Should Be Shut Down
POOR ANIMALS HAVING TO LIVE HERE. DIRTY, EXPENSIVE, SMALL ENCLOSURES FOR SOME. STAFF CANT BE BOTHERED TO TAKE A DUSTER TO THE AWFUL PLASTIC PLANTS.
SPOILT A DAYS HOLIDAY FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. ENOUGH SAID ! AS FOR THE OUTSIDE PLAY AREA ..........SHODDY.
Very Sad Bored Looking Inmates.
The enclosures were very small. The cats enclosure would have be better in the play area out the front and the poor monkeys need some entertainment. Didn't like it at all and would never visit or recommend to friends or family. Disgraceful in this day and age.

We Visited Amazon World After Reading The Brochure
We visited Amazon World after reading the brochure and thinking it looked good for the money which was £6.99 each, there were 4 of us.What a waste of money it took us all of three quarters of a mile to go round. There were enclosures which we couldn't work out whether there was anything in them!! The Ocelots were beautiful but we didn't think their enclosure looked very nice for them. The penguins enclosure was tiny not what expected and then we went around the lemur walk which was also very small not like the lemur walk we have 10 miles from our own home in Tenby which is probably ten times bigger!!!!!!!!!!! All in all a very disappointing and expensive visit.

We Went To Amazon World For The Second Time During
We went to Amazon World for the second time during our recent holiday to the Isle of Wight and once again were very happy with our visit. Unlike some other small zoos Amazon World seems very small and intimate and although most of the animals are small you can usually get very close to them or their enclosures.
There is a large indoor section with birds flying free and hopping around, my kids are two and three years old and they loved this section. They particularly enjoyed feeding the huge koi carp and turtles - don't forget some 50 pence pieces for the food dispenser :) They had a great many small animals such as various monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, fish, penguins, flamingoes, leopards, armadilloes, bats, snakes, insects, cavys and some larger tapir-like animals (forgot the exact name). I loved it that you could get up close to most of the animals, I've been to other zoos but as my kids are young they sometime struggle to spot animals in larger enclosures.
There's loads here to keep you occupied for hours and there's a brilliant adventure playground outside for the kids to burn off any energy left over. They stamp your hand on the way in so you can break for a picnic or lunch at the cafe there and then go back in after.
It's great value for money and they also accept Tesco clubcard days out vouchers :)
Overall, A Terrible Waste Of Time And Money! Almos
Overall, a terrible waste of time and money! Almost half of the displays were empty, with others simply being 'repeats' of animals that they have in numerous other enclosures. A rather disturbing 'Amazon Agriculture' area that was comprised of plastic non-indigenious breeds of cattle (which were labelled simply as 'Beef'); plastic fruit nailed to sticks labelled 'Wild Banana'; and some iguanas in a tree. Not exactly an accurate depiction of agriculture in the Amazon, and therefore is inadvisable to be a learning forum for young children.
The entire Amazon World Zoo was under development during our visit (March 24, 2009), combined with the large percentage of empty enclosures, they should not have been charging full price for such a fiasco!
Also: one of the 2 gift shops were closed. overall lack of customer service and pride in the facility.

The Amazon World Zoo, Isle Of Wight. A Fantastic Z
The Amazon World Zoo, Isle of Wight. A fantastic zoo well worth visiting. The jungle environment is stunning with birds flying about. As well as that there's also a flamingo lake, creepy crawlies section(Not or me!) a reconstructed village. Outside in fabulous enclosures are a small range of animals like Geoffreys cat and a giant armadillo. Well worth going to -its excellent!
Closes early though.
What is there? Tropical bird house - Flamingo lake - Bat cave temple(with massive boa constrictors!)- Desert area(HOT!)- Terrapins
Overall then a classy zoo-well worth going to!
