Chemical Brothers, We Are The Night

As a massive fan of the Chemical Brothers, I couldn't wait to hear their latest offering We Are The Night, however this album is not really like the stuff they've done before. Gone are the signature big beat tunes and instead they've been replaced by something much trancier and subtle.

This at first takes some getting used to, particularly if like me you're a die hard fan of the Chems earlier work. However, change is not necessarily a bad thing and with this, the duo demonstrate that they are not just a one trick pony. Varying from more chilled out moments like 'Harpoons' to dancier tunes like the first single 'We Are The Night', it gets better with every listen and proves that the boys have still got it after thirteen years.. A definite grower.
