How much sense does it make to pay a phone bill of $25.63 when the actual usage charges were $.88?

Being totally honest I can find any fault with New Call until recently when received a letter from them stating that they are very concessions about security and because I am using a router not supplied by them they are unable to update the software and if I do not update it within 7 days the will terminate my contract. I wrote back to them basically telling them a few home truths like I am using the original router supplied by you, stating make and model number, and have tried to update the software but that particular model is not listed any more, therefore it is up to you as my ISP to inform me as to what to do next. I also said that I do not take it lightly in receiving threatening letters especially when the facts are wrong. That was two days ago still waiting for a reply!

After reading lots of these reviews I feel I need to defend them a little bit. I've been with them four months now and so far so ok. My internet speed has been good no problems. My only problem has been the phone charges. Don't don't don't use your phone. I've just been charged nearly two pounds to phone a local number for 20 mins. A connection fee of 13 pence is added on every call which they don't tell you. I am going to make sure I don't use my phone at all this month and see if I actually get a bill for the £15 it's supposed to be. I had more trouble with other companies with my internet than I have with these.

I signed my parents up for this service as it allows them to pay £3 a month for broadband internet and £10 a month line rental, which hands down beats any other provider in the market. The reason I chose this provider is because all my parents use the internet for is emails and reading the odd news article, they don't know about or understand downloading and they don't stream videos. So if you need a cheap simple solution for somebody who is a light user (my parents probably don't use 100MB a month), this is the ideal service. I must point out anybody who is somewhat internet savvy and uses their computer for anything beyond the most basic of tasks would probably want to stay away from Primus Saver, but if all you want is a really basic service for a really low price, this ISP is ideal.

I have been with Primus for 2 months so far. The guys from BT were amazing during installation. There was a problem with the line (slightly crackly) but the engineer made a phone call, apologised and advised another engineer would arrive in the next couple of hours. Slightly annoyed that I thought I would have no broadband for the rest of the day, 5 minutes later and an army of BT engineers arrived on my street! One of the engineers kindly knocked on my door to say they would get the problem sorted ASAP. It did take a couple of hours, however I could see that BT had responded promptly and efficiently with the matter. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED!! When my first bill arrived I had to ring up to get my temporary password for my online account - I was on hold for 45 minutes SO BEWARE IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF LONG WAITS!!! I signed up for the UNLIMITED package which is £2 for first 6 months - the bill comes through as exactly £2. As I have previously said, I have only been with Primus for 2 months and I am dubious after reading these reviews. However, I feel compelled to give my satisfied thoughts as I have not yet been dissatisfied. After reading these reviews I will reserve judgement for at least 6 months before I recommend to a friend.

Thanks for your positive response, I have just signed up and was about to pick up the phone to cancel in my 'cooling off period' ! However, this is a second line for me, and without broadband etc, so I am hoping that like with most review sites, people only ever put the negative and not the positive.

I joined Primus (NEW CALL)in Nov 2010 and in Nov 2012 I went to Sky. Primus state an 18 month contract, but they are trying to charge me £61.99 for ending my contract early. what contract ?? I was out of an 18 month contract and on a month by month deal. Customer services are run by people that seem to be new staff and dont know much, you cant log onto their site to change your email address, all you can do is view your statements from the emails they send you. They seem to be cheap, but most companies offer Line rental 12 months in advance, so a thats cheaper option. Never again. Just hope this £61.99 stays in my account, lots of people on the net say they were charged for this to !

I have used Primus for my landline for over 2 years and have always been very happy with the price and service from them Up until 2 weeks ago when i moved house I rang customer service to inform them about my move afew days before to cancel my account as my new address didnt have a landline installed The lady i spoke to was very helpful and told me they could arrange for the line to be reconnected for a fee of £59 and also i could go onto a much better deal only £7.99 per month for the line rental instead of £9.99 I agreed to both of these offers and sat back and waited for them to get in touch with details of what was going to happen I waited and waited so gave them another call after being kept on hold for over 15 mins i got through to customer service where the lady i spoke to went off the line to try and find the lady i had spoken to the first time when she came back she told me 1st lady would call me right back so i waited and waited again still no call Few more days go by so i E mailed customer service and explained the whole situation The next day lady 1 rang me as my E mail had been brought to her attention and promised me she would sort things out and get back to me the next day That was 4 days ago and guess what still no call still no landline So come on Primus get your act together or i shall be going else where
