Over all the Samsung D75 is a good camera, it is not the most expensive one but for my purposes it suits OK.

When it comes to the Samsung D75 battery life, indeed for some reason it is a mockery on alkalines. Doesn't matter if you set your camera to battery type ALKALINE or Ni-MH. What's more if the camera displays BATTERY LOW and you take alkalines out and check them on a multimeter they are not drained, they're fine. Weird isn't it? But put re-chargeable ones into your camera and everything is spot on. Don't buy rechargeable batteries different to Ni-MH type (eg Ni-Cd type will not work good). If you get yourself for instance 2700mAh Ni-MH batteries I guarantee this Samsung will work long on them.

What is the point of selling a camera that can only take 7 pictures unless of course you go out and spend at least another 15 pounds for a memory card, not only that, you are going to spend a fortune on batteries too so I see it as a complete waste of time. Unless anyone can tell me about something I have over looked maybe, but in my opinion........pointless!!! I used to rate Samsung but now I think my opinions have changed somewhat.
