One of the managers provided terrible customer service. Instead of assisting customers, the manager was more interested in other jobs. When I asked for assistance and requested to help since I was getting late for work, He rudely responded by telling me to wait for 10 minutes because I have other things to do. I had visited the Swindon store , Tuesday Morning 31/01/2023.

“You wont be given your money back here!!”

I purchased some sale items in the Biggleswade store, I tried them on at home because they no longer have any fitting rooms. As the items didn't fit I returned them for a refund, I had paid using my debit card so I was expecting the refund to be put back on the debit card. They flatly refused to do this for me and issued the refund onto one of their gift cards, thus forcing me to return to the shop another time to spend what's on the card instore. So be aware if you buy any sale items here because they wont give you your money back if they don't fit. I will now only go back once more to spend the gift card and then that's it, I'll no longer shop at Matalans ever again.

“Chias at the checkout ”

Yesterday I visited the Brimsdown store and had a lovely time selecting clothes for the family. Then I went to pay! What a disaster. Gone were the friendly till staff who have always been so helpful. Paying by card is now all self service. After being in the queue for half an hour patience was running short. Then to have to remove hangers, search for hidden security tags and pile all of your purchases up in a heap I was not happy. The poor woman who had the job of assisting shoppers was lovely and helpful, but rushed off her feet. I have osteoarthritis in my hands, and if it had not been for my daughter in law who was with me I think I would have abandoned my shopping and left. I spent over £200.00, but even if I had spent £2.00 I would still have expected better service. I love your choice of merchandise, but will think long and hard about a return visit.

BY FAR THE WORST WEBSITE I HAVE EVER ORDERED FROM. I MADE AN ORDER ON 01/11/16 FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY GOT A EMAIL THE NEXT DAY SAYING MY PARCEL HAD BEEN DISPACTED AND I HAVE STILL NOT RECIVED MY ORDER 19/11/16. I HAVE LEFT THEM 4 EMAILS AND MADE A NUMBER OF CALLS BUT JUST KEEP GETTING CUT OFF OR JUST RINGS OUT. WILL NEVER BE USING THIS WEBSITE AGAIN. I SPENT £137 ON STOCK AND I WILL BE ASKING FOR SOME OF MY MONEY BACK FOR THE INCONVIENCES. IF I DO NOT RECIVE ANY COMPANSATION I WILL BE TAKEN IT HIGHER CAUSE THEY SHOULD NOT BE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS WOULD ADSIVE PEOPLE NOT TO ORDER ONLINE FROM MATALAN CAUSE THEY ARE A JOKE WHEN IT COMES TO SENDING ORDERS.

“poor online service”

I ordered bikini with 5 days delivery service. After 9 days of not having received it I was reasured I will get my order shortly. Today however I received an email saying that my order was returned to Matalan ad the driver was not able to find where I live. I live just by the Woking town center! Not difficult to find. I had to order my bikini somewhere else with next day delivery charge in order to have it before my holidays! Just a poor service!

I ordered an adult Anna (Frozen) costume for World Book Day on Friday night and received my order on Sunday morning. Super speedy delivery. The costume is brilliant and has such lovely detail for such a cheap price at £20. I will definitely be ordering from Matalan again as this was a brilliant first experience. “Shocked I had spent over 6 mins to someone in Bulgaria !!!”

Ordered 5 items on line used my £10 off £50 voucher thought all was well. 4 days later I received email two most expensive items out of stock so could not use voucher - fair enough. Found two missing items at nearby store so I rang customer services with the number on my receipt as was astounded to find I was speaking to a girl located in Bulgaria. Asked for another voucher as not my fault couldn't use it, I should not have been able to order out of stock goods. Had to ring Bulgaria again to get local store telephone number. What a polava, I use Next Sainsburys Amazon etc all time never encountered anything like this before they need to update their systems and I expect to speak to someone in UK in future

“Awful delayed service”

Placed an online order and forgot to put my £30 voucher onto the order, so I immediately emailed them to cancel it. However, 4 days later!!!!!! They emailed to say they couldn't cancel it, so I advised them I would decline delivery. It's now 3 weeks later and I'm told they can't refund me as the courier has delivered my parcel to my porch ?!!!?!? Now, 1st my house doesn't have a porch and 2nd, my house is located behind electric gates with CCTV, so it definitely hasn't been delivered to my porch..,. Still fighting for my refund! Avoid at all costs!

“Customer Serrvice Rubbish”

I placed a £52 order (8987579) with Matalan online on 08/06/2015, I receive an email from them on 10/06/2015 stating that they can't deliver for 10 days because of some problems on their side so I phone them this morning 12/06/2015 to cancel the order and was told that they can't cancel it because it has already been processed and I must wait for it to be delivered to the store for collection and then cancel it there. What rubbish un-process it and refund the money if you can't supply the goods! THEY DO NOT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR.

“missing parcel”

I ordered a elsa dress for my daughters birthday. I paid next day delivery. My order never arrived.i checked tracking of it which stated it was delivered at 11.18am and was left on porch. We have a open porch which is on a busy road, hardly the place to leave a parcel.no card was put through the door to say they had called.plus my husband was at home so either it has never been delivered and was took, we will never know. on ringing customers service I was told to reorder the dress at my cost again and they would pay for next day delivery. I don't think so!!! I demanded a refund, hey they have to EMAIL the courier HERMES and get their side before a refund is paid. Anybody thinking of ordering online from matalan, give them a miss and use alternative companies that can fulfil orders.

