Have Eaten Here A Few Times Now And Although There

Have eaten here a few times now and although there is often a wait when it's busy the food has always been excellent. This is not where I would choose to go for a special occasion but for eating out with the kids its superb value and a much better meal than harvester, pizza hut etc.

Staff are very nice even though they appear overworked. If there is any critism it would be at the lack of activity books or anything for the kids whilst they wait.

The Rendezvous In Swansea Is Not A Destination Res

The Rendezvous in Swansea is not a destination restaurant. Based underneath a long-since defunct shopping centre it offers little in the way of elegance of atmosphere... but.... and there is a "but"...

I've been to a couple of events here - it's perfect for boozy office parties or weddings - large, open and ummm... flat? It does feel a bit corporate.

They have a very confused menu - I'classed it as Chinese but they offer a Chinese and French Menu. Literally side by side. This worries me and as the staff are all Chinese I know which half of the menu I have always stuck to! The "French" food looks ok on other people's plates but I'm just uncomfortable with it.

So why the high rating? Today I went for the two course £5.90 lunch special. I suddenly had a craving for something Chinese so took a punt. They offered around 6 starters and about a dozen main course options from a laminated long-standing lunch menu).

The lovely and very welcoming staff offered a table at the window (old trick I know). A pint of lager appeared promptly and my order taken equally as quickly. My spare ribs came predictably in a sticky, plentiful hoisin type sauce with a hint of chilly. The meat was falling off the bone, the sauce delicious but I would have liked more of a chilly kick - that's a personal thing! This is proper finger licking food.

Next up was the crispy beef, again in a rich sauce, this time with more chilly and a scattering of sesame seeds. My stodge of choice was egg fried rice which was perfectly cooked, though I could have had noodles of chips instead (they don't tell you this - neighbouring table made this request and it was greeted with an "of course" from the waitress!). All in all not life changin but for the sake of £8.50 I've lumbered back to work full and content. I will be going again soon. Cost in the evening obviously at least double the price.

Good Family Food, But Quality And Variety Has Redu

Good family food, but quality and variety has reduced in line with lower prices. Becomming less child friendly since new ownership, kids are more confined than before, though garden is still top quality. Food service is reasnably quick and friendly, but you'd do well to make an appointment to order drinks at the bar. Bar staff always seen to have something else to do than serve drinks, not exactly welcoming as a pub.

The Rovers Tye is now under new management and the atmosphere has never been better. I would reccommend the pub on all levels to family and friends!

The menu is 2 for £10 Monday to Friday

There is also plenty of activities to sort a variety of people.

Great value for money, friendly new team!!!

We Have Had Some Bad Visits To Rovers But I Will T

We have had some bad visits to Rovers but I will tell you about our last visit. After waiting 40 mins for our meal a waitress come and told us that they had run out of chicken but this had run out a long time before yet we had to choose another meal after a massive wait already, when we told the waitress that was pretty average she was rude, then when we finally got our meals they were cold and I mean cold!

We have given the Rovers a lot of chances now but this was the last straw, I am not a whinging type person but the food and service is below average! I will not be going back to the Rovers!

The Rovers Tye In Highwoods Approach Is A Very Nic

The Rovers Tye in Highwoods Approach is a very nice place to dine. Good staff, great value for money, a place for kids to play, and nice soft music in the background.
