“Great tent!”

★★★★★

written by cobbone on 04/08/2014

Massive inside, great porch feels secure and really waterproof. A bit of a faff to put up and get the right tension on all the guys. A bit low, but that helps keep it secure. Lived in it in America for 6 months with my partner. Much better than the totally rubbish vango which replaced it after the monsoon was ripped by a flying pig ark! Want to get another.

“super traveller”

★★★★★

written by huibvreeken on 10/07/2011

this tent brought us trough europe first just the two 0f us and then later our little girl came along. it,s a verry fast pitching tent which is nice when it rains or you want to play whith your children after a long day in the car. we once woke up standing in 10 cm of water around us while the inside of the tent whas still dry and up till now it,s kept always waterproof. wind is your least problem as it is verry close to the ground and of a superb construction.the inside is spacious enough especially the portal where you can create a porch by opening the zippers in the top of the door to the left and right so you are out of wind and rain enyoing the view. to rest my case whe bought ours in 1997 and it,s still being used whith great pleasure. yours sincerely Huib Vreeken the Netherlands

“I've had a Terra Nova Quasar for some time and wanted...”

★★★★★

I've had a Terra Nova Quasar for some time and wanted a tent with a little more living/storage/cooking space and got a Wild Country Monsoon. It has consistently delivered top quality performance in quite extreme conditions - in fact it's lived up to my hopes perfectly. For 'luxury' outings a Campingaz Extra long double airbed fits it perfectly.

Pitching it is an absolute breeze (IF you bother to gain an understanding of the design...!!) and after a couple of times can be achieved in 4 minutes. It has stood up to Glencoe and Scottish West coast gales, downpours, blizzards and ice without any problems - I do tend to use titanium pegs for winter conditions though...

I would like to thank Terra Nova for finding this tent for me at one of their retailers, well after they had stopped making them when I decided to purchase one - their service was once again unsurpassed

I've used this tent and loved it for a decade. Loads of space, enough for two sit in chairs and slob out in the rain!

“We were very happy with this tent for years (about 5)...”

We were very happy with this tent for years (about 5) until its groundsheet waterproofing totally failed.
I was extremely dissatisfied with the company's response: they tested it and offered to sell me another one at a discounted rate, but let slip that "we usually recommend they are reproofed after a couple of years" - something not mentioned in the care instructions.
I won't touch Wild Country/Terra Nova with the proverbial barge pole as a result.
A shame, because we were very fond of our Monsoon, before it leaked!

“Best tent till now! Looks friendly from the outside”

★★★★★

Best tent till now! Looks friendly from the outside
spacious inside
big opening in front
seems quite durable (used 2 seasons). Its a inner tent first tent, which means that when you are caught in bad weather it takes a while before you and your gear are under a roof.
Its a quite tricky tent to put up anyhow because of all the poles crossing and the textile not wanting to cooperate, but once it's standing its a great tent!!!

“I have used the Wild Country Monsoon as a base camp...”

★★★★★

written by atelford on 05/08/2007

I have used the Wild Country Monsoon as a base camp for years. It has survived the worst of the lake district weather when fellow campers tents have failed. Despite continual heavy downpours and a force 6 gale it didn't flinch. It even survived a rather boisterous golden retriever, who slept in it for many years. I have camped during Winter in it and it takes a huge snow load and still keeps warm.
It is almost a mountaineering tent, so that means that it will sleep two in relative luxury, three in comfort or four very good friends who don't snore!
I really recommend it, if you need a good tent. I always take this tent, even when I have a Teepee etc as its the best guaranteed shelter. If you can get the custom ground sheet. It gives extra base and keeps the tent safe. With both it weighs 6kg maximum, brilliant.

Hi Guys, I have had a Wild country Monsoon 4 man tent but not used it for a few years, I have just erected it but am not sure which rods go where as they are different by a few inches.. tent seems to go up with the rods in various positions but hard to tell which is correct, Wondered if anyone had a data sheet showing position.

Thanks for answering this question.