“disfunctional support. Leave well alone.”

having using them for store purchases in the past I have been so disappointed with my first online order. They didn't send it out for 4 days and I had no notification that was going to be the case and had to cancel before I got the message since I needed the dressing gown for a hospital appointment. I cancelled via their dreadful foreign call center (twice I spoke to them and they agreed but had to wait 10 minutes in a queue each time) and via email. In spite of the verbal agreed cancellation I still ended up with the delivery dumped on my wet doorstep in heavy rain by Yodel 7 days from my initial order. The note pushed through the letter box stated "safe storage in the porch". Ha! All attempts to email them were all just auto-replied to. No person actually bothered to email or phone me. As it would be a 30mile round trip to return to store, I have had to post the items back to them via our local postoffice (as agreed by their call center staff). However, I'm still waiting for anyone to get any non-automated email reply or a phone call about refunding my getting back my return postage since they admitted I had cancelled in time. (Pigs seen flying overhead...) A few days later I got an unsolicited store card in the post. No apologies or comments; right, as if I'm ever going to go near them again!

“Cannot cancel before delivery”

Ordered goods, an error came up when i ordered. So i re-ordered. Got email thanking me for both orders so i rang up to cancel but it seems you cannot cancel an order and i have to return the items or pay postage. Shambolic company

“Poor delivery time & information ”

Placed an order with matalan online, had my confirmation email, now 4 working days later still have not recieved a dispatch email which with any other company tends to come the day after. So as for paying £3.50 for delivery within 3-5 working days I'm highly dissapointment and when my order finally gets here I shall be taking the whole lot back and shopping elsewhere. Also don't bother ringing or emailing as you either get no response and a hefty phone bill, or a response full of broken promises that your order will be there on that day.

“Terrible cancellation policy”

I ordered one high price item and two low price item. My delivery was not over the threshold for free delivery, so I paid the delivery cost. The high price item was out of stock so they refunded that amount. However they didn't pause the order or wait for me to tell them to proceed, so the low price items came and I still had to pay for the delivery. Basically I paid twice as much for these low cost items all because they don't pause orders if there is a change in them. I asked for a refund of delivery, they told me to take my items to the nearest store. I pointed out that I ordered online because I can't GET to a store, but it fell on deaf ears. Waste of time, avoid avoid avoid, or have better luck than me.

“Seemingly incapable of operating a modern ecommerce...”

I ordered a 3 piece suit and they sent 2 pieces along with an apology that the trousers were 'so popular' that they sold out and are unable to fulfil. At the same time the website showed that the trousers were still in stock. Less seriously, as part of a separate order on another occasion, they accepted the money but subseqently wrote back to advise that they could not fulfil half of the order. I like Matalan stores, even though they mostly seem to stock non-average sizes. I mostly can't fault their products either, especially at the prices sold. However, they should immediately suspend their web operations until they learn how one operates in the 21st century.

“Matalan online customer services horrendous”

Matalan a online customer service is non existent. I tried for days to alter an order but to no avail, I then tried emailing only to get automated responses, in final desperation I was forced to post my complaint on face book, this did manage to warrant a response. I am still waiting for my refund. Not impressed at all and would not bother using matalan again, there ate many great high street online stores so use them instead. On a positive note my order did arrive in time.

“APPAULING!!!”

I dont believe the customer service team at Matalan online actually exists!! I order goods worth £123 on the 13th Sept. The delivery status on 19th said the items had been delivered - well unless they are invisible then they certainly HAVE NOT arrived. So far over the passing 3-4 weeks I have sent them 4 emails and have tried to call 5 times,,,, not a single reply to the emails and the telephone lines just ring out for 20+ mins before cutting you off. I have never been so frustrated with a company in my life!!! I dont know who or where to turn to to get my money refunded. I certainly WOULD NOT recommend the online store,,,or would ever use again!!!!!

“Horrible service”

No problems so far when buying in their stores, but their online service is the worst you can find around. First online order was delivered with a broken good, which now I am sure it was already broken before leaving the warehouse. In my last online order, the clothing items arrived with the alarms still attached on (how can you miss such a big thing sticking out of the bags?!). I called them and they assured me that they would refund me for all postage costs due to the inconveniences they had caused me (I had also payed for a priority delivery as I had to leave for a trip and needed the clothing). I had to post the clothes back, but they never refunded me for posting costs. I scanned and sent them the post office receipt as they asked, but no luck so far. I have called several times and e-mail them, but the most I get is the answer from someone responding me things unrelated to my issue (YES, they once sent me an e-mail apparently meant for another client, how smart they can be). It is a matter of principles and knowing my consumer rights, so they are SO paying me this back, even if I will probably end up spending more time and money in calls and notes that what the postage was itself. It is so frustrating, and they are so helpless. In any case, the inconveniences and the impotence of seeing what bunch of useless staff they are will never be payed back to me. I am personally done with this brand. Never again.

“joke of a company!”

i ordered shoes online for next day delivery,only to discover that they had still not been delivered a week later and every time i called i was promised they would be delivered that day day that i called on,which happened 4 days in a row,i was then told they tried to deliver and no one was in,which was a complete lye!as i stayed in all day until 9pm when they said would be last deliverys,and they said they left a note,which they didnt,just a bunch of absolute r*tarded f**ks!!!!!!!
