia N95 8GB: GPS, Navigation (NokiaMap/MGMaps/Voice Nav), Camera & Video, PDA Integration (Contacts/Notes/To-Do), Video player, etc etc.
+ Great looking phone. Great screen. Great keypad. Everything works very well
+ Battery life very good, much better than expected. I use the phone for Business and have nowhere near even approached 'battery low'
+ Internet surfing is great. In fact, overall, pound-for-pound it beats both my laptop and desktop for getting hold of information. In some respects the web browser is better too than Explorer/Firefox
+ I can honestly say the N95 has revolutionized the way I work, how I listen, watch, surf and go about my day in general
+ There are umpteen features I've yet to explore: Internet Calls, S-Video output to TV, N-Gage Games, Barcode reader
+ It does the job of "just being a phone" and "the simple basics" very well. e.g. the ear-piece speaker is very good unlike my old Sony Ericsson, the keypad is easy to use, speaker phone is very clear (both mike & speaker)
+ The phone can viably replace the following devices: Sat Nav, Camera, Camcorder, PDA, mp3 player - making a huge cost saving
+ The 'Search' function is fantastic
+ Watching a full movie is actually a viable option (screen, sound, battery)

- Why is it so complicated to send an SMS Message?! After clicking "New Message", you're presented with the choice: Text, Multimedia, Audio, Email. Surely it should be a configurable option somewhere e.g. make Text SMS the default
Next, you need to choose the recipient, which is another convoluted process. Yes, its logical, but it takes so long. Options-Add Recipient-OK. The upshot is that the notion of sending a 'quick' SMS is no longer valid. I can live with this, but only because I don't send too many SMS's

- 3G signal drop out. For no obvious reason, the 3G signal sometimes drops out. This can last for days. Then suddenly it comes back. Its really annoying. The only time I wanted to do a video call, 3G signal wasn't present (even being in a known. From reading various threads it seems to be a a common problem with the N95.

- GPS takes a long time to fix the initial GPS position. Again, another known problem. Its not the end of the world since I can wait 10-20mins to get the fix before I need to use the Sat Nav, its both annoying and inconvenient (especially in emergencies)

- "Standby Mode" is great, but
1. Its great that "Calendar" shows meetings for forthcoming days, but when you enter the Calendar application, it just shows you a list of To-Do items for Today. So I see a list of To-Do notes for the day, and not meetings & calendar entries. Its perhaps a matter of getting used to the way the N95 works, but I can already see my To-Do notes via 2 other icons on the front screen.
2 . The "To-Do" summary shows "14 to-do notes not done". Its a useless piece of info for me, what would be better is to show the high priority notes e.g. Call Accountant!". I'm amazed that this trick has been missed by Nokia

- The display of the To-Do notes is clumsy. A lot of space is wasted display the 'date' field, which for me is really unimportant, and wastes valuable screen space. The consequence is less characters to display what the note actually is. The To-Do notes are not easily readable with such few characters

- Again on the point of creating new entries for anything - there is never a 1-click quick way of doing so. e.g. creating a new Meeting or To-Do Note. Its always 3-clicks: Options - New Entry - Meeting. Painful!
- Even though I often use the phone in the horizontal mode, I never switch to using the FWD/REW/PLAY/STOP keys on the left hand side. They seem to have no use for Games, Photos or Internet. Only Video. On the rare occasions I use the Video, the usual keys can suffice. Just a point rather than a gripe

“I have progressed to the N95 8Gb from the Nokia N80...”

★★★★★

written by grahamdaly on 23/11/2007

I have progressed to the N95 8Gb from the Nokia N80 and the Nokia N95 so I am very familiar with the phone and it's features. The N95 8Gb is so good I can't really imagine needing anything else. It does everything a normal phone does - call, SMS, MMS, etc.(sounds obvious but the i Phone doesn't!). I have found reception, call quality texting, etc. works perfectly. Battery life is much better than the N80 and also better than the N95. I do generally charge the N95 8Gb once a day but I use all of its features not just the phone, when I just use it as a phone the battery lasts more than one day. The screen is good quality and is bigger than the N95 screen. The camera takes excellent quality photos, it lacks the lens cover on the N95 but I used to find that opened too easily and, as a result, used to turn the camera on, so I prefer the N95 8Gb set up. Obviously there's plenty of memory for photos. I have transferred 5 feature films to the phone, each film takes approximately 450Mb of memory so there's still plenty of room. I've got 12 hours of music on the phone and, with the proper socket for earphones you can use a top quality set even though the provided Nokias earphones are perfectly adequate. The provided Calendar application is poor if you wish to use the phone as a PDA but I have installed Aqua calendar so I now have all the PDA functions I require including a handy, fully featured 'week view.' I have also installed Audible 'talking book' software as well as Symbian games. The Office application is excellent allowing me to view Word, Excel and Power point files on the move. (This can be upgraded to edit but, as there is no touch screen, I prefer to edit on my PC and only view on the phone.) This is the only thing the phone doesn't have which I would find useful - a touch screen for data entry. Web access is excellent and it is so easy to connect via W-Lan. As a result I can download large files and applications without incurring additional costs. Picking up e-mail is similarly straightforward. I haven't tried the Sat Nav feature but I have used the mapa. I travel overseas frequently and I have downloaded maps for the countries I've visited which is really convenient (especially as I've used Nokia Map Loader via W-Lan so it's quick and inexpensive.) I've probably missed out lots of things that this phone can do, it really is everything you could possibly need!

Ultimately I carry this one device, it's my phone, my PDA, my music player, my movie viewer, my calculator, my camera, my map book. It's everything I need in one package. It's better than the N95 which, even though I had a 2Gb memory card installed was filling up too quickly. This phone is superb, I couldn't recommend it more highly. Get one!!!!

A helpful review, it gave an objective opinion of the phone and was useful since he has already used the other phones mentioned and thus was able to make a critical comparison.
